In the SAPUI5 control explorer in the busy dialog section there is mention of a sap.m.sample.BusyDialogLight.C control. Essentially this is an unframed dialog with the busy indicator 3-blue blobs image over it. I intend to use this whilst long JSON fetches are running.
My version of OpenUI5 which is v1.40.10 does not have a file or folder with that name in the sap.m.* folders. It only has sap.m.BusyDialog.js which I read (dbg version) and see no obvious mention of a light model.
So can anyone tell me if there is actually a BusyDialogLight control and how to define it?
This is just the controller which handles the view. The name used there is the same as in the view's controllerName attribute. And light is in this context just the BusyDialog without text and buttons.

When an HTML editor is used and images are added from the local computer, they are uploaded to a server and a link is obtained to put it in the image src attribute. What happens when the img element is removed from the editor? How would the image be deleted from the server? In this case I understand that the image deletion event could be detected and then call a service to delete it. But what happens if the user adds a new image and leaves the page? How would it be deleted in these cases?
In both cases, if the deletion of the images is not managed, it could happen that the server is filled with unused images. How do you usually solve this problem? How is the proper way to solve this?
That's a nice question there. And yeah, for sure the server would fill up with unused images in some point. I'm not an expert on this but I'll try to suggest something so I can implement it too in my WYSIWYG editor haha. I suppose you have a custom modal for the insertion of the image. Upon clicking the button you could save the image link to an array and at SAVE || on leaving the document edit || on popstate event you could make a regex that checks the innerHTML of the editor for the specific SRC. If is not found then you could push an ajax request with the image name so you can deleteit. For sure there are more efficient and complex ways to achieve that. Such as creating text ranges and track elements on keydown - Backspace(8) / Deletekey(46).
An other way is that you could track the images that are in use. When the document is saved regex out the images in the document, push them to a db table and periodically make a check from the back end so you can delete those that are not in use.

I have a document-level (dotx) customization, with a custom ribbon, and one of the controls in that ribbon is this:

The only other part that makes this work is the creation of entries under Custom1 in the Building Blocks Organizer. In Word 2010, this would show all the building blocks under the Custom1 category. In Word 2013, it shows the name of each building block briefly, and then all of them are removed and the list is empty:
The building blocks themselves all contain either a document property or document variable.
I have tried the following to resolve this but without success:
Ensured that they are still present by opening the template outside of Visual Studio; they are.
Upgraded the template to the 2013 dotx format.
Re-created the building blocks.
Re-created the entire dotx file, and then re-created the building blocks.
I also tried using other ribbon IDs, they are empty too (they do all have entries) but they display it differently:
There should be four entries there, they exist in my Normal.dotm. The last two controls there, for equations and content controls, do work, except the content control that is inserted displays similar behavior as the Autotext gallery:
I don't know what should be shown in this case but I doubt it's nothing.
Right now I'm assuming that this is just a broken feature in 2013 and will have to replace it with something else. Does anyone know anything to the contrary?
I don't think it is a broken feature, after some struggle, I did get to understand how to use it:
The gallery button in the "toolbar" of a newly added Building Block Gallery Content Control indeed seems empty at first, because it is set to list QuickParts. You have to change it in the properties of the control so that it lists the content of the AutoText Gallery instead (or any other Gallery of Building Blocks you'd like). To do so, either directly click on the Properties button in the Developper tab while the control is selected, or switch to Design Mode so that the Properties appears in the context menu (right-click on the control):
AutoText is "Insertion automatique" in French, the rest you can guess ;)
As far as I could find, it's just a broken feature. There's also a ridiculous memory leak the first time you do a Find and add fields during that find.
I tried the example which is showing how to get data from history to re-generate UI; The thing I see mostly in all "history usage" examples are related to UI re-generation only so it is none-static way...
But what about "each UI state may have its unique url something like JSF does with flows"? For example I have app url like a
http://localhost:8080/myapp/MyApp.html
the app default UI contains main menu which is helping to navigate through my test catalog; I tried to make possible keep the UI dynamics in history by building url in this way
http://localhost:8080/myapp/MyApp.html#menu_testcategory_page1
but when I click internet browser "refresh" button the url keeps the same as http://localhost:8080/myapp/MyApp.html#menu_testcategory_page1 but the UI comes back to its default state :(
So my question is
is there an optimal way in pure gwt to stay in the same UI state even after browser's refresh button is clicked (I mean the unload/load window events occur)?

I am using it for 3 years, and it works very well.
Note, however, that when you reload a page, you lose all of your state, data, etc. If you need to preserve some of it, you can use a combination of a Place (#page1) and a token that tells the corresponding Activity the state of the View representing this Place, i.e. (#page1:item=5).
You probably just forgot to call
History.fireCurrentHistoryState();
from your entry point.
I want to implement navigating a tree structure like it is done in e.g. the WinRT file picker. I then want to be able to drop this behavior as part of any page.
My current attempt, is to try and register a secondary FrameAdapter/INavigationService in the container and use that for a frame that is different from the app root frame. So far, I could not get it to work.
My motivation behind that, is, that I do not want to reimplement sth. that the INavigationService already provides.
Basic structure:
ShellView that represents the general app layout (header, footer, navigation) and is currently an OneActive conductor.
Frame control (x:Name="ActiveItem") on the ShellView inside which the hierarchical navigation should occur
The chosen conductor has no relevance yet, since I'll probably have to nest the FrameControl inside another view later to really set up a MDI interface. I'll will want to have multiple screens that should be able to hierarchically navigate
I could not find a CM WP7 example of such a scenario

My problems so far:
How do I access the container from a view code-behind without resorting to using the Application.Current. I figured, it is in the code-behind where I would want to setup the secondary FrameAdapter, since it is here that I have access to the FrameControl
How do I setup the INavigationService so that the initial loading by CM (populating the ActiveItem) is registered with it. There does not seem to be a navigation event for this initial display of the ActiveItem.

I've got a View containing a TabControl bound to a region "CustomerRegion".
I've got a few View/ViewModels which are marked as [ViewExport(RegionName = "CustomerRegion")].
These items are loaded successfully into the TabControl.
But now I need these TabItems to share some data in this TabControl (can't be global since there might be two or more of these open at one time).
Any ideas how these TabItems can share data without leaving MVVM/MEF?
Prism has the concept of "Region Context" that you might be able to use, depending on your scenario.
Check out the Prism Region documentation and look for the section entitled "Sharing Data Between Multiple Regions" (though this title is a little misleading...).
If you find this doesn't work for you, I would suggest writing a custom inheriting attached property that you can bind to from subviews and modify from the parent view.
