How to map Json object to JPA specification for Search query - jpa

I have a RequestMaping that get a Search json class as body params.
I want to create proper Specification from this search json object so that pass to my Repository like this:
pagesResult = myRepository.findAll(mySpec)
I have problme with parsing and Dynamically add items to specification. I want to achieve something like this:
#Override
public Phones searchPhones(int pageNumber, Map<String, String> searchObject) {
List<PhoneSpecification> specificationslist = new ArrayList<>();
generateSpecifications(searchObject, specificationslist); //fill specificationList
Specification<Phone> specificationOfPhone;
for (PhoneSpecification spec :
specificationslist) {
//this is my problem , I had to dynamically increase my Specification like this:
specificationOfPhone = specificationOfPhone + Specifications.and(spec);
}
mobileRepository.findAll(specificationOfPhone);

I finally achieve this by adding where to first specification and handle all by adding like this:
if(specificationslist.size()>0){
finalSpecification = Specifications.where(specificationslist.get(0)) ;
}
for (int i=1 ; i<specificationslist.size(); i++) {
finalSpecification = Specifications.where(finalSpecification).and(specificationslist.get(i));
}

You can change your code to this:
Specifications<Phone> specificationOfPhone = Specifications.where(null);
for (PhoneSpecification spec : specificationslist) {
specificationOfPhone = specificationOfPhone.and(spec);
}
I assumed that PhoneSpecification is extending/implements Specification<T>.
Specifications.where(null); will return empty specification which can be chained with others.
Because Specifications<T> extends Specification<T> you can use it with your findAll method.

Wagtail - how to get tags to work with `telepath` (tags in streamfield)?

I can use tags in regular page fields without any issue. When using tags within blocks (within a streamfield), the UI works and the tags are saved BUT the current page tags do not show up when loading the page in the admin. That's because the current value is not in the template anymore, it's in a JSON loaded via telepath.
I can confirm that the tags are saved and present in the data passed to initBlockWidget in the page source but these are ignored. Also, if I used a regular text field instead of the tag-widget, I can see the saved-values in the admin.
This is the code I have (which used to be enough before the refactor with telepath).
from wagtail.admin.widgets import AdminTagWidget
class TagBlock(TextBlock):
#cached_property
def field(self):
field_kwargs = {"widget": AdminTagWidget()}
field_kwargs.update(self.field_options)
return forms.CharField(**field_kwargs)
I think the following link is what I need to complete somehow to get it to work: https://docs.wagtail.io/en/stable/reference/streamfield/widget_api.html#form-widget-client-side-api
I've tried with this:
class AdminTagWidgetAdapter(WidgetAdapter):
class Media:
js = [
"wagtailadmin/js/vendor/tag-it.js",
"js/admin/admin-tag-widget-adapter.js",
]
register(AdminTagWidgetAdapter(), AdminTagWidget)
And under js/admin/admin-tag-widget-adapter.js:
console.log("adapter"); // this shows up in the console
class BoundWidget { // copied from wagtail source code
constructor(element, name, idForLabel, initialState) {
var selector = ':input[name="' + name + '"]';
this.input = element.find(selector).addBack(selector); // find, including element itself
this.idForLabel = idForLabel;
this.setState(initialState);
}
getValue() {
return this.input.val();
}
getState() {
return this.input.val();
}
setState(state) {
this.input.val(state);
}
getTextLabel(opts) {
const val = this.getValue();
if (typeof val !== 'string') return null;
const maxLength = opts && opts.maxLength;
if (maxLength && val.length > maxLength) {
return val.substring(0, maxLength - 1) + '…';
}
return val;
}
focus() {
this.input.focus();
}
}
// my code here:
class AdminTagWidget {
constructor(html, idPattern) {
this.html = html;
this.idPattern = idPattern;
}
boundWidgetClass = BoundWidget;
render(placeholder, name, id, initialState) {
console.log("RENDER", placeholder, name, id, initialState); // this does not show
var html = this.html.replace(/__NAME__/g, name).replace(/__ID__/g, id);
var idForLabel = this.idPattern.replace(/__ID__/g, id);
var dom = $(html);
$(placeholder).replaceWith(dom);
// eslint-disable-next-line new-cap
return new this.boundWidgetClass(dom, name, idForLabel, initialState);
}
}
console.log("here") // does show in the console
// variants I've tried:
//window.telepath.register('wagtail.admin.widgets.tags.AdminTagWidget', AdminTagWidget);
//window.telepath.register('wagtail.widgets.AdminTagWidget', AdminTagWidget);
window.telepath.register('path.where.its.used.AdminTagWidget', AdminTagWidget)
The log from my custom render method does not show. It seems that I'm not calling the right path within window.telepath.register but I don't know how what the string is supposed to be...
I'm not even sure if this is the right way forward.
Notes:
it works in regular field, the question is about tags in blocks
I'm using Wagtail version 2.13.2 but I've also tried with 2.15 without any difference.
In the console, I can log window.telepath and see my custom widget. It's just not "applied" to anything
Your WidgetAdapter class needs a js_constructor attribute:
class AdminTagWidgetAdapter(WidgetAdapter):
js_constructor = 'myapp.widgets.AdminTagWidget'
class Media:
js = [
"wagtailadmin/js/vendor/tag-it.js",
"js/admin/admin-tag-widget-adapter.js",
]
Any string value will work here - it just needs to uniquely identify the class, so it's recommended to use a dotted module-like path to avoid colliding with others. This then matches the string you pass to window.telepath.register on the Javascript side:
window.telepath.register('myapp.widgets.AdminTagWidget', AdminTagWidget)

