Just verifying that Reports can not be created or modified using the API.
I'm using Python.
Craig
You are correct. The Smartsheet API allows you to publish or share an existing report, but it does not allow you to create or modify.
We would love to hear about your specific use case as we consider future enhancements to the API. Let us know what you're trying to do at api#smartsheet.com.

I'm trying to query the Azure Devops REST API to see when a project first came into existence and, perhaps, who created it. I'm using the link below and my results do match the documentation which, unfortunately, doesn't include create date. Is there any other ways to query AzDo REST API to get this data?
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/azure/devops/core/projects/get%20project%20properties?view=azure-devops-rest-5.1
I am afraid there is no rest api to get the start date of project. The start date property is not included in the returned results of Get Project Api.
This issue has been reported to Microsoft develop team. You can vote up this thread or submit a new feature(Click Suggest a feature and choose Azure Devops).
My company keeps individual employee schedules. Each employee manages their own schedule. Admin, supervisors and project manager have to go to each sheet and look for the information.
I need to create a system that allows someone to select a date range and skill set then produce a sheet with the information that matches the criteria. I have installed the Python API and worked through a few tutorials.
Now I need to know how to make command buttons, date pickers . . .
A quick read of my search results indicates that this is not part of the Smartsheet API!
Is there a way to do this through the SmartSheet API? Or how would you approach this?
The Smartsheet API enables you to programmatically access data in Smartsheet (i.e., create, read, update, delete data in Smartsheet). This is true for all APIs -- they simply provide a means for you to programmatically access data. You'll need to build the web app's user interface (UI) yourself by using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
Alternatively -- instead of building a custom web application like you've described -- I'd suggest that you look into the possibility of creating Smartsheet Reports that can provide the data you've described. You can create Smartsheet Reports via the Smartsheet UI -- so you wouldn't need to do any programming at all.
I have written some reports that contain data I'd like to programmatically access via API from an external system. I can't find any documentation or sample code to do so via any one of the 3 APIs. Has anyone used one of Archer's APIs to pull data from a report externally?
Unfortunately, you cannot pull reports via the REST API (yet), you'll have to use the Web Services API via the SearchRecordsbyReport method.
Has anyone queried the Azure Graph REST API by licenses? I can't find any examples using REST online. We use REST for our operations and a need has come up to generate license reports and I'd like to be able to execute queries based on license codes.
Any help would be appreciate. Thanks for your time.
According to your description, it seems that you’d like to filter users by assignedLicenses that is a multi-valued complex type. From this documentation, we could find that currently the API seems not support querying of (filtering) a multi-valued complex type (assignedLicenses).
As a workaround, you could try to get users from API and leave the filtering on the client side.
Looking in at the DATA.com API we do have a license for 1000 API queries a day. My question is we are looking at a different CRM to handle our outbound sales processes other than SalesForce.
Base CRM looks like it is capable of handling our needs for our business and account processes. Is it possible to have the Base API send queries to the Data.com API and return the results?
I also see there is an API purchase within the SalesForce API. When you conduct a search API query does it require you to purchase the results if you have a license already in place to use Data.com?
Our goal is to have a primary CRM pull information from Data.com or another source for lead information and display it in the new CRM.
If none of this is possible with the solution I am looking at might you suggest other platforms.
Thank you!
Unfortunately, we don't currently offer the triggers to query Data.com's database. However, there are a couple of other ways to integrate Data.com with Base. You can either use a polling-driven trigger to Data.com, you could attempt to configure a workflow in Data.com to send this data over to Base, or you could use an import to pull this data into Base (as many of our customers have done). I hope that helps!
