codename one sharebutton 400: Bad Request - facebook

I've been trying to use the native sharebutton integrated into the Codename one project, except that when I click "Post", a "400 : Bad Request" error appears. No exception is thrown, and I have no stacktrace in my console.
Code :
ShareButton sb = new ShareButton();
sb.addActionListener((evt) -> {
System.out.println("clicked");
});
hi.add(sb);
sb.setImageToShare("file://home/230r3EdWRk4kP6WDiMBM", "image/jpg");
sb.setTextToShare("Test facebook");
hi.show();
Another inssue is that the text to share is invisible.

400 just means bad request. This could be for many reasons. Make sure that the file path you provided exists etc..
AND
I seem to recall that Facebook no longer lets you share an Image and text at the same time. You can do one or the other. If you want to share something that has an image and text, you need to create a dynamic webpage that uses their Open Graph Markup, and share a link to that. Then it will be formatted nicely in the news feed.
It's been a while since I've had to do this, so I'm going by memory here... Things could have changed.

Thanks,
I fixed my problem by following the Facebook Demo at this link :https://github.com/codenameone/codenameone-demos/tree/master/FacebookDemo
Turns out that there are issues with the builtin share button, so you need to use multipart requests.

How to open a draft created with Gmail API in browser?

Im trying to create a gmail draft using gmail API and open it in a new tab.
When i try to open a draft using the following url : https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#drafts/ draft id , from a external web it does not open the draft. Instead it lists the drafts.
If i do the same in a Gmail tab it works as expected.
You can reproduce it following this steps
Chose any draft and copy its message id , you can use this
Create a url joining https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#drafts/ + the message id you got in the last step.
Open a new tab in Chrome and paste it, it will send you to your draft list.
If you paste the same url in the the same tab it will open the draft.
More information about the problem
It does not work with https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#drafts/?compose= neither
Chrome console throws this error when i try to open a draft from another tab
console error
I noticed if you open a draft the url is like this one https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#drafts?compose=JHrtffLJpZXxNwzKGMhcjvjBrqfPRwKWvkvJbtWpRffXldzxkNQhmkkBWJsHPbdSPdDgBVKpHKZMNtCVFgXrhwMCVjCdCRqTLJhGvqrXNKFZmJDGZ , this url works also to open the draft editor from other tabs, but where does the compose value come from?
I know it is not a API error or problem but if somebody had the same problem and know any way to solve it i will apreciate.
So the question is, how can i create a url to open a gmail draft using Gmail API ?
The way to make this url changed, now it works like this:
mail.google.com/mail/#inbox?compose=draft.message.id
If you list your drafts you get
{
"drafts": [
{
"id": "r5632827412362757569",
"message": {
"id": "174f4fa0dd96af123",
"threadId": "174f4f59344d6321"
}
}
],
...
}
So, to open this draft you need the following url :
mail.google.com/mail/#inbox?compose=174f4fa0dd96af123
Your goal:
To be able to open a browser tab directly focused on a specific draft of your choosing, from the drafts in your mailbox. (Correct me if I'm wrong).
Background:
You noticed that drafts have a "compose" parameter visible in the url when focused within the UI.
The drafts resource doesn't include the "compose" parameter, so we can't get it from the API, and it also isn't equal to the draft id.
Conclusion:
Since the parameter needed is not publicly available via API, you can't achieve your goal at the moment. You can request the feature to Google directly by creating a "Feature Request" for the Gmail API. Here's the link Issue Tracker.

Can't display Facebook user avatar with Facebook API and Graph

I'm working in a React-Native app, and I'm also allowing users to login using FBSDK.
There seems to be an issue at the moment when trying to get the profile picture URL.
There are also several reports of this, like this one but still, after a year doesn't seem to be solved.
Attempted many ways but none worked, it always tries to download the file, seems it's missing the mime-type according to what the browser says.
The URL it gives is the following:
https://platform-lookaside.fbsbx.com/platform/profilepic/?asid={{myfbid}}&height=50&width=50&ext=1583348357&hash=AeTnFpMVwBXgFy_J
Also tried using the graph url directly: http://graph.facebook.com/{myid}/picture
And if I add the &redirect=false, it returns a data object with the platform-lookaside URL.
Everything I try, it tries to download.
This is how I'm currently trying to get the image using Graph API.
new GraphRequestManager().addRequest(new GraphRequest(
'/me',
{
accessToken: fbToken,
parameters: {
fields: {
string: 'picture.type(large)'
}
}
},
graphRequestCallback
)).start();
It works, but the URL is the same.
Any idea on how can I solve this? I might be missing something or the bug is still happening?
If you just change the graph url (http://graph.facebook.com/{myid}/picture) from http to https, it should work for you. Not sure if that's a new fix in React Native or not, but that solved it for me.

