Node-red switch node not working in IBM Bluemix - ibm-cloud

When using Node-Red from within IBM Bluemix I'm struggling to get the 'switch' node working in the current Node-Red version (v0.14.3). When I set a condition in the switch node then save it my changes don't persist and the condition(s) just revert to the default. e.g. I specify:
msg.payload <= 15
this gets changed (on save) to:
msg.payload == 15
Here's an example of the code I'm trying to get working. This has three nodes including a 'switch'. When I paste this into my Node-Red editor all conditions get changed to '=='. http://flows.nodered.org/flow/2832e7986c794f55708f
This works fine on v0.13.4 of Node-Red which I have running in a different instance.

This has now been raised as an issue on the Node-RED github page.
It looks to be a rendering issue on Safari, the work around is to use Chrome or Firefox until a release with the fix is published

CodeSandbox: Using terminal in node template

I'm trying to create a sandbox using the node template but I'm running into issues accessing the terminal. I have a sandbox here that I've uploaded using their define API which should be using a node template (defined in my sandbox.config.json) and have a defined start script. It shows a 504 and doesn't give me access to the terminal. What am I doing wrong?
After more research: I now see the sandbox running in a node environment, but no terminal - but hovering over the "+" on the upper right of the info/console window gives a tooltip "Fork to add a Terminal". I did so, and the terminal became available. I conclude it's some form of ownership issue - I can't open a terminal in your sandbox, but I can in my forked sandbox.
We can conclude that the define API creates a public template/sandbox - but the terminal is only available in a private sandbox. To use the terminal, you'll have to fork the sandbox after creating it.
(thx to #codesandbox for including the tooltip that led to the conclusion)
That's not a container environment, which is required to have access to a terminal. There are known issues with containers & codesandbox; specifically, you can't convert one sandbox type to another, and sometimes forking from someone else's github also does not create as a container.
Best to start with a containerized template.
In case this helps anyone: to enable containers for an existing project you need to create a sandbox.config.json file with the following content before creating the sandbox:
{
"template": "node"
}
I'm not sure if there is a way to change the sandbox once it's created.

"Project is not fully initialized with the default service accounts." Error in brand new account on first project?

i just signed up for Google Could Engine and started the most basic container engine quickstart on a brand new project:
https://cloud.google.com/container-engine/docs/quickstart
a few steps in it has me run this command
gcloud container clusters create example-cluster
which errors out:
$ gcloud container clusters create example-cluster
ERROR: (gcloud.container.clusters.create) ResponseError: code=503, message=Project hello-world-161713 is not fully initialized with the default service accounts. Please try again later.
so far, "trying again later" has not helped: it's been doing this every time for the past few hours.
as usual, Google has no obvious way of getting help in any timely manner, and Googling the error turns up nothing useful.
kind of a long shot but i found a link sending me over here on one of their pages (great support guys) so figured i'd give it a shot. thanks in advance.
The Container Engine API needs to be enabled, and unfortunately that error message is not correct (trying again later won't help).
If you visit the Google Container Engine page in the wb console https://console.cloud.google.com/kubernetes/list it should enable Google Container Engine. Make sure you select the project you're using with the quickstart. You can create your cluster from that page too if you'd prefer.
You can also enable the Container Engine API manually here: https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/api/container.googleapis.com/overview