How do i retrieve a List<Map<String,Object>> from cloud firestore and convert it into a custom model?

The structure of my data looks like this:
I want to retrieve this data which I have done using this where studentReference is CollectionReference to students collection.
This returns me this
Now I want to map this data into a Custom Subject class that looks like this
class Subjects {
int totalAttended;
int attended;
int missed;
final String subjectName;
final String subjectId;
final String subjectTeacher;
Subjects(
{this.attended,
this.missed,
this.totalAttended = 0,
this.subjectId,
this.subjectName,
this.subjectTeacher});
}
But can't figure out how to do this mapping. I know I need to use stream but don't know how.
Any help would be immensely appreciated.
Going forward try not to use screenshots when sharing code. Firebase collection is one thing, but your retreiveData and the print statement could have easily been embedded code in the post. If somebody wants to help and needs to paste your code into their IDE they're definitely not gonna want to type it out manually.
Anyway, this should get you most of the way there. It should give you the idea at least. By looking at your collection, Subjects is a list consisting of 2 maps. So here's a function that iterates through the list, pulls out the key/value pairs from the maps, creates a Subjects object out of the values, adds the Subjects objects to a list, then returns the list.
List<Subjects> getSubjects(List subjectList) {
final List<Subjects> list = [];
for (int i = 0; i < subjectList.length; i++) {
final map = subjectList[i];
final totalAttended = map['totalAttended'];
final attended = map['attended'];
final missed = map['missed'];
final subjectName = map['subjectName'];
final subjectId = map['subjectId'];
final subjectTeacher = map['subjectTeacher'];
final subject = Subjects(
totalAttended: totalAttended,
attended: attended,
missed: missed,
subjectName: subjectName,
subjectTeacher: subjectTeacher,
subjectId: subjectId);
list.add(subject);
}
return list;
}
You can declare a subjectList outside of the retreiveData function, then where you currently have your print statement, you could do this
subjectList = getSubjects(value.data()['subjects']);
Then you have a list of Subjects objects that you can use as you need to.

Build dynamic LINQ queries from a string - Use Reflection?

