Could not install MobileAppsManagement Site Extension - azure-mobile-services

I'm having a problem with Microsoft Azure. More specifically, I'm not able to get a mobile app up and running after creation and deployment. When I enter "Quick Start" in mobile apps settings, I get an error saying "Could not install MobileAppsManagement Site Extension" followed by "SettinListPart" and "MICROSOFT_AZURE_MOBILESERVICES". Thus I'm not able to initialize my backend.
I have a DreamSpark subscription (Student) active. I have had no problems with this earlier, and it occurred now that I moved over from free trial to DreamSpark subscription. (Free trial is disabled/inactive)
This seems to be the same or similar problem, however, I find no similar solution.
in azure mobile app quick start don't display result

As long as your site is an F1 Free in the App Service Plan (which is a difference from the trial service), there should be no problems. Steps for troubleshooting:
Go to your site, All Settings, Scale Down and ensure the F1 Free is chosen
You might have a cached permissions issue - do a hard refresh of your browser / clear the cache.

Vercel: Task timed out after 10.01 seconds

I recently deployed a Next.js application for a software engineering boot camp. I am using Vercel for hosting the web app. The problem I am having has been spoken about on the internet before. However, I couldn't find much helpful information.
When I look at the real-time logs for my application from my Vercel dashboard, a 504 error gets thrown for multiple API routes I have created. I am aware that Vercel places restrictions on requests depending on the hosting plan someone subscribes to. However, I can't help but wonder if I have overlooked an important step when deploying my application.
When deploying my application, I did the following things:
Connected a session store to my MongoDB database.
Created a password-protected MongoDB Atlas account (credentials are environment variables).
White-listed all IP addresses so that any user can interact with their portion of the database.
I would appreciate help finding out if these errors are my fault and if there is anything I can do about them or if they are solely caused by the restrictions of the "Hobby" plan.
Thank you very much in advance,
-Sam
Screen Shot:
I had a similar issue, turned out, it was just the fact that I did not add the vercel ip addr to the network access page on mongodb so momgodb was blocking vercel from accessing data.
You need to integrate MongoDB in your project on Vercel.
Go to your project settings in Vercel and go to the Integrations tab. Click the Browse Marketplace button and find MongoDb. Click Add Integration button and follow the instructions.
Hope this helps... I know this was asked quite a while ago.
You have to troubleshoot the issue by doing the following
Eliminate the NextJS app out of the equation - Using postman https://www.postman.com/downloads/ - Confirm the output of your API, what is the time the API takes? Given function invocation has a limit, you need to optimize the API to meet the threshold.
If the API times are fine and resolution occurs outside of your app, the next step is to troubleshoot the API route, remove the DB parts and just echo back a success message and check the function invocation time.
If #2 turns out to be the issue, reach out to vercel support - Another option could be hosting it outside and whitelisting the cross domain API ask from your application.

WebAPK creation failures on Android over VPN

My corporate VPN blocks all external traffic from an Android device. I am trying to test PWA that is internally hosted (all resources inside a firewall). What I observe is that despite passing Lighthouse audit my PWA fails the WebAPK creation process on a device. Specifically, the install process takes a long time, and eventually it degrades to an application shortcut install.
What I did:
Built the simplest PWA that I could think of (index.html registering service worker + sw.js with fetch even handling index.html request offline + web manifest) and hosted it on an internal server
Run Lighthouse audit on the desktop and made sure it passes all PWA Lighthouse audits
Run bubblewrap init on the manifest to double check that icons/names are OK
Tried to install PWA on an a Pixel phone from Chrome's dot dot dot menu behind firewall
After a long time, the application shortcut was installed (with Chrome overlay icon)
Checked chrome://webapks/ on my phone - no surprises here, I did not find WebAPK for my app
Turn on my corporate VPN workaround, which allows me to bypass VPN restrictions and access external addresses (rooted phone + ProxyDroid hackery)
Now WebAPK creation works
Question 1:
Could someone please explain what is involved in WebAPK creation that would make it fail behind a strict corporate firewall? Is there any external resource (a service perhaps?) involved here that I could advocate my corporate VPN to whitelist? If not, any advice of how to have automatic tests for WebAPK creation would be appreciated. I thought of using bubblewrap build, but, since it is for TWA's, I did not expected it to pass for my simple PWA.
Question 2:
In general, what is the best technique for diagnosing WebAPK creation failures for PWA's that pass Lighthouse audit?
The WebAPK is generated server-side by Chrome. Chrome sends details from the manifest, along with the icons to it's server, which then returns the WebAPK. As you pointed out, it's most likely your corporate firewall is blocking that request to the server, preventing Chrome from generating the WebAPK.
The code for generating WebAPKs in Chrome can be found here
For your second question, we don't really have good tools for debugging that, if Lighthouse passes, it should build the WebAPK (with the exception noted above). I suspect you could connect the device to your computer and use ADB to look at logs, but thats... ugly. Sorry.

