How to get lyrics from the Deezer API? - deezer

Is it possible to get lyric info for a track from the Deezer api?
I'm looking for time-tagged data for a karaoke app. The deezer site itself clearly has this available and makes use of it to show karaoke-style lyrics, so the data and access exist, but it's not described anywhere in the api documentation.

They actually do have an API, but it's hidden. You will need a basic understanding of searching Deezer first (which is easy as hell), once you can search for a song and get the ID from that search, use
https://www.deezer.com/ajax/gw-light.php?method=song.getLyrics&api_version=1.0&api_token=[api-token]&sng_id=[song-id]
To get your API key, you can use inspect element on deezer.com. Open Inspect > Network > reload the page > click on (most likely) the second entry > scroll down to "Query String Parameters" > copy api_token and use that in the link above.
The docs for the Deezer search API can also be found here.

Unfortunately, the lyrics are not available on our REST API.

How to get EXTRA (complimentary) results from bing-search API

When we generally search for a term in www.bing.com (e.g. newyork), we get some extra information along with search results on the right most side of the page. Like for 'newyork' you would see some content from wikipedia, map location, it's twitter page etc.
Is there a way to get this information from current BING SEARCH API?
Some of this information is available in the Bing Entity Search API here: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/cognitive-services/bing-entity-search-api/.

Getting a SoundCloud API client ID

Encountered a problem accessing my tracks from browser.
Usually i type this link in my browser to access downloadable tracks:
http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/294324164/download?client_id=02gUJC0hH2ct1EGOcYXQIzRFU91c72Ea
But now i can not access it anymore, probably the client id is changed.
How can i obtain a new client id?
Thanks.
Simple.. Go to any tracks that you can download on soundcloud, press f12 and look at networks tab, click download and it will show you something like
https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/322109493/download?client_id=2t9loNQH90kzJcsFCODdigxfp325aq4z&oauth_token=2-274121-85658-y9KQYyZ6qG9oT2uvPq
Grab that client_id, replace it and amend the url from download? to stream?.. use streams? if you want a list of urls in json format
http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/294324164/stream?client_id=2t9loNQH90kzJcsFCODdigxfp325aq4z
As no one else has mentioned it, in a Chrome-based browser under DevTools ctrl+shift+i, you can grab your client_id from the Network tab on reload. Many items listed here reference the SoundCloud API and require your client_id to access it. Simply click any item in the list that isn't an image/base64 item (preferably something that begins with id?...), then check the Request URL for a client_id.
It's the simplest way to grab the ID; now that you know how, don't do anything illegal k thx.
For those thinking this is the same as the other answer mentioning a download link, this method skips that entirely as many songs are no longer available from SoundCloud itself, but from external sources that are linked instead.
Amazing it's been this long, yet there's no "public" Soundcloud API. I'm amazed to find something worse off than the Twitch API.
See this user's solution for a way to do this without a CLIENT ID which you can no longer get from soundcloud: https://stackoverflow.com/a/27461646/179571
youtube-dl https://soundcloud.com/my-fav-artist
seems to work and pull all tracks as mp3
no client_id needed, if you needed the client_id to get something
like soundcloud-dl to work
You can apply for a client ID by filling in the SoundCloud Application Registration form.

Facebook URL Graph Search - Page Queries

I am looking to generate a list of URLS or FB ID's for a set of existing Facebook Pages. Ultimately the initial query I am looking to run is simple: Find all NEW facebook pages created in City XYZ.
The term NEW, is open to interpretation. It could mean "Created this month" Or newer relative others in a set (these details are not important at the moment) . Also, "Pages" refers to fan pages (not user profiles).
I have identified 3 possible approaches. Both of which I am hoping to get some input on. Regarding feasibility and process.
Option 1) Somehow leverage Facebook's Graph API and develop some time of web application to generate a list of all Pages, then filter by city, then filter by date created.
Option 2 (Best Case)) Write or generate a custom Graph Search URL with embedded search criteria and leverage FBs existing search feature to get results. A great example of this approach is used by the tool searchisback.com. Only this tool is used to do advanced searches on People, but I need advanced searches on Pages.
Option 3) Locate a tool that already does this that I can use.
I again hoping to get some input and possible some direction/recommendations.
I should also mention that I actually know very little about Facebook APIs and Facebook Development. My position right now is of some who knows what they want to do, but no idea how to do it.
Option 1: Not possible, you can only search for Pages by name, the Graph Search is not available with the API. Those are all the options: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/using-graph-api#search
Option 2: See answer to option 1.
Option 3: There are tools that list Pages, but they all have to add them manually. So there is not really a tool that does what you want to achieve.
In short: What you want to do is not possible.

How to publish an action with tagged Google Places (or Maps)?

I'm having problem publishing actions (using OpenGraph) with tagged Google Places instead of Facebook Place. It should be straight forward according to the following document:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/location_tagging/#third_party
But every time I try to publish an action with place=http://GOOGLE_PLACE_URL I get the following error message:
The action you're trying to publish is invalid because the specified place 'http://GOOGLE_PLACE_URL' is invalid.
I've tried to put Google Maps, Google Places and Google+ Local URLs but all with the same problem.
Note: I could successfully publish actions when I set "place=Facebook_Place_ID".
Any help or hint is greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
I don't think Google's place pages have the markup necessary to support Open Graph
From the documentation:
Publishing actions with 3rd party places is similar to the location
tagging example above, except that you will pass in the url to another
site's place object.
The foursquare example in the documentation is defined as a place, as well as having the metadata foursquare uses:
https://foursquare.com/v/eataly/4c5ef77bfff99c74eda954d3
See Facebook's Debug Tool for that URL at https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=https%3A%2F%2Ffoursquare.com%2Fv%2Feataly%2F4c5ef77bfff99c74eda954d3 - it clearly shows that foursquare's place is defined as ‎og:type‎ playfoursquare:venue and has location data available for Facebook - i suspect Google does not have this on their place pages

Google feed api integration with iPhone/Objective C

I am building an RSS Reader. Some of the existing ones out there (for example, Pulse News for iPhone/iPad) have a search box where you can search for some term (example - "sports") and it will return a list of feeds that match your search criteria. So in this example, you type in "sports", and it searches and then comes back with ESPN.com's news feed, Yahoo! Sports' news feed, etc. etc.
After initial research, I found out that Google feed API does the same.
https://code.google.com/intl/fr/apis/ajaxfeeds/documentation/reference.html#findFeeds
However, I cant figure out how to use the google feed api. It returns the xml that i need to parse but the part I am confused is how to call the API and where to catch the xml response. Can some one post a tutorial or some help on how to integrate it.
Found a suitable solution with "Google Feed API" itself. They also have a JSON API(wow!!) which returns the JSON file for any query fired..
