I'd like to compile my reports with earlier versions of the JasperReports, so I'm trying to add other versions of the JasperReports to my Jaspersoft Studio on: Project -> Properties -> Jaspersoft Studio -> Compatibility -> Use Project Settings -> Manage JasperReports Version.
I choose the Add From URL option and then I select some version on combobox. After a few moments I get the error below:
I tried to install many versions but all of them failed.
I'm opening the Jaspersoft Studio with admin privilegies on Windows and my environment is as follows:
Windows 7
Java 8
Jaspersoft Studio 6.3.0
Note: I've already tried with Jaspersoft Studio 6.3.1 too.
I'd like to know if this is a problem of my environment. Anyone have any tips?
Don't fight the problem, workaround it
I also have had some problems like "handsake-failure" ecc, trying to use url system to download, unzip and install older versions.
Blaarg, lets install it by hand.
Download the version you like from Sourceforge, for example
5.6.1
Unzip it
Press Add From Path and select the jasper-reports folder
Ok, Ok and your problem should be solved, basically this way your are eliminating all problems related to download and unzipping the project.
If you like you can open an issue on the jasper-reports bugs tracker, but in the mean while you are up and running

I have installed eclipse-4.16 (2020-06) on FreeBSD-12.1p10 in order to use Jaspersoft Studio with iDempiere-7.1. iDempiere-7.1 uses net.sf.jasperreports.engine_6.6.0.jar as its report engine. The current Jaspersoft Studio (6.16.0) plug-in will not install due to a dependency error.
Cannot complete the install because some dependencies are not satisfiable
org.eclipse.equinox.p2.iu; com.jaspersoft.studio.feature.feature.group
[6.16.0.final,6.16.0.final] cannot be installed in this environment because
its filter is not applicable.
I have learned that the latest Jaspersoft Studio that is known to work with iDempiere-7.1 is 6.5.1. I added https://sourceforge.net/projects/jasperstudio/files/updatesite/6.5.1/ as a plug-in site and that version is indeed selected when I attempt to install Jaspersoft Studio. But it gives the same dependency error.
How do I get Jaspersoft Studio to install?
I have installed tibco jaspersoft Studio last version and wanted to edit some jasper files. I have imported the project from git and everytime when I open the project it loads for ever and hangs by searching Data Adapters see screenshot:
It takes resources and time. Any Idea how to solve this problems?
p.s.: I have also tried pluging for eclipse and got the same problem
After editing a jaspersoft template in Studio version 6.0.3 is it possible to export or upload the jrxml file to my server via sftp directly from JasperSoft Studio?
Currently after edits are made and saved I have to go to the ftp client to upload files.
you could try to use Eclipse RSE installing the dedicated feature. It's possible from Jaspersoft Studio. You simply need to add the update site for it.
I would suggest you use Indigo one, because the Juno (dedicated to 4.2.x) may screw up UI and other JSS capabilities.
Even if the Eclipse 3.8.2 version, the platform used by JSS product, is referred as Juno, it can be more like a bug-fix version of Indigo 3.7.x.
So you could add the Indigo update site: http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo/
Later you can select the feature "Remote System Explorer End-User Runtime", install it and you are free to try if it suits your needs.
See screenshot below:
Personally I simply installed, but I didn't play with it.
Anyhow I suggest you to also give a look to the following blog post: http://rays-blog.de/2012/05/05/94/use-winscp-to-upload-files-using-eclipses-autobuild-feature/
Maybe it's better to set-up a custom script, like this user did because not completely satisfied of the Eclipse-like solutions.
It's worth mentioning also this one: http://www.jcraft.com/eclipse-sftp/
In my case it didn't work even if installation appeared to have completed successfully. Maybe it's too old for the latest Eclipse versions.

