How do I create new Demandware project in eclipse? - demandware

I'm a newbie. I'd like to study Demandware, but I don't know how to create new Demandware project in eclipse. Is there anyone can instruct me how to create a new Demandware project step by step in eclipse?
Thanks.

After installing UX studio in Eclipse IDE, try to follow the below steps:
Export the existing site (log in into the Business Manager of your local sandbox and select SiteGenesis in drop-down ,go to “Administration” > “Site Development” > “Site Import & Export")
Download the archive than unzip the same
Import them in UX studio as "General Project"
Create new demandware server and bind all project references
Verify the active version under Demandware server properties as well as in your local sandbox, both should be same
Go to your sendbox > click on "Storefront"
You have successfully create basic site, now you can customize as per your need.

In order to create new project and use Demandware with eclipse. You have to install "UX Studio Plugin" of Eclipse.
Repo Location for eclipse:
Juno - http://updates.demandware.com/uxstudio/4.2
Kepler - http://updates.demandware.com/uxstudio/4.3
Luna - http://updates.demandware.com/uxstudio/4.4
Demandware is not free and neither it is open-source. So, if you have a Demandware Xchange account you will find much detailed instructions on how to use Demandware with eclipse

In order to work with Demandware project you have to install an Eclipse plugin for Demandware called 'UX Studio'.
For installing this you can goto Eclipse > help > install new software. Here you can use Luna to install the Demandware UX studio plugin.
If the plugin installation is successful you can select Demandware Development Perspective, which is on right side of the Eclipse toolbar. Now you can create a connection to the sandbox server provided by Demandware.
You will require a hostname, your username and password for connecting to the sandbox server.
After connecting to the server you can upload project cartridges to the server and work on it.

Can't choose an existing server in a Dynamic Web Project a in Eclipse

My colleague just set up a Dynamic Web Project in Eclipse and he also configured the server. He shared the entire project on a git repository and I cloned it. When I try to run the html file I click on 'run on server' but then I'm not able to choose an existing server already configured. Eclipse force me to create a new server with default configuration. I am attaching a screenshot of Eclipse

Help --> Install new software ---> install " eclipse repository - https://download.eclipse.org/releases/oxygen ".
Then install the package for -- Web,XML, Java EE and OSGi Enterprise Development.
Reboot your computer and eclipse. Then it will work. Good luck.
It works for me:
Properties -> Project Facets and do it like this
Right click on you project and go to properties. Go to Project Facets and on Dynamic Web Module click the little drop down menu and select 3.1. I initially had it at 4.0 and it was not supported in my version of Eclipse.

How to deploy an Eclipse Plugin?

Environment: Eclipse Oxygen.3a Release (4.7.3a), Build id: 20180405-1200
I have completely developed my new Eclipse Plugin. I have debugged it successfully and It´s ready to be deployed for beta testing by other developers in my organization.
The Overview tab in plugin.xml Eclipse editor offers an Export Wizard that works and produces a .jar file (theoretically) containing the plugin to be installed in other Eclipse installations.
After exporting the plugin to a local folder in my computer I tried to install it in Eclipse by using Help > Install new software... > [Add...] > [Archive...], selecting the .jar file generated and clicking [Ok].
However, I get the error message "Could not find jar:file:*<the selected plugin file>*!" and the [Finnish] button remains disabled.
What is missing to make my new plugin fully installable?
The most robust way to publish a plug-in (or Feature) for others to consume is to produce an Update Site. Then you can direct users to that site so they can install your plug-is/features via the Install New Software UI. It also provides an easy way to publish updates to your plug-ins.
Here is documentation about creating an Update Site.

No server in windows>preferences

I'm trying to add Apache server to Eclipse(Juno). I have installed Apache server 7.0, but when I try to add this to the Eclipse environment I don't see the options server in windows>preferences. There must be an option called server in preferences to add Tomcat server.
Please, help me on how to get that option?
Do I need to install any plugin? If yes, please, provide me the link or the name.
In Eclipse Kepler,
go to Help, select ‘Install New Software’
Choose “Kepler- http://download.eclipse.org/releases/kepler” site or add it in if it’s missing.
Expand “Web, XML, and Java EE Development” section Check JST Server Adapters and JST Server Adapters Extensions and install it
After Eclipse restart, go to Window / Preferences / Server / Runtime Environments
You did not install the correct Eclipse distribution. Try install the one labeled "Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers".
I had the same issue. I was using eclipse platform and server was missing in my show view. To fix this go:
help>install new software
in work with : select : "Indigo Update Site - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo/" , once selected, all available software will be displayed in the section under type filter text
Expand “Web, XML, and Java EE Development” and select "JST Server adapters extensions"
then click next and finish.
The server should be displayed in show view
You can also install the required packages with Help -> Install new software...
See http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/compare.php for the packages you need to install to have eclipse IDE for java EE developers
Follow the below steps:

And after downloading and extracting the ZIP open the extract folder and click on Eclipse application icon.

Install Marketplace plugin on Eclipse Juno

I downloaded the Eclipse Juno 4.2 classic bundle, and saw that Help > Marketplace... was not available. AFAIK, this is provided by the mpc plugin. On their website however, I didn't see a trace of how to install the mpc client for Juno.
How can I add the Marketplace Client to the classic Juno bundle?
As far as I know, the Classic distribution does not contain the Marketplace client (and that is the only such official distribution). However, it is available for download.
Select Help/Install new software... from the menu, select the Juno update site (http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno), and then look for the Marketplace client - it is in the General Purpose Tools category.
There is one More easy way to add Eclipse MarketPlace
1. Go to http://eclipse.org/mpc/archive.php and download mpc zip for your eclipse.
2. Than go to Eclipse -> Help -> Install New Software and Add and select Archive file Location
then press ok, it will check dependency and install it.
And Enjoy....