I have some word templates(maybe thousands). Each template has merge fields which will be filled from database. I don`t like writing separate code for every template and then build the application and deploy it whenever a template is changed or a field on the template is added!
Instead, I'm trying to define all merge fields in a separate xml file and for each field I want to write the "query" which will be called when needed. EX:
mergefield1 will call query "Case.Parties.FirstOrDefault.NameEn"
mergefield2 will call query "Case.CaseNumber"
mergefield3 will call query "Case.Documents.FirstOrDefault.DocumentContent.DocumentType"
Etc,
So, for a particular template I scan its merge fields, and for each merge field I take it`s "query definition" and make that request to database using EntityFramework and LINQ. Ex. it works for these queries: "TimeSlots.FirstOrDefault.StartDateTime" or
"Case.CaseNumber"
This will be an engine which will generate word documents and fill it with merge fields from xml. In addition, it will work for any new template or new merge field.
Now, I have worked a version using reflection.
public string GetColumnValueByObjectByName(Expression<Func<TEntity, bool>> filter = null, string objectName = "", string dllName = "", string objectID = "", string propertyName = "")
{
string objectDllName = objectName + ", " + dllName;
Type type = Type.GetType(objectDllName);
Guid oID = new Guid(objectID);
dynamic Entity = context.Set(type).Find(oID); // get Object by Type and ObjectID
string value = ""; //the value which will be filled with data from database
IEnumerable<string> linqMethods = typeof(System.Linq.Enumerable).GetMethods(BindingFlags.Static | BindingFlags.Public).Select(s => s.Name).ToList(); //get all linq methods and save them as list of strings
if (propertyName.Contains('.'))
{
string[] properies = propertyName.Split('.');
dynamic object1 = Entity;
IEnumerable<dynamic> Child = new List<dynamic>();
for (int i = 0; i < properies.Length; i++)
{
if (i < properies.Length - 1 && linqMethods.Contains(properies[i + 1]))
{
Child = type.GetProperty(properies[i]).GetValue(object1, null);
}
else if (linqMethods.Contains(properies[i]))
{
object1 = Child.Cast<object>().FirstOrDefault(); //for now works only with FirstOrDefault - Later it will be changed to work with ToList or other linq methods
type = object1.GetType();
}
else
{
if (linqMethods.Contains(properies[i]))
{
object1 = type.GetProperty(properies[i + 1]).GetValue(object1, null);
}
else
{
object1 = type.GetProperty(properies[i]).GetValue(object1, null);
}
type = object1.GetType();
}
}
value = object1.ToString(); //.StartDateTime.ToString();
}
return value;
}
I`m not sure if this is the best approach. Does anyone have a better suggestion, or maybe someone has already done something like this?
To shorten it: The idea is to make generic linq queries to database from a string like: "Case.Parties.FirstOrDefault.NameEn".
Your approach is very good. I have no doubt that it already works.
Another approach is using Expression Tree like #Egorikas have suggested.
Disclaimer: I'm the owner of the project Eval-Expression.NET
In short, this library allows you to evaluate almost any C# code at runtime (What you exactly want to do).
I would suggest you use my library instead. To keep the code:
More readable
Easier to support
Add some flexibility
Example
public string GetColumnValueByObjectByName(Expression<Func<TEntity, bool>> filter = null, string objectName = "", string dllName = "", string objectID = "", string propertyName = "")
{
string objectDllName = objectName + ", " + dllName;
Type type = Type.GetType(objectDllName);
Guid oID = new Guid(objectID);
object Entity = context.Set(type).Find(oID); // get Object by Type and ObjectID
var value = Eval.Execute("x." + propertyName, new { x = entity });
return value.ToString();
}
The library also allow you to use dynamic string with IQueryable

