I have a couple of hundred Facebook profile URLs that I each want to convert to corresponding profile IDs. I have worked with Twitter which has an API call that does similar in batch of 100 (rate limited).
Is there a similar call with Facebook API? 1:1 would be sufficient if no batch support exists.
There is no legal way to turn profile URLs into IDs. You would need to scrape the profiles, which is not allowed on Facebook. The only serious way to get the ID of users is to authorize them with a Facebook App.

I would like to get all the posts and updates that are normally displayed in FB official application for MY account (this includes updates from my friends and liked pages).
I wasn't able to find any details how to get that, the only thing I've managed to get is my own posts.
Anyone got any experience with that using current Graph API verion (3.3)?
All the alternate FB clients (ex. Friendly) must be doing this somehow.
There is no way to get ANY data of users who did not authorized your App. Which means, there is no way to get posts of friends. You can only get your own friends, with the user_posts permission and the /me/posts endpoint. If some Apps access friend data without their authorization, they are most likely doing something that is not allowed.
Here is what I found in their API docs:
There are two scopes:
The user feed requires the user's permission
The public feed has fewer capabilities but doesn't require perms
In the past, I think a Facebook Page access token could be generated manually, and then used with the graph API to query posts, comments, likes, shares, etc. Now it seems you cannot query anything without developing an app that I login to and then in turn the app generates the access token. Is that true? For example, this question from 2015 claims no access token is needed for public data, but when I try their example it returns "An access token is required to request this resource."
I'm the admin of my page that ran a basic contest (giveaway). I'd like to use the graph API to fetch the names of people that liked, shared, or commented on a post. Then I want to cross reference it with those that like the page. Do I have to register and develop an app for this? Does my page have an access token available without going through the app registration and review process?
Can I access a Facebook Page with the Graph API without creating an app?
No, that is not possible. You always have to use an App for any API Access.
Then I want to cross reference it with those that like the page.
That is not possible either, not even with an App. I assume you want to make sure that participants like your Page - which is not allowed. People cannot be "incentivized" to like your Page.

I was wondering if its possible to get one's facebook profile (to be exact,'profile url') through their API?
I need an api to get fb profile link using a matching email address. I dont want to login to facebook though.I was trying to search for this but it seems you need to log in to facebook to get that.
Any idea or is it feasible?
You need ID of the concerned user which can't be achieved without using the Facebook Login, since Facebook login is the starting point to get the current user info (/me).
Search API could have helped you since you have the email ids of users, but unfortunately this api doesn't support user search with email!
So, answer is simple- NO, you cannot get the ID (profile link) of the user without using the facebook login.
Not that I can think of. Facebook's Graph API gives you some public info but that info given depends on the users Facebook's settings on what is public or not. You could maybe get some users profile picture but not others, making it not a very viable option for practical use. Hope that helps
On custom audience, there is the possibility to upload a Facebook ID list for creating an audience... After the Graph API v2.0 migration, when we won't have access to Facebook ID anymore, how can i upload the user id list? Can i use a app_scoped_id based list?
If someone publishes something on my fanpage, and i get his post using Graph API, will i be able to use his id on custom audience? The official documentation don't make itself clear when explaining about the "expiring process" of a app_scoped_id. As far as i understood, when someone authorizes an application, his app_scoped_id will be "permanent", but if there is no user interaction/authorization with my application, the app_scoped_id CAN expire in 24 hours... is that right? If so, how can i use a list of ids on custom audience if they expires?
Thank you!
UPDATE
From https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/upgrading#upgrading_v2_0_user_ids:
For users who have not logged into your app, the user ID may change depending on the version of the API that you call. In v1.0 of the API users who have not logged into your app will be referred to by their original Facebook user ID, whereas in v2.0 they will be referred to by an app-scoped ID.
We've added new API endpoints that allow you to tag and invite friends who don't use your app. These APIs return tokens which may be used to generate custom interfaces for tagging and invitations. Those tokens aren't meant to be cachable and we make no guarantees that they will be stable beyond 24 hours from the time the API response containing them was received. They aren't the same as either the IDs used on data for people not logged into your app nor the same as the app-scoped IDs.
You are confusing the app-scoped IDs with temporarily generated IDs. App-scoped IDs will not change over time. Temporarily generated IDs are meant to help with inviting and tagging friends who have not authorized an application and as such they will not remain the same over time.
Can I use the Facebook Graph API without the creation of my Facebook Application? As I understand it, for each operation I need to use the OAuth key. And I can only get user OAuth key if they authorize my Facebook application. Am I right?
I need to get user feed, and post to it.
Facebook Graph Api needs your APP ID which you can only get from your Facebook application. So i think its not possible to post data on facebook without having Application ID.
You can use this tool to dynamically generate an access_token for testing: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/
Also, check out RapidAPI here. I've specifically linked you to the FacebookGraphAPI block. Here you can instantaneously connect to numerous Facebook endpoints. The platform will generate a code snippet that you can directly insert into your code.
Depends on what you want to do, for most tasks you have to have an app id... but If you want to get the amount of shares for a certain page, for example, you can do it with no app ID.
I think there is FBML (facebooks mark up language) which you can embed on your site which can handle some basic tasks like commenting or liking.
No, You can't do that as Facebook Graph API needs access token which u can get only by authorising your logged-in user by your (Created) App in Facebook.