Google cloud datalab deployment unsuccessful - sort of

This is a different scenario from other question on this topic. My deployment almost succeeded and I can see the following lines at the end of my log
[datalab].../#015Updating module [datalab]...done.
Jul 25 16:22:36 datalab-deploy-main-20160725-16-19-55 startupscript: Deployed module [datalab] to [https://main-dot-datalab-dot-.appspot.com]
Jul 25 16:22:36 datalab-deploy-main-20160725-16-19-55 startupscript: Step deploy datalab module succeeded.
Jul 25 16:22:36 datalab-deploy-main-20160725-16-19-55 startupscript: Deleting VM instance...
The landing page keeps showing a wait bar indicating the deployment is still in progress. I have tried deploying several times in last couple of days.
About additions described on the landing page -
An App Engine "datalab" module is added. - when I click on the pop-out url "https://datalab-dot-.appspot.com/" it throws an error page with "404 page not found"
A "datalab" Compute Engine network is added. - Under "Compute Engine > Operations" I can see a create instance for datalab deployment with my id and a delete instance operation with *******-ompute#developer.gserviceaccount.com id. not sure what it means.
Datalab branch is added to the git repo- Yes and with all the components.
I think the deployment is partially successful. When I visit the landing page again, the only option I see is to deploy the datalab again and not to start it. Can someone spot the problem ? Appreciate the help.
I read the other posts on this topic and tried to verify my deployment using - "https://console.developers.google.com/apis/api/source/overview?project=" I get the following message-
The API doesn't exist or you don't have permission to access it
You can try looking at the App Engine dashboard here, to verify that there is a "datalab" service deployed.
If that is missing, then you need to redeploy again (or switch to the new locally-run version).
If that is present, then you should also be able to see a "datalab" network here, and a VM instance named something like "gae-datalab-main-..." here. If either of those are missing, then try going back to the App Engine console, deleting the "datalab" service, and redeploying.

How do I include "ibmiot" input node to my local installation of Node-RED

I want to include the "ibmiot" Input node into my local installation of Node-RED ?
Can I do it ? and if so - how ?
The Node-RED flow editor that shows up when I start the Bluemix IoT Starter, shows the node that exactly - fits into what I want to do.
It has the API Keys, device Type, ID and so on as seen below. I'm trying to add this to my local install of Node-RED.
Any help is appreciated.
Below - I want to add the same node ( or import ) into my Laptop where I have the Node-RED installed.
The iotapp nodes are provided by the node-red-contrib-scx-ibmiotapp module - http://flows.nodered.org/node/node-red-contrib-scx-ibmiotapp

Load balancing MySQL ndbcluster

I have successfully setup ndbcluster version 7.1.26.
This contains 2 data nodes[NDBD], 2 mysql [MYSQLD] nodes and one management [MGMD] node.
Replication works successfully.
My Web application is deployed in JBoss-5.0.1 and using JNDI for connection resources which are specified in application specific ds.xml file in load balanced url forms e.g. jbdc:mysql:loadbalance:host1:port1,host2:port2/databaseName.
host1 : refers to first mysqld node and port1 refers the port it is running on.
host2 : refers to second mysqld node and port2 refers the port it is running on.
When both of the [MySQLD] nodes are up and running everything works fine and cluster responds well, replicates data, and data retrieval operations also work properly.
But issues are raised when any of the [MySQLD] nodes goes down. Data gets inserted/updated/replicated but the application is unable to retrieve data from cluster and web page remains busy working which means busy retrieving data. As soon as the node which was down goes up it responds properly and application goes forward and shows up data retrieved from cluster.
At JBoss 5.0.1 startup it showed up a NullPointerException in class LoadBalancingConnectionProxy.invoke(LoadBalancingConnectionProxy.java:439). Tell me if the above Exception plays any role in the above explained issues.
If anyone had faced issues like above and if has any solution regarding the issues please let me know.
Thanks and regards.
I have resolved the issue as it was a bug in the connectorJ's version.
As The project I am working on was already using both the buggy jar mysql-connector-java-5.0.8.jar and the jar version in which the issue is already resolved i.e. mysql-connector-java-5.1.13-bin.jar.
After all the search when I removed the jar mysql-connector-java-5.0.8.jar my issues got resolved.
All that was problematic was that the ConnectorJ/Driver was getting referred from the buggy jar.
The bug id and url which refers to this issue is:
http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=31053
.
Thanks for considerations.
Are you using different userids and passwords for each of the hosts(host1, host2) specified in the tag ? (Either directly or using tag) ?
