CakeDC Users Plugin: Disable/Override Username Validation - plugins

How to configure CakeDC's Users plugin to override/disable the username field?
I have reconfigured the plugin to use 'email' field as username for login - and it works great for login - but I no longer need the username field validation in the registration.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Using CakePHP 3.1 and CakeDC User plugin 3.1.3

You can override the Users table and configure your own validation rules, etc following this page in the documentation https://github.com/CakeDC/users/blob/3.1.x/Docs/Documentation/Extending-the-Plugin.md#extending-the-model-tableentity
Once you are done with the new Table, don't forget to pass the new table configuration to Users Plugin Configuration using the parameter
'Users.table' => 'MyUsers',
The plugin was built with extension in mind. You should be able to extend/override any feature in your project.
Please feel free to open a ticket here https://github.com/CakeDC/users/issues if you find something we could improve.
Thanks,

Where else can I find alternate login URL aside from $CFG->alternateloginurl

I'm currently troubleshooting a login issue for a deployed Moodle. Login page uses an alternate page which I have managed to identify. The alternate page considers everything except successful login as invalid or expired login or password.
Since some correct login and password are also getting the same issue.I am trying to restore the Moodle instance to use its default login page but did not find any $CFG->alternateloginurl configuration set in moodle.php. Kindly please provide any pointers you can think of on where to look next to restore the login page.
PS: I've also searched within the active theme, and there has not been any code changes. Uses a variant of Moove
Thank you
Rest assured that its a common issue
https://docs.moodle.org/401/en/Managing_authentication#Alternate_login_URL
There is an entry in the database
SELECT *
FROM mdl_config
WHERE name = 'alternateloginurl'
Note the value, just in case, then blank it out
UPDATE mdl_config
SET value = ''
WHERE name = 'alternateloginurl'
Then purge the cache to update Moodle
php admin/cli/purge_caches.php
When you do manage to log in, check which other authentication methods are active via
Site administration > Plugins > Authentication > Manage authentication
https://docs.moodle.org/401/en/Managing_authentication
The default methods are manual and email self registration
Although self registration is disabled by default in the settings on the same page (registerauth)

How to configure Moodle O365 SSO directly from the server?

Maybe some of you have faced a similar issue.. I am trying to automate Moodle deployment (including O365 SSO). I use auth_oidc plug downloaded from here https://moodle.org/plugins/auth_oidc . I registered an app in Azure: got client id and secret, and now I want to "add" these values to my moodle server. I know I can easily achieve by manually going to plugin settings in my Moodle site but I want to automate it and pass these values directly to a function which, from my understanding is located here /moodlesite.com/auth/oidc/settings.php (correct me if I am wrong). So any ideas how to achieve it??
If you look in settings.php there are 2 settings:
$settings->add(new admin_setting_configtext('auth_oidc/clientid', $configkey, $configdesc, '', PARAM_TEXT));
$settings->add(new admin_setting_configtext('auth_oidc/clientsecret', $configkey, $configdesc, '', PARAM_TEXT));
Those settings are saved in a table called mdl_config_plugins
So after installation you should be able to update them via SQL
UPDATE mdl_config_plugins
SET value = 'xxx'
WHERE plugin = 'auth_oidc'
AND name = 'clientid';
UPDATE mdl_config_plugins
SET value = 'xxx'
WHERE plugin = 'auth_oidc'
AND name = 'clientsecret';