DataSet does not support System.Nullable<>

i have an app which has btn to preview report made in crystal report. I added Dataset as datasource of the report and dragged datatable from the toolbox and added the fields I need as columns. I got the instruction from this link http://aspalliance.com/2049_Use_LINQ_to_Retrieve_Data_for_Your_Crystal_Reports.2. This is my 2nd report the first one works and did not encounter any prob at all that is why i am confused, not to mention it also has nullable column. the error says: DataSet does not support System.Nullable<>.
private void ShowReportView()
{
string reportFile = "JudgeInfoFMReport.rpt";
ObservableCollection<tblJudgeFileMaint> judgeFileMaintList;
judgeFileMaintList = GenerateReport();
if (judgeFileMaintList.Count > 0)
{
CrystalReportViewerUC crview2 = new CrystalReportViewerUC();
crview2.SetReportPathFile(reportFile, judgeFileMaintList);
crview2.ShowDialog();
}
else
{
System.Windows.MessageBox.Show("No record found.", module, MessageBoxButton.OK, MessageBoxImage.Information);
}
}
private ObservableCollection<tblJudgeFileMaint> GenerateReport()
{
var result = FileMaintenanceBusiness.Instance.GetAllJudgeInfoList();
return new ObservableCollection<tblJudgeFileMaint>(result);
}
The error is in the part where I set datasource report.SetDataSource
public bool SetReportPathFile(string reportPathFile, IEnumerable enumerable)
{
string reportFolder = #"\CrystalReportViewer\Reports\";
string filename = System.Windows.Forms.Application.StartupPath + reportFolder + reportPathFile; // "\\Reports\\CrystalReports\\DateWiseEmployeeInfoReport.rpt";
ReportPathFile = filename;
report.Load(ReportPathFile);
report.SetDataSource(enumerable);
report.SetDatabaseLogon("sa", "admin007");
bRet = true;
}
_IsLoaded = bRet;
return bRet;
}
I read some answers and says I should set the null value to DBNUll which I did in the properties window of each column if it is nullable. Can anyone help me please? thanks
Your question can be seen in this post, but in a generic way ... that way you can pass an Object to a DataSet typed!
.NET - Convert Generic Collection to DataTable
figured it out. by using a collectionextention, copied somewhere, I forgot the link. Os to whoever it is who made the class, credits to you.
class method looks like this.
public statis class CollectionExtension {
public static DataSet ToDataSet<T>(this IEnumerable<T> collection, string dataTableName)
{
if (collection == null)
{
throw new ArgumentNullException("collection");
}
if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(dataTableName))
{
throw new ArgumentNullException("dataTableName");
}
DataSet data = new DataSet("NewDataSet");
data.Tables.Add(FillDataTable(dataTableName, collection));
return data;
}
}
then you can use it by doing this in getting your source to your report:
private DataSet GenerateNeutralContEducReport(string dsName)
{
var contEduHistoryList = FileMaintenanceBusiness.Instance.GetManyNeutralFMContEducHistoryInfobyKeyword(CurrentNeutralFM.NeutralID, "NeutralID").ToList();
return CollectionExtensions.ToDataSet<tblContinuingEducationHistory>(contEduHistoryList, dsName);
}
I found little help from the other proposed answers but this solution worked.
A different way to solve this problem is to make the data column nullable.
DataColumn column = new DataColumn("column", Type.GetType("System.Int32"));
column.AllowDBNull = true;
dataTable.Columns.Add(column);
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.data.datacolumn.allowdbnull?view=netcore-3.1
foreach (PropertyDescriptor property in properties)
{
dt.Columns.Add(property.Name, Nullable.GetUnderlyingType(property.PropertyType) ?? property.PropertyType);
}

how to programmatically access the builtin properties of an open xml worddoc file

i would like to access some built in properties(like author,last modified date,etc.) of an open xml word doc file. i would like to use open xml sdk2.0 for this purpose. so i wonder if there is any class or any way i could programmatically access these builtin properties.
An explanation of the following method can be found here, but pretty much you need to pass in the properties that you want to get out of the core.xml file to this method and it will return the value:
public static string WDRetrieveCoreProperty(string docName, string propertyName)
{
// Given a document name and a core property, retrieve the value of the property.
// Note that because this code uses the SelectSingleNode method,
// the search is case sensitive. That is, looking for "Author" is not
// the same as looking for "author".
const string corePropertiesSchema = "http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/package/2006/metadata/core-properties";
const string dcPropertiesSchema = "http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/";
const string dcTermsPropertiesSchema = "http://purl.org/dc/terms/";
string propertyValue = string.Empty;
using (WordprocessingDocument wdPackage = WordprocessingDocument.Open(docName, true))
{
// Get the core properties part (core.xml).
CoreFilePropertiesPart corePropertiesPart = wdPackage.CoreFilePropertiesPart;
// Manage namespaces to perform XML XPath queries.
NameTable nt = new NameTable();
XmlNamespaceManager nsManager = new XmlNamespaceManager(nt);
nsManager.AddNamespace("cp", corePropertiesSchema);
nsManager.AddNamespace("dc", dcPropertiesSchema);
nsManager.AddNamespace("dcterms", dcTermsPropertiesSchema);
// Get the properties from the package.
XmlDocument xdoc = new XmlDocument(nt);
// Load the XML in the part into an XmlDocument instance.
xdoc.Load(corePropertiesPart.GetStream());
string searchString = string.Format("//cp:coreProperties/{0}", propertyName);
XmlNode xNode = xdoc.SelectSingleNode(searchString, nsManager);
if (!(xNode == null))
{
propertyValue = xNode.InnerText;
}
}
return propertyValue;
}
You can also use the packaging API:
using System.IO.Packaging.Package;
[...]
using (var package = Package.Open(path))
{
package.PackageProperties.Creator = Environment.UserName;
package.PackageProperties.LastModifiedBy = Environment.UserName;
}
That works also for other open XML formats like power point.
package.Save();
Then
package.closed;
I think that Is the best way.
