Let's say I have a facebook campaign displayed on mobile device, which leads to conversion (android application installed, it's deeplinked). Now the same user opens my webpage (with facebook pixel) on his desktop computer and buys some stuff there.
I would like to track that conversion was initiated by that campaign - with some external tool (mixpanel, exponea...). Is this possible? Is facebook pixel the right way to achieve this?
The user is not logged in, just on facebook on his device and his desktop.
You can use mixpanel library to track the user events in different platform. The distinct id in mixpanel maintain the cross device user tracking whenever you login with same user.

We have a multiplatform service and we give our users a 30 day trial. A user can sign up on iOS, use the web version and finally do the payment on Android... even if it's weird, its a possible. The database is shared between all platforms
We are using Facebook Ads to generate App installs but we don't know how to do the conversions' attribution properly. The main problem is that if, for example, a user install the app from a Facebook app but he end up paying from the web version we lost track that the origin of this user was the ad.
I would like to know if it's possible to determine using the Facebook SDK, on the first run of the app, if the user comes from a Facebook Ad and in that case I would store that information in our database to do the attribution once the purshase is done. Any ideas?

I've found that it's easy to obtain 'current location' of Facebook users based on what they manually enter in on their profile. However, I'm curious if a Facebook user logs into my app with their FB log-in, can I get their location data as they go from one place to the next? For example, my app recommends the user go to a certain location. I want to know if that user actually goes to that location. I don't need to know their location down to the minute, just periodically where they end up, maybe every half hour or hour.
No, this is not possible via the Graph API or SDK. You could track the GPS location via the device's sensor data if you're creating an own app for iOS or Android for example.
Using Facebook SDK 3.5.1 in my app, my requirement is that i have logged in the app via facebook with one user (say user A) and now if i login with other user (say user B) in mobile safari/facebook app (which one is available), in this case can my app get notified that another user logged in other than one who was logged in app.
Any references or ideas?

I don't think there is an option for this in the Facebook API. At least I couldn't find it.

What you can do, however, is simply check every minute or so who is available.
You can save this data in an array and then compare it a minute later with the new data.

I'm developing a Facebook app that has a responsive layout. Sometimes my app has to generate a link for the user. Whenever possible, the links will send the user to a Page Tab (when the user is on a desktop) and other times it will link directly to the app (when the user is on a mobile phone).
What is the default behavior for Facebook on tablets? Does it show the mobile site or the desktop site?
Should I use the mobile or desktop version of my app on tablets?

My app prefers the desktop version because it includes a Like-gate. If the user experience is good for a tablet to view the app in a page tab (which is only available on www.facebook.com ie non-mobile), then that is preferred because the like button will be displayed at the top of the page, above the app's iframe. In contrast, the mobile version of the app requires that the user click a link that takes them to the (mobile) facebook page which they must like to un-gate the app. It adds an extra step for the user and requires that they navigate away from the app for a moment. Users might be discouraged by this extra step and decide not to enter the gate.
For Android tablets - Honestly, it depends on how you want Facebook to handle it. If you look at the android native app linking wiki - https://developers.facebook.com/docs/mobile/android/deep_linking/, Facebook provides you the option to choose the user experience. The facebook native android app itself treats tablets like mobile phones. It would be ideal if your app is compatible with tablets, and then you can enable deep-linking which will let the user view the content inside of your app.
For iOS, it's handled from within the iOS bundle id.
Unable to find a concrete answer, I ended up detected the user's referral on the first page access. Then if www.facebook.com is in the url, I go to desktop. Otherwise I go to mobile..

We plan to manufacture a device that we want it to communicate with Facebook. If the user presses a button on the device, we want something to appear on users wall as a post. It means that the device will post on behalf of the user on Facebook.
As we see from the Facebook developer page, the types of applications are a Facebook app, a web app or a mobile app. The thing we have just explained does not belong to any of these categories. For instance, it is not a web app because the device does only support http connection but does not have a built-in web browser. It is not an Andorid or iOs app because the operating system in this device is none of these.
What would you suggest for this kind of application?

Your other decent option would be to run an HTTP server on your device that users could connect to from a computer or phone to authenticate.
Once authorized, a simple HTTP request is all that it will take to share anything.
Edit: Just noticed that Facebook is no longer accepting applications for new partners with the auth device pattern. This is definitely what you want. You could try contacting them anyways.
Possible Answer = make it web app but dont forget the facebook policies about the user privacy issues. Your device can send a signal to your server and server can make the post i think it is possible (hmmm but to acquire access token again your clients have to login your webapp again every 60 days, there must be a better solution)
