I'm facing an issue where our spring boot application will only run if a subproject is included. A rough project sketch:
Backend
This is where the Main Class is located. This project also contains the spring repository which are exposed via REST, the filters and REST configuration. The data itself is included in the backend-module project.
backend-module
This is where the actual Java Classes which hold the data are located. They are used in conjunction with hibernate.
Now the application works fine unless I remove the backend-module from the Java Build Path in the eclipse Project preferences. But if I remove the reference the application launch will fail but not for a missing component from the backendmodule but for missing spring boot components:
Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/springframework/data/repository/support/RepositoryInvokerFactory
The pom.xml files of the project are almost the same.
I'll happily include all the information someone may need.
Thanks
EDIT 1:
The pom.xml of the Backend Project.

Apparently the issue was fixed by dropping a lot of the version statements in the pom.xml files and upgrading Spring Boot to the latest version.
If I understood the hastily given explanation correctly our Spring boot release didn't have the right versions of some Spring components packed into it.
Sorry if someone has a similar issue and finds this answer insufficient.

I'm trying to add http4 to my Camel project. According to the documentation it looks like I only need to add these two Maven dependencies using the Camel version. But I get an error from Eclipse:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.camel</groupId>
<artifactId>camel-http4</artifactId>
<version>${camel-version}</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.camel</groupId>
<artifactId>camel-http4-starter</artifactId>
<version>${camel-version}</version>
</dependency>
But Eclipse give an error: "Missing artifact org.apache.camel:camel-http4:jar:3.11.1"
I don't see the dependency in the list. I tried using Maven > Update Project. I also tried closing and re-opening the project. I also tried adding these to another project and got the same thing. I'm not sure what I have wrong here.

I tried re-indexing the local repository, and a few other Eclipse tricks to try causing things to refresh, but they don't seem to help. I also tried using camel-http. That finds the jar, but not for the starter.
<!-- This one works -->
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.camel</groupId>
<artifactId>camel-http</artifactId>
<version>${camel-version}</version>
</dependency>
<!-- But this one still give the missing artifact error -->
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.camel</groupId>
<artifactId>camel-http-starter</artifactId>
<version>${camel-version}</version>
</dependency>
camel-http4 was renamed in Camel 3.x, you can find this in the migration guide.
The reason is that older http-clients than 4.x were dropped for Camel 3.x, so camel-http4 is now the only one and therefore simply camel-http.
What was referenced in Camel 2.x as
<groupId>org.apache.camel</groupId>
<artifactId>camel-http4-starter</artifactId>
has changed in Camel 3.x to
<groupId>org.apache.camel.springboot</groupId>
<artifactId>camel-http-starter</artifactId>
Notice the "springboot" in the groupId and simply "http" in the artifactId.
I have a project A that where i created a folder called lib to add libraries in it. Currently i have Ojdb7.jar in this folder. Now, When I add the dependency for ojdbc7 in the POM file I get error "Missing artifacts".
I know there is an option to install it using :
$ mvn install:install-file -Dfile={Path/to/your/ojdbc7.jar}
-DgroupId=com.oracle -DartifactId=ojdbc7 -Dversion=12.1.0 -Dpackaging=jar
and it works fine when I run the command but What I want to do is to run mvn package command from cmd (mvn packge will run install before packaging the project to jar file). I tried the pom file below but i get error could not find artifact for the path I specified in repository tag

