Difference between SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 - moodle

What are the core differences between SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004?
I have to publish my elearning course to SCORM and then upload to moodle. but there are two version of SCORM 1.2 and 2004. I am getting confused which one should be used to upload course on moodle.

There are a number of additional features of SCORM 2004 including some additional tracking fields and sequencing and navigation capability. However, many tools that publish to SCORM 2004 don't actually take advantage of these features and just send the same data as they would with SCORM 1.2. Further, Moodle's built in SCORM module only has partial support for SCORM 2004.
My advice: unless you have a specific reason to use SCORM 2004, use SCORM 1.2.

what is Request header /Content length in chrome devtools for scorm package in LMS?

actually my LMS provider is saying that scorm package is sending too much data to lms which killing the server. I have made a scorm package in Articulate storyline, and LMS provider is saying that problem in my scorm package but that lesson behaving differently every time for different users. Content length should be in kb but it's going in Mb. Please anyone tell me is really a problem of content or LMS, because when we uploaded this scorm package to LMS 1 year back, was working fine but now they are saying that now they have identified this problem after getting so many queries regarding LMS slow speed.
PFB, screenshot which they have shared with us.
https://prnt.sc/1170b4i
The issue is with the LMS as most of them limit the length of questions and/or answers (interactions) to 255. If your Scorm is v1.2 then you should also ensure that there are no Unicode or UTF8 characters in the interactions. Scorm 2004 doesn't have this problem.

SCORM 2004 - 3rd Edition

I've created a some pages into HTML/CSS/Javascript having assessment as well. but now need to implement Scorm 2004 3rd into my package. So can anyone suggest or guide me the process to implement? or can anyone provide me sample with scorm complaint?
Please see https://github.com//cybercussion/SCOBot/wiki. Tons of info, downloadable examples.
What you are asking is a massive subject. At the top of it all is -
Are you progressing one page at a time on the LMS?
Or are you progressing all pages within your assessment (SCO)?
This greatly changes your outcome and what you'll need to do.
There is an example of a one page progression on that wiki. Fail that, your're building out your own navigation and will need to use AJAX to load your pages.

What are iTextSharp copyrights

What are iTextSharp copyrights?
can I use it (without modifying it) in my project? I need to use it a PDF generation tool,
Any advise is appreciated.
thanks a lot,
This question is more or less a duplicate of several questions that were already answered on StackOverflow, but it isn't an exact duplicate of a single question. I have bundled several of these question in the free ebook The Best iText Questions on StackOverflow. If you want the full answer, I advise you to read the legal section of this book. I'll do an attempt to give a short answer here.
I am a Mentor at the Founder Institute and I use these slides to explain copyright and copyleft. You can find the text that explains slide 3 in my answer to the question Is iText Java library free of charge or have any fees to be paid?
You explicitly say that you do not modify the iTextSharp source code, which means you have probably read the copyleft license. However, you have doubts about the interpretation of the word "modifying". Allow me to copy/past from my book:
Start quote:
Free software is licensed software. iText is free software. That doesn’t mean that iText is for free: iText has always been distributed with a copyleft license.
Some people only read the first part in the definition of "copyleft". They read about receiving "permission to reproduce, adapt or distribute" iText, but they forget about the second part: "as long as any resulting copies or adaptations are also bound by the same copyleft licensing scheme."
iText versions pre-dating iText 5 were licenses using a weak copyleft license (more specifically the MPL/LGPL). This means that you can use such a version in an application that isn’t bound by the copyleft license. Your only obligation is to distribute the changes you make to iText under the MPL, the LGPL, or the MPL/LGPL. In theory, those versions can still be used inside applications that are not free. In practice, you should no longer use those old versions for both technical as well as legal reasons (as explained in one of the previous questions).
Starting with iText 5, iText has increased software freedom, in the sense that the license was changed to a very strong (some use the word "viral") copyleft license, more specifically the AGPL. When you use iText in an application that you distribute or when you use iText in a web application that allows
people to directly use iText (through a SaaS application, on a web site,...), you have to distribute all the source code that touches iText under the same license and under the same license only.
Some people argue: "We do not modify iText, hence we are not bound by the AGPL."
That assumption is incorrect. Writing a web application that uses iText is considered being a modification in the context of the AGPL and putting this application on a web server for people to access is considered being distribution.
End quote
In short: in a court room, linking your application to the iTextSharp DLL is considered being a modification, even if you do not change anything to the DLL. All modifications have to be distributed under the AGPL, hence your application has to be distributed under the AGPL. This way you contribute to the community.
If you do not want to share your source code under the AGPL, or if you want to distribute your code under a dual license to make money, you can escape from the obligations of the AGPL by purchasing a commercial license.
This way you also contribute to the open source project, as the money you pay is used to pay the salaries of about 20 people who work full-time for the iText group (and indirectly you pay for many more people such as accountants, freelancers, attorneys, etc. working for iText).
If you think this is unfair, think about how you would feel if you were not rewarded for the work you are doing. You don't want situations like what happened to the guy who wrote PGP who depends on charity, do you?

