I populated a tableView with an array of dictionaries Now How can I save the cell contents to Core Data and retrieve it in another tableView ?
I loaded an array of dictionaries to a tableView:
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "Cell", for: indexPath) as! SourceTableViewCell
cell.titleLabel.text = sourceFeeds[indexPath.row]["title"]
cell.linkLabel.text = sourceFeeds[indexPath.row]["link"]
return cell
}
Now I want to save those link and title to core data in cell selection
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, didSelectRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) {
self.tableView.deselectRow(at: indexPath, animated: true)
let cell = self.tableView.cellForRow(at: indexPath) as! SourceTableViewCell
if self.tableView.cellForRow(at: indexPath)?.accessoryType == UITableViewCellAccessoryType.none {
self.tableView.cellForRow(at: indexPath)?.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryType.checkmark
} else {
self.tableView.cellForRow(at: indexPath)?.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryType.none
}
}
I want to mention that "sourceFeeds" array has loaded from plist!
I found the solution of my problem finally!

I am using two images for cell, one i am showing when tableview cell is expand and the other one when cell is collapse
when cell expand i am using arrow-bottom
when cell is collapse arrow-right
for cell expand and collapse i am using below code:
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, didSelectRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) {
tableView.deselectRow(at: indexPath, animated: true)
let cell = tableView.cellForRow(at: indexPath) as! FAQTableVIewCell
if selectedIndex == indexPath.row{
if self.isCollapse == false{
cell.arrowImage.image = UIImage(named: "arrow-rightt")
self.isCollapse = true
}else{
cell.arrowImage.image = UIImage(named: "arrow-bottom")
self.isCollapse = false
}
}else{
self.isCollapse = true
}
self.selectedIndex = indexPath.row
tableView.reloadRows(at: [indexPath], with: .automatic)
}
but the above code not working properly, first time when i expand cell its not showing bottom arrow, and if i expand two cells then also its not showing properly, pls do help with code
i need when cell expand then i need to show bottom-arrow, when cell in normal(back to its orginal position or collapsed position) then i need to show right-arrow
When you reload rows, they get in cellForRowAt method.
You must apply changes in this method. Store collapsed indexPath and check it in method.
With array:
override func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
//use your cell identifier
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "FAQTableVIewCell", for: indexPath) as! FAQTableVIewCell
let image = collapsedCells.contains(indexPath) ? UIImage(named: "arrow-rightt") : UIImage(named: "arrow-bottom")
cell.image = image
//other settings
return cell
}
var collapsedCells = [IndexPath]()
override func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, heightForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> CGFloat {
//use your height values instead 44 and 120
return collapsedCells.contains(indexPath) ? 44 : 120
}
override func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, didSelectRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) {
tableView.deselectRow(at: indexPath, animated: true)
if let index = collapsedCells.firstIndex(of: indexPath) {
collapsedCells.remove(at: index)
} else {
collapsedCells.append(indexPath)
}
tableView.reloadRows(at: [indexPath], with: .automatic)
}
I have tableview datasource func to build a cell from a factory method function.
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
return OWTableViewOrganizer.instance.configureCell(at: indexPath)!
}
The factory method is here:
func configureCell(at indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell? {
var cell = UITableViewCell()
switch indexPath.section {
case thisWorkoutSections.barbel.sectionNumber():
cell = barebellCell(indexPath: indexPath)
break
case thisWorkoutSections.lastWorkout.sectionNumber():
cell = lastWorkoutCell(indexPath: indexPath)
break
case thisWorkoutSections.personalRecord.sectionNumber():
cell = personalRecordCell(indexPath: indexPath)
break
case thisWorkoutSections.notes.sectionNumber():
break
default:
break
}
return cell
}
I have this code to build the cell:
func lastWorkoutCell(indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: WorkoutSetTableViewCell.cellIdentifier(), for: indexPath) as! WorkoutSetTableViewCell
if OWTableViewOrganizer.instance.lastWorkoutExerciseSets.count > 0 {
if indexPath.row < OWTableViewOrganizer.instance.lastWorkoutExerciseSets.count {
let logExerciseSet = OWTableViewOrganizer.instance.lastWorkoutExerciseSets[indexPath.row]
let setNumber = indexPath.row + 1
if let weight = logExerciseSet.weight?.doubleValue, let reps = logExerciseSet.reps?.intValue {
cell.setupCellWithData(setNumber: setNumber, weight: weight, reps: reps)
}
} else {
cell.setupCellWithData(setNumber: -1, weight: 0, reps: 0)
}
} else {
cell.setupCellWithData(setNumber: -1, weight: 0, reps: 0)
}
return cell
}
But time to time this line crashes for me:
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: WorkoutSetTableViewCell.cellIdentifier(), for: indexPath) as! WorkoutSetTableViewCell
With error:
Attempted to dequeue multiple cells for the same index path, which is not allowed. If you really need to dequeue more cells than the table view is requesting, use the -dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: method (without an index path)
I know code style and design is not ideal here, please skip this if you have comments.
