Is it possible to update the view on AEM between Edit and Preview Mode without having to refresh?
Maybe we are targetting the issue from the wrong angle but basically we need to modify the way components are being displayed on Edit Mode vs Preview Mode. Currently if we use a test statement to check what WCMMODE we are looking at we need to refresh the page in order for the right content to display.
I have the feeling that I have seen this being implemented in GeoMetrixx but I am not able to find an example.

By default, the markdown preview in VS Code opens on the Side. I do this action quite a bit and I always have to drag a drop it to the bottom of the current tab.
I looked in my settings to see if there was a way to change this default behavior and didn't see anything that looks like it would change it.
Any suggestions on how to change this default setting?
You can try to use one of the extensions that allow to execute multiple commands and do:
markdown.showPreviewToSide
workbench.action.toggleEditorGroupLayout
I am creating a dev. site to eventually replace an existing site and every time I inspect an element the body of the page shrinks down to a third of the left half of the page. It is also happening randomly with the slider where the image shows on only half the page from time to time. If I refresh the page it corrects it until I inspect an element again. It is making it impossible to work on this site and I have disabled the theme and gone to a stock theme as well as one by one disabled plugins trying to figure out what is causing this glitch and I have yet to determine what could be causing this issue. How can I fix it?
If you're using chrome dev tools (assuming the dev-tools window opens separate from chrome, not in the same window) my guess is that your device toolbar may be toggled.
Click this to turn it off, as it's used to test your site on a different screen sizes and could be shrinking your screen whenever you inspect something.
It's possible that you have your Dev tools Emulator on which helps you emulate the web page in different device sizes. Try closing the emulator by clicking on it.
I have recently upgraded from Delphi7 to Delphi XE5 and one of the differences that first jumped out at me is that by default, the IDE sets a forms default position to be in the top left corner of the screen instead of the center of the desktop like it was in D7 and I have looked all around in the options menu and have yet to find a way to set it so that when a new project is created, all forms default to be positioned in the center of the desktop and was hoping I was overlooked the option to do this or to confirm if it was not possible to set this option to be default.
I know there is the little box at the bottom right hand side of the form designer pane which allows you to move the form around so it is placed anywhere on the screen and of course you can set it to be in the center of the screen using the object inspector, but if I could set it to default to this position by "setting and forgetting" an option in the IDE, than that would be one less thing I need to bother with when starting a new project.
Anyway, any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance for any and all replies.
I figured it out myself in a roundabout way. It does not answer the question to the exact specifications that it was asked in but it works out close enough for my needs. The trick was to set the (now hidden) "Embedded Menu Designer" option to FALSE in the registry which causes the form to float independent of the rest of the IDE like it used to in Delphi 7.
Why this option was hidden from the options panel in Delphi XE3 and above is beyond me, but at least there is a way to get it back to the classic look I was after.

Note: The article talks about XE3, but the same technique applies to other Delphi versions as well. All that needs to be changed is the version number in the registry branch needs to match the version of Delphi that is being using. Everything else remains the same.
Isn't poDesktopCenter (TForm.Position property) enough? You set it in design time and forget about this.
I don't know what will happen if you have 1500x1200 form and the screen resolition is 800x600 - try it youself :)
I'm getting started with windows 8 visual studio.
I would like to embed user controls inside user controls, like I used to do in vb.net. The designer allows me to do this, I can visually create user control uc1, and put some controls on it. Then, I make a new user control, uc2. While I am editing uc2, uc1 is available in the toolbox, and I have built the project so it should be up to date.
But if I put uc1 into uc2, the frame is visible, but the contents are not, either at design time or runtime.
Am I missing something or is this something you can't do in windows 8?
Thanks
Sorry, not sure what I was doing wrong but I tried it all again and it seems to be working now.
NOTE: I have rephrased the title because I'm not getting any answers. Surely someone out there has experienced this problem and knows what to do. Thank you!
I have an iPhone web app that works almost perfectly in Safari on the desktop. Only two things do not work correctly on the desktop:
Radio buttons do not appear. They are operational because you can check one if you know where it is; it simply is invisible.
When SELECT is used, the little box with the default selection in it and the little down arrow do not appear. However, the actual text of the default selection DOES appear. If I click on that text the drop-down menu appears as it should.
In both cases the problem seems to have to do with icons missing or not rendered as needed.
What is the problem and how can I correct it?
Thank you.
Dave
Have you tried changing your user agent to Mobile Safari? If you turn on the Develop menu in Safari advanced prefs, you can then test the app in different environments. It's just a thought.
