I made an app in Xcode 6.1, it was approved by apple, no issues. I updated to Xcode 7.0.1 and now I have device orientation issue on the same app. I have same exact code for iPad and iPhone. However, when I click my Facebook button for sharing only the iPhone versions, never flip to Upside Down orientation even though i use UIInterfaceOrientationMask.
Could something like this be a bug in Xcode 7.0.1 or is Social Framework updated now for Xcode 7.0.1 or is SLComposeViewController different for iPhones for Xcode 7.0.1? I'm lost, what can be the issue?

I recently upgraded xcode to 4.2.1 (with macOS 10.7.3).
I have two iphone which one is 4GS and the other is 3GS. And when I upgraded both phone to iOS 5.1, 4GS works well but 3GS not works with following error message.
The version of iOS on “Test iPhone” does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK.
xcode says it support from iOS 5.0 (9A334).
And I want to know if this is from my mis-configuration of device or officially iPhone 3GS is not supported yet.
Is there anyone who suffers similar problem ?
Well, you may want to go to xcode 4.3.1, which was released recently along with the 5.1 SDK.
After the installation you will have to re-install simulators for older iOS and debug support for older devices respectively even older iOS versions.
Out of the top of my head: In the top left corner of xcode in the drop down list where you select your build target and the targetting device/simulator there should be some menu item "install more simulators" or so. Click on that and follow the GUI. It is quite selfexplaining but the downloads may take some time.
To develop in iOS 5.1 you have to upgrade sdk to latest one. I cant understand how you'r 4Gs worked fine
iOS project. Base SDK 4.2, deployment target 3.0. A customer is complaining about an issue on iOS 3.1 (he has an old device).
I tried installing Xcode 3.2.3 - the oldest there is for download. It does not offer iOS 3.1 as a test target. Does anyone know how can I enable older versions of iOS on the simulator?
The box also has Xcode 4 (in a different folder). Could it be the case that they're sharing the iOS simulator, and the backwards-incompatible one from Xcode 4 is getting in the way?
There is no substitute for testing on a real device.
I've had a problem with my iPod touch (3rd gen, ios 5.0) crashing in one app. Every day. The dev won't buy, beg, borrow or steal a real iPod touch to test it on so he can fix it. As a user this is extremely frustrating.
EDIT:
The final versions of Xcode with the iPhone SDK, as it was called then, are not available from Apple's download page, but the direct links still work.
The direct links can be found at:
http://chris-fletcher.com/2010/08/28/howto-install-iphone-sdk-2-0-3-1-for-xcode-3-2/
If you use the latest Xcode, you can install device debugging support via the Downloads->Components section, a la: http://cl.ly/3U1V1G3W2p2E1G29342e
http://iphonesdkdev.blogspot.com/2010/04/old-versions-of-iphone-sdk.html
Some of the links are dead though. Apple is removing those old files little by little. Get them while supplies last.
I am trying to add iAds in my existing Iphone application. I have implemented everything by following: http://www.raywenderlich.com/1371/how-to-integrate-iad-into-your-iphone-app
but the ads do not show up in my app. I am using XCode 4.0.1 and iOS 4.3.3.
I can't even run the example given on that link. When I run my existing code on XCode 3.x version everything works fine and ads show up correctly.
Can anyone tell me what's the problem with Xcode 4.0.1 version ?
Thanks.
I upgraded my XCode and it solved the issue. May be it was a bug with XCode
I'm working with a legacy app with a deployment target of 3.0. I have a crash being reported on iOS 3.1.3 for iPhone. In xcode 4 the only 3.x simulator I see listed is iPad 3.2
How do I test iOS 3.1.3 for iPhone?
See Install xCode 3.2.3 w/ iPhone SDK 4, get "Base SDK missing", can't see other SDKs for an extended discussion of this topic. Also, links to older Xcode and iOS SDK versions can be found at http://chris-fletcher.com/2010/08/28/howto-install-iphone-sdk-2-0-3-1-for-xcode-3-2/.
Buy a used iPhone or iPod Touch that has 3.1.3 installed and don't update the iOS on it. I have a 3G with 313, no cell service and just use it for testing on wifi. This is also useful to see check what the performance is like on a slower phone.
However, many 3.1.3 crashes are caused by using a 4.0 API call or object that is only in 4.0. You can find those problems on the 3.2 simulator.
It's not possible actually with Xcode4. If you can get old version of Xcode3.1 with iOS SDK 3.1 and install it side by side with Xcode4 then it may be possible.
I ran into a strange issue - iAd Tester app is no longer present in iPhone Simulator so I can't test iAds on it. I am using Xcode 3.2.4 with iOS 4.1 and iAd Framework 1.1.1. I tried re-installing the whole thing (Xcode and iAd package) and resetting the content of the simulator using command from the menu and manually deleting everything from ~/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator.
I think this happened after updating to latest Xcode a few weeks ago when everything worked fine. Any suggestions guys on where I am going wrong or missing something?

Your help is much appreciated.
Try switching the hardware version on the iPhone Simulator:
Hardware -> Version -> 4.0.1
You may lose all of your organizational folders but once I did this I found the iAd Tester app.
I think sometimes the Apple server is just variable in serving test ads. I have an app that serves test ads sometimes in the simulator but at other times never loads them. Perhaps this is Apple's way of testing the code so that it responds appropriately to errors.
same thing is happening to me. my colleague at work can see the iAd Test app, but he has a lower version of the iPhone simulator. Not sure how to downgrade though.
...edit...
found the app, it's on "page 2". obviously I am new to iphones, let alone iphone dev.
switching the OS as described in the other answer was necessary for me too
I got the same problem. Sometime my app doesn't display Ad correctly. But I post to AppStore, it passed the review process and I can see some requests from America.
