One year ago, I installed MAMP 3.5 on my husband's MacBookAir (10.10.5) and I created a complete site woth WordPress. Since then I have opened another account (User2) on this Mac and I worked on-line but when I try to open MAMP on User2's account, no way.
I try "Démarrer les serveurs", it doesn't want to switch on.

Receiving an error trying to load up MAMP 4.5 after downgrading from version 5 to 4.5 because their serial number system is broke and no one in support is working.
This message comes up when trying to start, any thoughts?
Downloaded from the website under "older versions"
https://www.mamp.info/en/downloads/older-versions/
OS: Mac
I had to downgrade, as well; though in my case it's because mySQL will not upgrade my databases, but I was able to license it.
I was able to successfully downgrade by doing the following:
Backed up the /Applications/MAMP folder (just in case)
Deleted /Applications/MAMP and /Applications/MAMP Pro.app by moving them to the trash (these were created by MAMP Pro 5 installer)
Downloaded and installed MAMP Pro 4.5 from the link you posted above
I'm back up and running with MAMP Pro 4.5 at this point, so looks like everything worked out. Good luck! Depending on your setup, you might need to migrate stuff out of the /Applications/MAMP folder (definitely back that sucker up before you delete it).
Please note: For my original answer, I mis-read the MAMP Pro docs and incorrectly re-located the database directory in /Applications/MAMP/db to my user Library folder (~/Library). This apparently did nothing, because the databases were actually located in the root-level /Library folder. I highly recommend backing this folder up prior to upgrading or downgrading. The MAMP 5 installer automatically copies your mysql56 folder, but the problem I ran into is that evidently it didn't copy all of the database folders within it (which is presumably why the mySQL 5.7 upgrade logic was failing hard on my end). So a backup is a great idea, because the steps the MAMP installer takes to keep a historical backup don't actually work too well in my experience.
I just bought a new MacBook Pro 2016 Edition about 2 weeks ago.
I installed a bunch of applications and software so far by copying them into Applications Folder as well as by following installer wizard.
Now today I tried to install Wireshark using installer wizard. I tried to install teamviewer too later today which also uses installer wizard. And both give me the same error.
I really need to resolve this because I need TeamViewer soon and I'm not finding anyone else facing this issue online anywhere.
Please advise.
Thank you
I also encountered such an error before,to solve it dont copy the pakage to your app folder, but instead open it with admin powers and that should fix the issue.
If you have purchased this software then you can call the tech support, else dont call them it can put you in danger for installing pirated software.
I looked everywhere. Didn't find a viable solution. But then reinstalled the OS. Which didn't affect any of my data or installed application. I got the whole Operating System the same way I left it. But resolved the issue I was facing.
Hi in Mamp Pro I accidentally removed the root account, so I now cannot use mysql to create new databases and all other operations.
This is the error I get when startng mysql via mamp pro:
Checking MySQL databases failed
Error message:
/Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysqlcheck: Got error: 1044: Access denied for user 'root'#'localhost' to database 'mysql' when selecting the database
I have tried to reset to factory settings but that hasn't helped.
Basically in the users overview in Phpmyadmin, I just get a yellow box saying "No privileges".
I also tried to uninstall Mamp Pro, but when I tick the uninstaller's checkboxes and hit uninstall, I get the following error:
Error
The privileged action failed.
Help would be really appreciated since I cannot do any work like this.
MAMP evidently creates some configuration files that can't be wiped via the uninstaller. I was able to circumvent the The privileged action failed error and completely uninstall MAMP Pro using the following steps:
Delete the appsolute directory from /Library/Application Support , which contains configuration files that are created upon MAMP Pro installation
Delete the file hosts.mamp.bak in /etc, which is the MAMP hosts backup file
Delete the MAMP directory from /Applications/MAMP
Open the MAMP Pro Uninstaller, check all five options, and click to uninstall
This should completely wipe the existing MAMP/MAMP Pro installation and enable a clean, fresh install. You may need to restart your computer to get Apache running after re-installation.
I installed Klocwork 9.2.1.7276 on a fresh Windows Server 2008 x86 system. During the installation, I selected all Klocwork components to be installed (database server, licence server, Klocwork server) and ensured that all three servers were running in the Klocwork Management Console. I ran kwauthconfig and set the authentication scheme to None.
However, when I attempt to visit the Klocwork Product Portal (Start > Programs > Klocwork 9.2 > Klocwork Product Portal), Internet Explorer opens and displays a blank web page served from port 8080 on the local machine (http://klocwork:8080). If I change the URL to http://klocwork:8080/portal/Portal, I get the expected page. However, when I click on the links to Klocwork Review (http://klocwork:8080/review) or Klocwork Inspect (http://klocwork:8080/codereview), I get similarly blank web pages.
My production server (installed years ago by someone who has since left the company) performs as expected, but I need to move it from Windows XP to Windows Server 2008. I have read through the Klocwork 9.2 documentation, and don't think I've missed any configuration steps. This is the third time I have attempted this installation on a clean machine, each time with the same result. On one of these occasions, I ran a Klocwork build (using kwinject, kwadmin, kwbuildproject, and kwadmin load) but was not able to view the build because KW Review and Inspect don't work.
Does anyone know how to get a fresh install of Klocwork 9.2 in a state where Review and Inspect will function? Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some advice.
The cause of this problem turned out to be a combination of Windows Server 2008's Windows Firewall and Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration (IE-ESC) -- both of which are enabled by default in Windows 2008, and neither of which I disabled before installing Klocwork.
Disabling the Windows Firewall and IE-ESC after Klocwork was installed did not fix the problem.
However, I reverted the machine to a snapshot taken just before I originally installed Klocwork, disabled both Windows Firewall and IE-ESC, installed Klocwork, turned off authentication with kwauthconfig, and now the Klocwork Review and Klocwork Inspect login screens load as expected (and http://klocwork:8080 now redirects to http://klocwork:8080/portal/Portal).
I'm trying to get .asp pages working on Windows Internet Information Server 6.0 on Win XP Pro (I originally mistakenly posted this as Home).
I found instructions in several places that say I should enable it in the Web Services Extension folder.
Problem is that my IIS6 doesn't have that folder under the local computer.
Update: I tried getting it to work with IIS5 but (as noted below) the instructions call for a WSE folder that isn't present.
So I installed IIS6. Hence my question is about IIS6.
Do I perhaps need to uninstall IIS6
IIRC XP has IIS 5.1, not 6.0, so the instructions for "Web Services Extension" do not apply
I recall IIS 5.1 only allowing ASP support on a virtual folder, not on the root level for some reason?
Have you run the IIS lockdown tool and locked out ASP? Need to undo that :-)