ref=ts on facebook app url cause app not found error

I've create an facebook app and it run smoothly at
https://apps.facebook.com/icoloringstar/
But the problem is: when I search my app name "icoloring star" in facebook, it link to the app at url:
https://apps.facebook.com/icoloringstar/?fb_source=search&ref=ts
Then facebook said that:
App "iColoring Star" is unavailable
The app "iColoring Star" is temporarily unavailable due to an issue with its third-party developer. We are investigating the situation and apologize for any inconvenience.
We found that url part "ref=ts" cause above problem, but really do not know why?
Could you explain me why and how to resolve this problem?
Thank you very much.
It sounds like your code is failing when the ref parameter is supplied in the request path.
I was able to repro this with any arbitrary value in the ref parameter when accessing your app
Check your server logs and and see if you're returning a 500 error to facebook when the request comes in
See if you have any code that parses a ref parameter and check it's not throwing exceptions
Make sure your callback URL in the app settings doesn't also specify a ref parameter or your app may receive two values and/or fail entirely
It means 'Top Search'. User enter a query into the top of search.
There are some ref parameters.. ref=bookmarks for example. I dont know the full list.
Did you put your app on Facebook App Center?

Simplest example for sending post data via links in Zend Framework

Starting with Zend and I´d like to know what is the simplest way of sending POST data to another page, not by forms, but by some link in my view instead. Thanks :)
You can't send POST data through a link. At least not through a normal link. Link can only carry GET data.
If you need to send POST over a link it's most certainly a design flaw.
If you're 100% sure, that you need it, you can do that using jQuery and onclick event. It`s not possible to do it without javascript. Other option would be to send it using form with hidden fields with single submit button visible - that would even work without javascript.
Normal hyperlinks in HTML are sent with GET requests and are not supposed to change the state of the resource being accessed. This is known as being idempotent. You can repeat the request over and over, and the result of each succeeding request to the same URL is the same as the first one.
POST requests don't have this restriction and are intended for when the user needs to change something (such as creating a new resource.)
It's not possible to send a POST request via a normal HTML link. And even if you find a way, it breaks an almost universal expectation that web users have. What are you trying to accomplish? Maybe there's a better way.
But to answer your question, you could use something like jQuery to capture the "click" event and make it do a POST request:
$('.my-link').click(function() {
var url = $(this).attr('href');
var data = {};
$.post(url, data, function() {
window.alert('success!');
});
return false;
});
If your URL has any query parameters, i.e. "?foo=bar&baz=bum", then you'd probably need to strip them off of the URL and pass them as a second parameter to the $.post() function. This is left as an exercise for the reader. ;-)

Codeigniter Facebook app POST method AND query_string

I have a toy facebook app I'm playing with so I can understand how it all works. It's fine if you go the the app like this: http://apps.facebook.com/pushup-challenge/ (and connect it). But if you then go to it from your facebook page, FB uses the URL http://apps.facebook.com/pushup-challenge/?ref=bookmarks.
In my log file, I see that FB is POSTing the data and including the /?ref=bookmarks to it's call to my codeigniter system. This is causing it to either say "invalid URI parameters" or give me a 404, depending on if I've edited the system/core/URI.php file to add rawurlencode() to a particular call.
I've tried using mod_rewrite to get rid of the query_string, too, but since it's POSTing, it doesn't appear to be working (though I'm not exactly sure why).
Has anyone else run into this? How did you fix it?
Thanks in advance,
Hans
try $config['uri_protocol'] = “PATH_INFO”; and set enable_query_strings = TRUE
or
set
$config['permitted_uri_chars'] = 'a-z 0-9~%.:_\-?=';
in config.php
Because it isn't calling your file by name (just ?ref=bookmarks) the server runs thru the standard default files: index.htm, index.html, index.asp. Because you need to accept a POST, you need a server that allows POSTs to htm & html if you choose to use those. Index.asp will accept POSTs on most servers, and that works for me.
SOLUTION: Add a file (index.asp), that calls the real app that you named in the App settings.
