Hyperledger Fabric - Could not start peer - "Could not find genesis.yaml" - centos

I wanted to natively build the code, so I downloaded the code and the make was successful for peer and membersrvc. I built it on a CentOS VM running on VirtualBox.
Now, when I attempt to run peer, it throws up the below error; unfortunately, I could not find a relevant documentation that could help me resolve this.
$ ./peer node start

I could start membersrvc without errors.
Any clue?
Can someone point me to a relevant documentation on "setting PEER_CFG_PATH, ORDERER_CFG_PATH". I tried setting environment variables rather than updating a configuration file - which did not help.
Thanks!

Failed to infer CIDR network for mon ip

I follow the instructions to bootstrap a new Ceph (I'm new to Ceph) cluster.

What does it mean ? How to fix it ?
cephadm is still fairly new. I've tracked a few days ago in:
https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/44828
Please run
ceph config set mon public_network <mon_network>
after bootstrap finished.
Is this the exact command you ran?
sudo cephadm bootstrap --mon-ip *<mon-ip>*
If so you actually need to replace *<mon-ip>* with the actual IP address that you want the monitor daemon to listen on.
For future reference, on that page, any command you see that has a variable surrounded by asterisks is something you would need to replace with an address/host/hostname etc. that applies to your environment.

Cannot send command IR with HotPI

I bought a HotPi a while ago, and decided to use it. So I followed the procedure to configure the IR and after a few hours I was able to IR signals on my Raspberry 1.
But my purpose here is to send IR signals, which I tried, without any luck.
So this is the command I try to do (just for test):
irsend SEND_START devinput KEY_POWER ; sleep 3
And this is what lircd tells me:
lircd-0.9.4c[907]: Notice: accepted new client on /var/run/lirc/lircd
lircd-0.9.4c[907]: Info: Cannot configure the rc device for /dev/lirc0

lircd-0.9.4c[907]: Error: transmission failed

Edit:
It seems I'm not using the good drivers. According to the HotPi documentation, I'm suppose to use lirc-rpi, which I'm suppos to install with
sudo modprobe lirc-rpi
Which, at least, doesn't return an error. But trying to configure the interface tells me that the driver doesn't exist:
pi#raspberrypi:~ $ mode2 --driver lirc-rpi --device /dev/lirc0
Driver `lirc-rpi' not found. (Missing -U/--plugins option?)

Here is no info what lirc version you are using. There are vast differences between the legacy 0.9.0 still used in some distros and modern lirc.
That said, the logs seems pretty clear. You are using the devinput driver, right? This driver does not support sending data, reflecting the fact that also the kernel doesn't.
You then need to use another driver - first stop might be the default one. If/when using this other driver, you need another lircd.conf.
Please refer to http://lirc.org/html/configuration-guide.html
EDIT: Ah, lirc-0.9.4c says the log. Sorry, my bad. The reply should still be valid, though.
When you record the remote, use:
irrecord -d /dev/lirc0 -f name.conf
The -f uses raw mode. This then worked for me on the transmit side, before I got same error as you.

failed to find free socket port for process dispatcher when trying remote debug

Highlights:
windows 10 host machine
ubuntu vagrant box (virtualbox) as guest vm
using vagrant port forwarding as like this: config.vm.network "forwarded_port", guest: 1234, host: 12340
IDE: IntelliJ IDEA with Ruby plugin
The Issue:
I've tried to set up remote ruby debug following this guide and getting an error in IDE: "failed to find free socket port for process dispatcher". It looks this issue is not IntelliJ-specific, I was able to reproduce it with latest RubyMine as well.
From IDEA's log
2017-07-07 21:53:03,515 [8879188] INFO - tion.impl.ExecutionManagerImpl - Failed to find free socket port for process dispatcher

...
I can understand it says Address already in use: JVM_Bind, but how remote debug supposed to work at all then? (I mean Is there any way to access guest vm port not forwarding it before? Clearly no) Any help to solve this issue is much appreciated.
For me the issue was due to another debug session that was open in the background. To prevent that from happening again (and also close all other currently open sessions, once you run the configuration again) select "Single instance only" in the Debug Configuration:

IBM BLUEMIX BLOCKCHAIN SDK-DEMO failing

I have been working with HFC SDK for Node.js and it used to work, but since last night I am having some problems.
When running helloblockchain.js only few times works, most time I get this error when it tries to enroll a new user:

This code worked yesterday, so I don't know what could be happening.
Does anybody know how can I fix it?
Thanks,
Javier.

These types of intermittent issues are usually related to GRPC. An initial suggestion is to ensure that you are using at least GRPC version 1.0.0.
If you are using a Mac, then the maximum number of open file descriptors should be checked (using ulimit -n). Sometimes this is initially set to a low value such as 256, so increasing the value could help.
There are a couple of GRPC issues with similar symptoms.
https://github.com/grpc/grpc/issues/8732
https://github.com/grpc/grpc/issues/8839
https://github.com/grpc/grpc/issues/8382
There is a grpc.initial_reconnect_backoff_ms property that is mentioned in some of these issues. Increasing the value past the 1000 ms level might help reduce the frequency of issues. Below are instructions for how the helloblockchain.js file can be modified to set this property to a higher value.
Open the helloblockchain.js file in the Hyperledger Fabric Client example and find the enrollAndRegisterUsers function.
Add “grpc.initial_reconnect_backoff_ms": 5000 to the setMemberServicesUrl call.
chain.setMemberServicesUrl(ca_url, {
pem: cert, "grpc.initial_reconnect_backoff_ms": 5000
});
Add “grpc.initial_reconnect_backoff_ms": 5000 to the addPeer call.
chain.addPeer("grpcs://" + peers[i].discovery_host + ":" + peers[i].discovery_port,
{pem: cert, "grpc.initial_reconnect_backoff_ms": 5000
});
Note that setting the grpc.initial_reconnect_backoff_ms property may reduce the frequency of issues, but it will not necessarily eliminate all issues.
The connection to the eventhub that is made in the helloblockchain.js file can also be a factor. There is an earlier version of the Hyperledger Fabric Client that does not utilize the eventhub. This earlier version could be tried to determine if this makes a difference. After running git clone https://github.com/IBM-Blockchain/SDK-Demo.git, run git checkout b7d5195 to use this prior level. Before running node helloblockchain.js from a Node.js command window, the git status command can be used to check the code level that is being used.

I got the same problem in IntelliJ IDEA.
Changing the connection type from FTP to SFTP helped. I hope it's also possible for you.