Microsoft Solver Foundation: Enterprise edition

Where can I download the enterprise edition of Microsoft Solver Foundation? I am able to get the express edition online, but it has a limit on the number of variables and constraints. I want to solve large LPs using the enterprise edition.
Historically it was available as a purchase from Gurobi.
However the software is now defunct(*) and I no longer see it on their site. You can see how it used to look here.
You might try contacting them directly.
(*)In May 2012 last year, the Solver Foundation team wrote:
The current 3.1 release of MSF will be the last release as a standalone install. We are working hard on integrating Microsoft Solver Foundation into a larger analytics framework that will help users build both prescriptive and predictive analytics. We look forward to releasing this new product for your use as soon as we are able to do so. This new product will provide a migration path for current Solver Foundation users and partners.
if you have msdn subscription, then try standard edition first. also academic license is an option if eligible.

Download a copy of Adobe CQ5

I would like to take a look at Adobe CQ5 CMS system. Does anybody know if I can download it to my developer computer? I can not find link on web site.
I know Adobe offers CRX as opensource - but my interest is in CQ5 cms.
You can download it. Adobe has re-branded and re-released Communique since acquiring Day Software. CQ5 is now known as ADEP. Read about it in Adobe's ADEP Architecture Guide: http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/solutions/customer-experience-solutions/enterprise-platform/pdfs/adep-2011-architecture-considerations-for-new-and-existing-customers-ue.pdf. Here is an excerpt:
The Day CQ and CRX product lines have been incorporated into ADEP. CRX forms the foundation of the Experience Services stack, and CQ has been branded as the new Web Experience Management solution.
Architecturally, these products are unchanged, enabling a smooth upgrade experience in the future.
New customers requiring the web content management capabilities of CQ should purchase and develop
their applications on one of the Web Experience Management solution editions (Basic, Standard, Premium).
The Web Experience Management solution incorporates all the capabilities of CQ 5.4.
Download a trial version of ADEP here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/enterprise-platform/trial-downloads.html
According to my rep you need to engage with Adobe to get a copy. We don't have it in house yet as the do want a training session so that users aren't frustrated with the complexity. I've played around on a test site and also played with it at conventions and it seems like one of the better designed CMS options at the moment.
I am working on CQ5, its a very advanced CMS tool as compared to the others. But its not a open source like other Drupal, Joomla, etc. You have to purchase the developer suite.
Refer to the links for online document support.
CQ5 generally requires a license. However, you CAN get started with the various components. CQ5 is a system built on top of Felix (OSGi console), Jackrabbit(JCR), and a few other pieces, e.g. ExtJS for a lot of front end stuff. If you learn these technologies you won't 'know' CQ5 but you will have a big step up in terms of learning it.
The best thing to do is learn SLING.
http://sling.apache.org/documentation/getting-started/discover-sling-in-15-minutes.html
If you really understand Sling and OSGI, the JCR stuff is pretty trivial. Mastery of these core technologies makes CQ/AEM pretty straightforward.
Adobe CQ5 is a tool being used for creating websites having content-oriented pages. This is a product of Adobe, so you cannot get it free.
Instead, to get a glimpse of it, please refer developer website of Day OR adobe CQ. Also, we have some useful URLs, which can be referred: http://vimeo.com/39504016 (an introduction video) ; http://docs.adobe.com/ ; http://adobecq5interviewquestions.wordpress.com/introduction-to-cq/
