Oracle Report 2.5 ordering rows and columns with Oracle 10g - oracle10g

I work in a company that was working on an Oracle 8i Database along with Oracle Developer 2000 (Forms 4.5 & Reports 2.5). Recently, We are trying to update the Database to 10g. Everything seems to be working smoothly, but in the report the order of the rows are not ordered correctly. Also, the columns keeps switching places each time a report is requested. They work perfectly fine on the old database. Forgot to mention that we upgraded using the dump tool. We dumped the entire database from the old to the new database.
Anyone have an idea how to solve this problem.
Note: We don't have the source of either the forms or the reports. We only have the compiled modules.
Any help would really be appreciated

Why does EF want to create indexes after database restore?

After restoring a database from 1 server to another, I get an AutomaticMigrationsDisabledException from EF saying that the database does match the current model although they actually do match.
So I try to generate a migration from VS and it only contains a bunch of CreateIndex statements for which there already are indexes in the database. And sure enough, when I execute the migration, I get an error.
I previously restored the exact same database to yet another server without any problems. However, the servers are not completely identical. They are all SQL Server 2008, but some have different combinations of SP and KB applied to them.
I'm using EF 6.1.
Can you figure out what the problem is?
It is a bug in version 6.1, will be fixed in 6.1.1 - https://entityframework.codeplex.com/workitem/2167

Time datatype not showing in the Crystal Report VS2010

I have a weird problem with regards on Crystal Report bundled at visual studio 2010.
I'm trying to create a report which is the daily time record (TeacherID,date, time in, time out)
But after i include the table in the crystal report database expert, All TIME column not showing up. I tried several test if the cystal report is connected in the database for example i try to convert the TIME into DateTime then "Verify database" and oppps the Time columns (which is converted into DateTime) was shown up.
Structure of TeacherDTR in Crystal Reports
Structure in MSSQL Server
i tried to change TimeInAM from Time to DateTime
and oppppssss
i'm going crazy for this and spends lots of time
Thank you in advance!
Your issue is you are unable to see some of the columns in a table in database in crystal reports though they exist in database.
Follow the link this might be helpful to you. As this link discuss the similar problem.
finally i found the answer that works fine to me ..
when setting up the connection to the database i used sql server native client but it was wrong
the right one is Microsoft ole db sql provider for sql server

Comparing Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g Schema

I have a task at hand wherein we need to compare two database schemas at two different versions.
Actually an application has been upgraded to use Oracle 11g , older version of the application used Oracle 10g. Basically what needs to be checked is the differences in the schemas of the two different versioned applications mainly to check if no functionality is broken or no relevant schema change is missed
I did some R&D and found many tools are available to compare schemas, DB Solo etc. But my requirement being to compare two schemas at 2 different versions. The tools are available to compare schemas at same version.
Some of the solutions I came up with after having discussions with seniors
1) establish a DB link between the 2 DB schemas and do a comparison of USER_OBJECTS. This solution is however not feasible for us.
2) If we can get a TEXT like dump of both the schemas, a basic text comparison would give the schema differences.
However, I do not know how Solution 2 would be possible.
I have seen some older posts like
Compare two schemas and update the old schema with the new columns of new schema but I need a more simplistic solution!
Your help is appreciated.
Did you already try "Tools"->"Database Diff" from Oracle SQL Developer ?

What do I have to pay attention when upgrading from Firebird 1.5.6 to 2.5

I have problem with my Delphi + Firebird application that works on two Windows 7 machines.
Firebird database used is 1.5.6. and is placed on server machine and the client application is on the other.
From time to time application is freezeing itself for random time from 30 sec to 2 min.
Maybe upgradeing to the new version it will stop making problems to me.
You can first take a look at this which was a presentation during firebird conference 2011
Few things I ran into while I was upgrading were:
reserved word "type" was used as a column name in a table. I had to change it to something esle in database and application code.
my database used my own UDF, which was compiled in a manner, that made it impossible to use with Firebid 2.5 server. I had to recompile it, and since it was written in C, and I am not experienced C programmer, that was kinda challenge.

"Set Datasource Location" results in inescapable looping of DB login prompt

Here's the situation: I receive reports written by a vendor which are all developed on their own Oracle DB. Normally, there is no issue in setting a new datasource to our own Oracle DB, but this one report in particular is not playing nicely.
The report in question has 8 SQL Expressions, and a subreport with an additional 3 SQL Expressions (I mention this because I suspect this may have something to do with it, but not sure. Almost like CR is attempting to verify the SQL Expressions on the old DB). I'm able to update the data source of the subreport just fine, but when I try it with the main report, Crystal prompts me repeatedly for the login to the OLD DB where the report was developed (which I obviously do not have access to). The prompt is inescapable and I have to terminate Crystal's process each time.
I've tried unchecking all report and database checking/verification options in CR to no avail. If anyone has any advice as to what I could try next, it would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: Well, it looks like all I had to do is close the login window a BILLION times (OK, more like ~16, twice for each SQL Expression?). Leaving the question open, though, to see if there is any way to avoid having to go through this for future reports.
EDIT EDIT: Some more details. This is still happening with CR 2008 SP3 attempting to connect to an Oracle 11g database with 11g R2 client. I'm not sure about how these reports were developed, but it was with CR XI at the earliest.
I have seen this w/ migrated reports before, but it's been loong ago.
If you had to do it a million times, I would have guessed that you actually had 999,999 sub-reports -- all to the same old data source, all needing verification or failure to try the new data source. Sorry, I just re-read... I meant to put 'a BILLION' minus 1.
Did you check your TNSNames against (whatever config supplied by the vendor)?
Are you using the same driver used by the vendor Oracle reports? (Oracle driver vs MS ODBC for Oracle vs CR ODBC for Oracle vs MyPrettyPony ODBC Dri...)
Did you go through the Set DataSource exercise in CR?
Can you save the subreports seperately and run them individually w/out needing the (insert some large number) login window closures?
Can you create a new report, set to your own Oracle data source? (I have to assume this one is ok, based on your comments)
If you copy the Show SQL Query and use that as a Command query in a new report, does that run? (Rinse and repeat as sub-reports).
(I'm stalling for time as I search my memory for the last time I experienced the same...)