I don't know where to look, I tried simply remove indexPath, but it looks does not help or bring even more issues:
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: WorkoutSetTableViewCell.cellIdentifier()) as! WorkoutSetTableViewCell
I have one controller which presents another one at the top of it (like in Apple music) and I can swipe down to show bottom controller and swipe up to bring back top controller. I noticed in log that I have some presentation alert, not sure if this something I need to deal with to resolve the issue above but JFY info.
It seems like there are two table view trigger
tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath)
and you only dequeue cell from 1 table view at
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: WorkoutSetTableViewCell.cellIdentifier(), for: indexPath) as! WorkoutSetTableViewCell
You should try to pass tableView from
tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath)
to
lastWorkoutCell(indexPath: IndexPath)
(which will become lastWorkoutCell(indexPath: IndexPath, tableView: UITableView)) and dequeue cell from tableView
I will paste some of my code
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
if menu == "your_products"{
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "VendorTableViewCellId", for: indexPath as IndexPath) as! VendorTableViewCell
let vendor = self.vendors![indexPath.row]
cell.setVendor(vendor: vendor)
return cell
}else{
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "EventTableViewCellId", for: indexPath as IndexPath) as! EventTableViewCell
cell.setEvent(event: self.events![indexPath.row])
return cell
}
}
how to access each section and each row through last function didSelectRowAtIndexPath using indexPath.section and indexPath.row in multiple cell?
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, didSelectRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) {
self.tableView.deselectRow(at: indexPath as IndexPath, animated: false)
print("You tapped cell number \(indexPath.row).")
}
Remove this line self.tableView.deselectRow(at: indexPath as IndexPath, animated: false)
#objc func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, didSelectRowAt indexPath: IndexPath)
{
print(indexPath.row)
print(indexPath.section)
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, didSelectRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) {
print("You tapped cell number \(indexPath.row).")
}
I think it should work.
If this is not working then please check your delegates are connected or not.
Does anyone have an official answer as to why some tableview cell lines disappear on scroll? Is this a glitch? I've seen some answers on how to remove them but what is causing this problem to begin with?
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
if indexPath.section == 0 {
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "DisplayHeader") as! DisplayTVC
return cell
} else {
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "PictureDisplay") as! PictureTVC
cell.collectionView.reloadData()
return cell
}
}
I have a tableView with two different custom cell. One cell have a switch and other a image, I have Two separated custom class for the cells, identifiers.. but I can't see this. i don't know if I need change the configuration in story board to dynamic or other thing.. Can I show two different custom cells
Thanks!
Check the criteria for showing each specific custom cell, then cast to that cell as needed:
override func tableView(tableView: UITableView?, cellForRowAtIndexPath indexPath: NSIndexPath?) -> UITableViewCell? {
if (criteria for cell 1) {
let cell = tableView!.dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier("cell1", forIndexPath: indexPath) as? Cell1
return (cell)
}
else {
let cell = tableView!.dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier("cell2", forIndexPath: indexPath) as? Cell2
return (cell)
}
}
Swift 3
override func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath -> UITableViewCell {
if (criteria for cell 1) {
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "cell1", for: indexPath) as! Cell1
return cell
}
else {
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "cell2", for: indexPath) as! Cell2
return cell
}
}
override func tableView(tableView: UITableView?,cellForRowAtIndexPath indexPath: NSIndexPath?) -> UITableViewCell? {
if (...) {
let cell : Mycell1 = tableView!.dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier("Mycell1", forIndexPath: indexPath) as? Mycell1
return cell
}
else {
let cell : Mycell2 = tableView!.dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier("Mycell2", forIndexPath: indexPath) as? Mycell2
return cell
}
}