<packaging>jar</packaging>
<generatePom>true</generatePom>
</configuration>
<goals>
<goal>install-file</goal>
</goals>
</execution>
</executions>
</plugin>
but my issue is that i don't want to hard code this path ${project.basedir}/ojdbc7.jar
Because I run this in Jenkins and it failed. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
**Adding screen shot
Here another shot from eclipse Problems:
I have an spring boot app that leverage the java 8 and have used hibernate 4 so far. I needed however to change part of my model to include the new ZonedDateTime class provided by java8 i.e. I needed a datatime type that provide me the instance of time in utc together with the offset and the time zone. For that reason i wanted to have the native hibernate 5 support. I have replaced in my pom the the parts:
//<dependency>
// <groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
// <artifactId>hibernate-core</artifactId>
// <version>4.3.10.Final</version>
//</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
<artifactId>hibernate-java8</artifactId>
<version>5.0.0.CR2</version>
</dependency>
and i have changed in my SpringPercisence confguration class to use the hibernate 5 instead of hibernate 4 i.e.
#Bean
public org.springframework.orm.hibernate5.LocalSessionFactoryBean sessionFactory() {
// org.springframework.orm.hibernate4.LocalSessionFactoryBean sessionFactory = new LocalSessionFactoryBean();
org.springframework.orm.hibernate5.LocalSessionFactoryBean sessionFactory = new LocalSessionFactoryBean();
sessionFactory.setDataSource(this.dataSource());
sessionFactory.setPackagesToScan("org.test");
sessionFactory.setHibernateProperties(hibernateProperties());
return sessionFactory;
}
#Bean
// public org.springframework.orm.hibernate4.HibernateTransactionManager transactionManager() {
public org.springframework.orm.hibernate5.HibernateTransactionManager transactionManager() {
HibernateTransactionManager txManager = new HibernateTransactionManager();
txManager.setSessionFactory(sessionFactory().getObject());
return txManager;
}
#Bean
public PersistenceExceptionTranslationPostProcessor exceptionTranslation() {
return new PersistenceExceptionTranslationPostProcessor();
}
#Bean
public Properties hibernateProperties() {
return new Properties() {
{
setProperty("hibernate.dialect", "org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect");
setProperty("hibernate.chach.provider_class", "org.hibernate.cache.NoCacheProvider");
setProperty("hibernate.show_sql", "true");
// setProperty("hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto", "create");
setProperty("hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto", "create-drop");
// setProperty("hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto", "update");
}
};
}
I am getting an error that is somehow related to the "sessionFactory" bean that configured above, and later it says something about ImplicitNamingStrategy. I have read here
http://in.relation.to/2015/03/31/hibernate-orm-500-beta-1-release/
that hibernate NamingStrategy has been removed but i do not understand what exactlly that mean. Since i was not able to find an example of hibernat and spring4 i hope that someone could help me out here with this one.

Your pom is containing a lot of clutter and working around Spring Boot defaults. I suggest using the correct starters and not add the dependencies again. Also instead of using java-version use java.version this will set the correct version for Spring Boot also and thus you could remove the compiler plugin.
Also support for Hibernate 5 CR2 has been added to Spring 4.2 in the latest release candidate of Spring 4.2 (RC3). So I suggest using that instead of the one you are using now. Also I suggest specifying the hibernate.version as a property to trigger Spring Boot to include the correct version.
All this leads to the following pom (did a bit of cleanup and moving things around to my personal preference).
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Note 1: Why are you using Jetty dependencies while you are using Tomcat?
Note 2: Parts of tomcat are provided others not? Why? Do you or do you not want to use an embedded tomcat.

But I am unable to generate the class files inside the target directory. Except class files I got everything. My Project Structure is, Projectname>src>com>...source files. I am following the same structure for my other application and I am getting the class files in that. But dont know where I am missing. Even the both pom.xml are similar
Your java source files need to go to src/main/java by maven convention (not src)
I'm new to maven, I'm using it with eclipse on Windows 7. And I'm trying to use maven with my test project and here is my pom.xml file :

SLF4J: Failed to load class "org.slf4j.impl.StaticLoggerBinder"
SLF4J: Defaulting to no-operation (NOP) logger implementation
SLF4J: See http://www.slf4j.org/codes.html#StaticLoggerBinder for further details
I can see the org.slf4j.impl.StaticloggerBinder does exits in the dependencies , why can't it be loaded ? , am I missing some jar files or is there a version problem.
Any help please?
You're missing an actual logging implementation
Try adding the following dependency :
<dependency>
<groupId>ch.qos.logback</groupId>
<artifactId>logback-classic</artifactId>
<version>1.0.11</version>
</dependency>