Sitecore - WFFM : Link contact facet with user profile field

I'm working on a Sitecore 8 Update 2 site.
I'm also using the web forms for marketers.
I've set up a login and register form using WFFM. I was able to link fields on the form with the fields of the user profile ( the one used in User Management )
However when i want to make a "Update Contact Details" i can't link the fields on the form with the profile fields as before. Now i have to select a "contact facet". I added one of these and WFFM picked up on this, so now i can link the field on the form with a facet.
The last link i'm missing is linking this facet ( stored in Analytics - MongoDB ) to the profile field.
Does anyone know how to achieve this ?
Bonus: This started off as a slighty different question, you can read more about this issue here:
How to update sitecore user with webforms for marketers ( Update Contact Details )
First you need to add the Create User Save Action and setup the email address as the username.
Then you need to add the User login Save Action straight after that. This is because the Update Contact Details Save action only applies to logged in users.
Then you can use the Update Contact Details Save Action. This action will create data in MongoDB under the logged in user name - so if you go to the Identifiers collection MongoDB a new entry will be created (See screen shot below).
So in short the aspnet_membership data and the MongoDB data is linked via the username in WFFM. In aspnet_users - UserName and in MongoDB by way of an identifier. You can't mix the MongoDB and aspnet_profile data they belong in two separate places.
So once you have created this user in WFFM you could call up their details using the analytics API using the identifier:
Tracker.Current.Session.Identify(username);
var personalInfo = Tracker.Current.Contact.GetFacet<IContactPersonalInfo>("Personal");
Hope that makes sense :)

Set Site Permissions for a Role Programmatically Liferay 6.2

I am creating a startup hook script for liferay to add and preconfigure Roles for Liferay 6.2 behind the scenes.
Specifically I am looking to add the type of permissions that can be accessed through Control Panel > Roles > Actions> Define Permissions.
Currently I am able to add Liferay Roles, but have so far been unsuccessful in finding the correct way to add custom permissions to the Roles programmatically. I see there was a way to do this in prior Liferay versions, but do not see it here.
https://www.liferay.com/community/forums/-/message_boards/message/2965424
https://www.liferay.com/web/guest/community/forums/-/message_boards/message/124558
So far I have investigated RolePermissionUtil, RoleLocalServiceUtil, among other available services.
Let me know if this is available through the service to be added to a startup hook or if this can only be done in the UI.
It appears that the API has changed since these posts.
Thank you in advance for your help
Figured it out using ResourcePermissionLocalServiceUtil.setResourcePermissions and RoleLocalServiceUtil.
Eg.
RoleLocalServiceUtil.fetchRole(CompanyThreadLocal.getCompanyId(), "Role Name");
ResourcePermissionLocalServiceUtil.setResourcePermissions(CompanyThreadLocal.getCompanyId(), Role.class.getName(), ResourceConstants.SCOPE_GROUP_TEMPLATE, String.valueOf(role.getRoleId()), role.getRoleId(), new String[] {ActionKeys.VIEW, ActionKeys.UPDATE, ActionKeys.DELETE});
I used CompanyThreadLocal to obtain the Company Id because I am using this in a hook not a portlet, where typically it would be accessed through the theme display. Here I am just adding access to Roles, but other class namespaces could be added. (eg. "com.liferay.portlet.dynamicdatalists.model.DDLRecordSet")

SUGARCRM plugin - webservice client with setup

I have a task to develop plugin for SugarCRM. Plugin should be "hooked" to contacts, leads and/or targets.
After I add contact to SugarCRM plugin should send data (with some fileds) to specific webservice (method to insert new person into DB).
I did create logical hook to contacts and before save I send data to webservice.
My biggest problem are fields. SugarCRM admin should be able to make setup for plugin like this
Plugin gets list of fields from webservice
Admin maps fields from "SugarCRM contacts" to "webservice persons" fields
for example
SugarCRM contact | webservice person
"first_name" => "firstname"
"last_name" => "familyname"
"gender" => "mf"
....
So when contact is added to SugarCRM, plugin should be able to read this setup and match every field before sending to webservice.
Can someone give me tips how to start with this, is there something similar online?
Thanks
You could create a dropdown menu where the left value is the SugarCRM Field name and the right value is the Webservice field name. Then direct users/system administrator to modify this dropdown in the Dropdown Editor, which has a nice and easy interface.
The plugin can then access this menu as a key => value array with $GLOBALS['app_list_strings']['my_list_name']
Alternatively, you can create your own configuration page if you want to develop a custom interface for this. A starting point for that might be this article, although it was written with SugarCRM 6 in mind: http://www.profilingsolutions.com/archive/quick-configuration-pages/
The configuration page would write to the Configurator (stored in config_override.php), as Antonio Musarra pointed out.
Either way, a caveat you'll encounter is that users will mistype field names. You'll need some sort of validation in your webservice call to ensure that all fields actually exist within the web server and within SugarCRM.
