I am using AutoCAD 2014 LT.
I have bought a library on AutoCAD which lets me insert blocks as slide very easily, through a CUI menu (ACADLT/Partial Customization/CustomLibrary/Menus).
I would like to add a slide file (which a already have).
From what I've been able to find online, I have to modify the macro, but the macro itself is really short:
$!=CustomLib-1.image_sub $!=* //Where sub changes depending on which submenu is selected
I understand the $ means its DIESEL language, but I do not understand the !, or what the image command means. I tried to go edit the CustomLib-1.CUI file in WordPad, but it clearly says I should modify it in AutoCAD through the CUI. I also have a CUIX file but I can't seem to open it, either in WordPad or AutoCAD.
I know I'm not missing much, but the last step is where I've been stuck for the past few days.

I sometimes use VSCode for a Delphi 7 project because I like VSCode's git functionality and for a few other reasons (superior string search, diff, etc).
Delphi 7 is a pain, and to get it to consistently compile I need to convert the dfm files to their binary version (all 2300 of them). This of course makes them unviewable in the diff viewer, or to just open the file?
Is there a setting where if I open that file, it will first pass it through the convert.exe (that's its actual name) util so that it can be viewed as a text? I understand that this might be read-only, which would be sufficient to my needs (though if on save it could just pass it back through, that'd be great too).
I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly to to search for on Google (the keywords seem too generic), but I can imagine some generalized functionality that would work for other environments beyond just Delphi/pascal.
I am trying to combine two different VI in labview, and am not sure where to start. I am at a beginner level, and I tried copy and pasting the block diagram from one VI into the block diagram of another. I don't know where to go from there; the controls for the second diagram don't show up after copy pasting it, and I couldn't put the whole thing into a subvi since it has more than 28 connectors. I don't think copy pasting it will work, but I was wondering if anyone knew where to start.

in a textbook, examples on the book companion website are given in Maple, using a .mws file format.
I do not have Maple but I am interested in studying the code of the examples.
I wonder if there is a conversion tool for Linux that allows me to export to text or at least to view the content of the script.
I am aware there exist a free Maple player but from the product description it is not clear if it allows to see the script content or just "play" with the inputs it defines.
I did also try this Maple-to-Python converter, but it's very alpha and it just doesn't work.
The Maple Player should definitely be able to open any .mws file. You won't be able to run commands, but you can at least read the code contained in the file.
Maple itself can export .mws files to text, but other than that, I haven't heard of any other converters for extracting the code from these files.
I'm still getting used to Matlab, and not sure if this is possible using Matlab or not, but it's just something that popped into my head that I thought could be interesting.
Is there any way to edit the contents of a text file in Matlab?
Moreover, is there any way to edit specific parts of the text file without altering the rest?
To elaborate, let's say I had a text file that was several lines long. For instance:
This is a hypothetical text file.
The cat chased a mouse.
The mouse ran into a hole.
The cat tried to paw at the mouse.
The mouse waited in the hole until the cat got bored.
The mouse came back out when the cat left.
Is there any way to use Matlab to exclusively edit, say, line 6 and change it from "The mouse waited in the hole until the cat got bored" to "The mouse fell asleep and the cat got bored", without having to change the rest of the file?
I know of several methods to read and display contents of text files using Matlab, but I'm not sure if there's any way to actually edit the text files in Matlab.

As far as I know, you will always have to read the file line by line (for instance into a cell-array) and edit it as you need. After that, you write a new file or overwrite the old one.
Of course, you can encapsulate this procedure and then call you own function like
manipulateFile(lineNumber, newLineText)
Some commands that may come in handy are fopen, fscanf, textread, fprintf, and fclose.
I have a custom package that I find myself reusing repeatedly in Dymola models, and I'd like to put this package in a common directory that is automatically loaded whenever I start Dymola. My current strategy is to load the custom package when a model I'm working on is loaded and then save total. This is not elegant because the contents of the custom package end up saved in multiple locations across my hard drive, and if I change one of them, the changes are not reflected everywhere. I would like a more robust way of distributing this custom package to all of my models. Is there a way to tell Dymola to automatically load my custom packaged every time?
The trick is to add the following lines to settings.mos in c:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Dynasim:

openModel("c:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Dymola\UserDefined\package.mo")
The first line adds the directory to the path that Dymola uses to search for packages that have not been loaded prior to the first run of a model, and the second line loads the specified package. These two commands may be somewhat redundant, but I am doing both because I want to make sure my custom packages are on the path in addition to loading the UserDefined package.
Two suggestions. First, you need to add your package to the MODELICAPATH. You'll have to consult the Dymola documentation to figure out exactly what you need to do. But normally, what this means is that you have to set an environment variable that gives a list of directories (; separated) to be searched for your package. Now that will put it in your path so it can find it automatically, but it won't load it until it needs it.
If you want it to always appear in the package browser, you'll probably need to set up a .mos file (script) to load it. Dymola has that capability, but you'll have to read the manual to figure out what that script has to be called and where Dymola expects to find it.

In the instalation folder of Dymola 2018 -> insert -> dymola.mos
I've added the lines:

Now I don't get the utilities sentence, as the DCOL package loads fine without it and the added 'utilities' package in the package menu is useless.
But it does not open the Annex60 package.
I've tried a lot of different combinations and can't get multiple packages to load. I doubt that "cd" and "Advanced.ParallelizeCode", which are also added in the text work.
The accepted answer does not work since Dymola 2017 FD01, as the file settings.mos is not used anymore. User settings are stored in the setup.dymx file instead, located in
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\DassaultSystemes\Dymola
In contrast to the setup.mos file you can not include custom lines with modelica script in setup.dymx.
The answer using dymola.mos still works, but you need admin privileges to modify this file.
Here is a simple solution which works with all Dyomola versions:
You can pass a .mos-script as first parameter to the dymola.exe.
This can e.g. be done like this:
Create a .mos script somewhere with commands like openModel(), etc.
Create a desktop shortcut to Dymola.exe
Open the properties of the shortcut and add the path to the .mos script in the Target text field. It will then look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Dymola 2018 FD01\bin64\Dymola.exe" "C:\<some-path>\startup.mos"
Start Dymola with the desktop shortcut. The script will be executed and eventual errors or messages are displayed in the Commands window
Another suggestion where you don't need to hardcode your package into an environment variable of your operating system (and maybe more safe for inexperienced programmers):
Go to the folder where Dymola is installed (e.g. C:\Program Files\Dymola 2020).
Search for the Dymola.mos file in the insert-folder. 'insert' folder
Open the script (e.g., in notepad++)
Add the link(s) to your Dymola-library-package.mo file(s) here with the openModel statement
e.g., openModel("C:/IDEAS/package.mo"); Dymola.mos script
Save the script. Now, every time you open Dymola, your libraries will be loaded automatically.