Firebase Hosting reverification shows nothing

I have a GCP project. Then I gave permission to a user A with email A#email. They connected it to Firebase and developed a project there with hosting enabled and verified. Then another user B came and I switched the ownership of the project to them and removed A from this. After ownership change, the hosting verification was re-triggered (as expected). However, since 1 week it only shows
I tried searching for other people who had such an issue and nothing came about. I even wrote a bug report but for more than a week nobody has reached out to me and I am worried because the grace period is 1 month and I my project could go down. Have you heard of similar problems?
Edit from comment:
I can confirm that the error comes in Chrome and incognito (version: 80.0.3987.163 (Official Build) (32-bit)) and in Firefox and incognito (version: 72.0.2 (64-bit)). Opening the console gives error 503 for URLs https://clients6.google.com/siteVerification/v1/webResource?verificationMethod=DNS_TXT&alt=json&key= and https://clients6.google.com/siteVerification/v1/token.
The issue was due to my company's license agreement with Google and the way Firebase Hosting is made. More details below.
Strangely enough, using GCP and Firebase require a GCP license. With this license you can do everything from adding/changing/modifing collections/projects. However, the functionality to 'Verify' your hosting site goes through the Google Console which is not included in the license.
Encountered this same thing. The problem turned out that I was using a Google Workspace account that did not have "Google Search Console" enabled for the domain I was logged in on.
To remedy, I had to login to my Workspace Admin, and go turn it on as shown below.

Pentaho User Console login incorrectly redirecting to licensing page

I am in the process of adapting the security configurations to LDAP on the Pentaho BI-server. I made the modifications a while back (simply to direct Pentaho where the LDAP references were), and the login process worked just fine. No other modifications have been made to the configuration.
However, the free month trial that I had been using ran out, and I had to switch to an Enterprise license. Ever since then, I have been having problems with the login. I am using a Firefox browser on a Linux VM.
When I enter my LDAP login credentials (that I am sure are correct and working) (Screenshot 1: Normal-appearing login screen hosted at localhost:8080/pentaho/Login)
I am redirected to the page I first saw when my free trial ran out (Screenshot 2). I see the error
Missing or expired license. To continue you must update your Pentaho BI Platform license. If you are not ready now you may log out and come back later.
but it shows all my licenses as up-to-date and valid.
I would think that this is maybe some sort of glitch, except that if I modify the web address it redirected me to
http://localhost:8080/pentaho/api/repos/admin-plugin/resources/licenseManagerModule/licenseManagerAdmin.html
and change it to
http://localhost:8080/pentaho/
after putting in my credentials, I am taken to my User Console dashboard, and I am logged in.
I am not even sure what type of problem I am running into. Is it coding related, browser related, Pentaho server related, or something else altogether? I would appreciate some guidance into where I might look to fix it.
Your problem is indeed a missing license. You need Pentaho BI Platform Enterprise Edition license to run PUC.

ClickOnce check for update without executing app

I work in a service organization where users of our internal tools are often disconnected. It is often the case that service engineers on service assignments are "stranded" with an outdated version of some internal tool.
These tools are deployed using ClickOnce publish VS2010 .NET4 . If the users run all their apps while still connected to corporate network, they would get a notification that a new version was available. As the number of various tools increase, the chance increases that some app is not updated.
Is it possible to automate this process, by a batch file or something?
So that the engineers just need to run one file when connected to corporate nw to get all the newest versions of their installed tools?
Added:
An easier way of saying it would be to have "something like Windows update" operating on corporate net, but for internal ClickOnce apps.
Very interesting question. I can't think of a quick way to do this, but it's definitely possible.
I would create another ClickOnce app whose job is to update the other ClickOnce apps. This app needs the url of each app's .application file. If all engineers are supposed to have all apps, that's easy. If not, maybe you could look through their start menu and find all the ClickOnce Application Reference files. Those files contain the url.
Next, just launch the url and pass a query string argument...
http://server/MyApp/MyApp.application?UpdateOnly=true
In the startup of your applications, you can check the query string argument and shut down the app if it's run with UpdateOnly=true.
One side note. If you set the minimum required version of each of your apps to the latest version, users won't get prompted with the new version dialog. Seems like you'd want to do that or the user would still have to pay attention and do a lot of clicking.