Massimo.
I'm trying to move from Eclipse ADT NDK build to Android Studio on my Mac OS X. In doing this, one thing I notice is the Project Structure's Android SDK Location for my ported project and for new projects is defaulting to be: /Users/user1/Development/adt-bundle-mac-x86_64-20131030/sdk.
Shouldn't the Android Studio come with its own SDK and shouldn't I be using it by default? I looked in the application install directory but found no signs of an SDK directory there. I'm concerned that the sdk is from October 30, 2013 and so it seems rather old. What are the implications of moving to a newer SDK?
Perhaps related to this is that when trying to use the old Eclipse Kepler that used to build for me:
I get notice on Eclipse launch:
This Android SDK requires Android Developer Toolkit version 23.0.0 or above.
Current version is 22.6.2.v2014032112031-1085508.
Please update ADT to the latest version.
Click "Check for Updates":
No Updates were found.
No Repository found at https://dl.google.com/alt.
Tried to update the repository to (for Kepler Eclipse):
https://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/4.3
Still no updates found but error about no repository goes away.
I resolved this later issue with the answer posted here.
cant comment on details of OSX but on linux/AS with Eclipse & AS , i found follow to help:
provision environment to use multiple versions of java JDK
install oracle JDK 1.7 that will be just for use by shell script running AS
note ASRoot/bin/studio.sh .... if [ -n "$STUDIO_JDK"
accordingly provide for the above ENV VAR and its use by the AS.studio.sh
that version of the JDK does nothing more than run AS
Then , for the ADT stuff (OK to be shared by Eclipse & AS ), you can keep updated another version of the SDK/ADT in a path where theres read access by both eclipse/ AS.
I think u can use ./android to keep updated this , original sdk/adt
Then new Enterprise Library 6 is out and can be downloaded here. I have downloaded and extracted EnterpriseLibrary6-binaries.exe to a folder on my C: drive. The readme says this:
MICROSOFT ENTERPRISE LIBRARY 6
Summary: This package contains Enterprise Library configuration console, MSMQ distributor service, merge configuration tool and a script to download binaries for all application blocks from NuGet.
In order to get all the binaries, run the install-packages.ps1 script.
Note: For the Semantic Logging Application Block Out-of-Process service, a separate package is available for download.
I then run Powershell and run the script. I now look in the folder I extracted the .exe to and all of the binaries are there. Now, here are the instructions from the Enterprise Library 6 .chm.
To install the integrated Visual Studio configuration editor
1. On the Visual Studio Tools menu, choose Extensions and Updates.
2. In the Extensions and Updates dialog, search online for EnterpriseLibrary.config.
3. Click the Download button to download and install the Enterprise Library configuration editor.
4. Restart Visual Studio to complete the installation.
To launch and use the configuration editor from Visual Studio
1. Open a solution in Visual Studio.
2. If the solution does not contain a configuration file, add one using the Visual Studio Add menu.
3. In Solution Explorer, right-click the configuration file and then click Edit Enterprise Library V6 Configuration. This launches the integrated configuration editor or the appropriate standalone version of the configuration tool.
Step #3 is where I am stuck. I have a WCF service project with a web.config in it. I right click the web.config and I don't see a "Edit Enterprise Library V6 Configuration" context menu option.
I DO see an "Edit Server Configuration File v6". However, when I click this I get the following error.
All I'm trying to do is use the Exception Handling Application Block in my WCF service project. I've looked around the web and can't find any easy step-by-step tutorial to guide me either. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You need to set the solution property for "Enterprise Library v6 binaries path" to set to
the folder that you extracted "EnterpriseLibrary6-binaries.exe".
You can do that by clicking the solution and then pressing F4 to see the properties window, but you need to make sure that your "Enterprise Library Config tool" is v6.

The Visual Studio Gallery provides Enterprise Library 5 Config tool which is obviously the wrong Version.
I had to use NuGet to install the application block I wanted to use in the project. For me, Tools >> Library Package Manager >> Manage NuGet Packages for solution and add the appropriate EntLib 6 Exception Handling Application Block WCF Provider.
Just download Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.ConfigConsoleV6.vsix
from the below link and while installing provide VS2012 or Vs2013.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38789
After installation restart Visual Studio.
You will Enterprise Library 6.0 configuration.
By default Extension and Updates in VS give 5.0 configuration we need 6.0 to work.
This is what worked for me:
Download Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.ConfigConsoleV6.vsix, from here and during installation, provide VS2012 or VS2013.
Then restart your VS2012/2013 and you should be good to go!
