Now I'm learning Roku's BrightScript. I found eclipse is a good IDE for BrightScript development. But I'm not sure, should I register in their Roku's developer website? I have a sample code. When I used to run the code , it is showing this
I just followed their instructions from here.
I don't know, how to solve this problem. I don't know why this is coming. Please help me to solve this issue. Also, you can give me the right direction for BrightScript development. And it is more appreciable.
Here are the details.
Eclipse: Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
Version: Juno Service Release 2
Build id: 20130225-0426
OS : ubuntu 14.04
Thank you
If you are not already a heavy user of Eclipse, installing that just for Roku would be undue pain and suffering. For more keep an eye on http://forums.roku.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=95340
The good news is there is no secret sauce in Eclipse - you can do BrightScript development with any favorite IDE of yours that supports VB Script syntax highlighting + manual (or trivial script) packaging and upload to Roku player.
Try following Installation Steps from here. Also there is a list of some useful features.

Is it just me or the documentation for PhoneGap installation is ridiculous? The steps are all over the place and no clear path to installing and using it. I found a couple of decent guides for use on MAC but nothing that is clear for Windows.
Got frustrated and uninstalled everything, eclipse, cordova, ant, android.
I want to just restart fresh with a clean install. Can anyone show me to a guide which has a step by step guide to windows. Or maybe you could guide me to exactly which are the stuff I need to install for phoneGap to work? For example is ant(apache) even needed? Not every guide mentions it.
I believe over all, the steps includes 2 parts. 1 is installing the various components such as eclipse and so on. 2nd is to interlink all these various components.
Not exaggerating but I've been at this for a week plus now and have looked around for a clear instruction and found nothing. Please help.
PS: If PhoneGap can be installed and linked with NetBeans, it would be great to know exactly how. Tnks.
You have only java, javafx in netbeans because you installed netbeans java edition.
Cordova is in the HTML5 package which is included in other editions like java EE edition or php edition.
In your netbeans version, you have to install the plugin:
Tools->Plugins-Available plugins, check HTML5 and click install.
Then you should be able to use the New project->HTML5->Cordova application.
You will still need cordova, android, ant... but the difference is that netbeans should setup everything for you.
Sorry I can't confirm as I have installed everything before netbeans.
I am starting a java SWT project with creme 4.12 jvm for a windows mobile 6.5 pocket pc.
I really dont know where to start. could not google out any good documentation or example, just a few questions in forums.
I would like to know:
Is there any good docs around that i was unable to find?
Do i have to put any extra configuration on eclipse or i can create and build a simple java project, with sdk 1.3.
I have included the swt-32.dll as native library in swt.jar
i have tried to run it on the device but it crashes before running.
Sorry for the long question, but i really dont know what to do.
I have not that much experience with CrEme although I know that some large WM installs use that.
I can do an AWT app in netbeans and run it successfully on a device.
Look for the netbeans mobility pack to start with CrEme and netbeans.
OTOH you can go on with eclipse. Where did you get the swt files from? I found one source here http://davy.preuveneers.be/phoneme/?q=node/15.
Here is one source I found for an intro to SWT on WM: http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-small-cup-of-swt/pocket-PC.html
I've installed eclipse on my new ubuntu 12.04 setup. I did the install through the software center. I went to create a Java project, but it looks like it doesn't have java development kit on it. I'm not sure why. I have never seen this after installing Eclipse. Any ideas why I wouldn't have any language support? It's basically just a bulky text editor at this point.
Default Eclipse in Ubuntu Software Center generally needs installation of extra packages, had the same problem many times. I strongly recommend downloading and installing from here.
You can download the java sdk and development tools right in eclipse which should fix your problem, I had the same problem before and that's how I solved it.

Getting started with PHP in Eclipse IDE
Doe's anyone know a tool / IDE / plugin in Eclipse for PHP development?
I already try the ZEND PDT but it seems that it has a bug and it doesn't install in my eclipse. I even follow this workaround in installing it but it still doesn't work.
My Eclipse verions is 4.1.2, OS is in Windows XP SP3.
The previous questions doesn't seems to have a solid answer. Please help. Thanks in advance.
Another very good IDE to devolpe in PHP is NetBeans:
http://netbeans.org/
I know you specifically asked for an Eclipse plugin, but let me take the liberty of recommending a non-Eclipse PHP IDE, because it's really good and deserves a mention here: PhpStorm from JetBrains.
If you're very keen on Eclipse, Aptana Studio is a good IDE based on the Eclipse code base.
Pardon a possibly dumb question, but why are you using Eclipse 4.1.2? I suspect that the problem is with a bug in the 3.x compatibility layer in that version.
Unless you have a real need to be using 4.1.2 (and since it was a beta, I'm not sure what that would be...), perhaps try again with 3.7.2, which is the version currently listed on the Eclipse download page[1].
Hope that helps!

I'm pretty new to J2ME development scene. And for that matter, have just recently installed, JDK 6 update 16 bundled with NetBeans 6.7.1 IDE and Sun WTK 2.5.2, on Ubuntu 9.04 machine. After going through some start up tutorials and basics, from various sites, I was eager to try some hands on experience by coding some 'Hello World' program. But to my dismay, I haven't been able to! After initial confusion, I'd installed 'Mobility' plugin for NetBeans IDE for J2ME development. But when I choose to create a new project, it turned out that, there is some error since now it says that 'No J2ME compatible platform/emulator found installed in NetBeans IDE'. I've searched through google to find a way to fix this issue but I couldn't find any solution on this matter.
Please help me to fix this issue. Do I need to re-install the IDE? Am I missing out something? I've tried various ways but the IDE simply doesn't detect any platform on my machine.
Thanks for your help.
Try this in Netbeans:
Click menu-item: Tools->Java Platforms
Click button: Add platform...
Choose radio-button: Java ME MIDP Platform Emulator
then click button: Next >
Find the directory where Netbeans 6.7.1 is installed
then click OK
WTK2.5.2 that comes with Netbeans should be visible. Select it and click Next and follow further instructions.
If no WTK is found the dowload it, unpack it and try as above again but find the directory to the WTK this time.
Hope this helps.
