I understand that NGWebdriver is the Java wrapper of Protractor. Protractor is supported by SauceLabs. I was wondering if you had any experience with Ngwebdriver and Sauce Labs.
Just got an answer:
"HI!
To best of my knowledge, I don't believe we support the NGWebdriver tool.
If you like to see this type of functionality added to our platform, I would highly recommend that you submit a ticket in our Customer Idea Portal(https://saucelabs.ideas.aha.io/) requesting this feature, where our Product team directly reviews input from all of our customers as we strive to improve the Sauce Labs experience. Rest assured, our Product team definitely takes input from our customers very seriously and we try to implement as many features as we can from our customers with the limited amount resources our developers can provide in a timely basis."

summer break is coming up soon and I want to work on a couple of personal projects to practice my coding skills and learn/experiment with new tools and frameworks.
I am planning on working on a personal stock exchange database/website for my first project where I'll store and keep track of stocks and whatever information I want (whether custom or retrieved through APIs) accessible online. I don't know React but I am familiar with the rest of the MERN stack.
My question is what tools/software/(anything else that you think is cool or current) can I use to make it as close to a real-life company software as I can? My goal is to be able to showcase my experience later on when I graduate college and also to have fun with something new.
Edit: An example of something extra I'm looking for could be a service that allows me to collect user data on my website to see how popular it is (I can add functionality to allow people to create accounts for their own profile)
Bonus: If you have any good tutorials or sources that you can recommend me to learn what you would suggest, that would be awesome!
I use "MongoDB Compass" for checking db, "Postman" for testing API, VS code with React Snippets and linters(probably other editors also have something similar) for coding and "react developer tools" chrome extension.
Regarding your project, I highly advice you to use socket.io for real time communication.
I also suggest Asana for project management.
These are the tools I use daily and they are widely used in the industry.
While I found quite some interesting suggestions on this site (the typical WP vs. Joomla) I just couldn't find an answer that could help me get started.
I know this is close to some of the other CMS questions but I'm missing specificities that need answering.
I'm looking for a CMS that can provide me with the following key functionalities, either through minimal programming or additional plugin installations. I'm stating this because it won't be just me, who can program, but also other trainers who are not technically inclined that will handle the site (in the future).
The functionalities I'm looking for:
Schedule management of training
Trainees of the club must check-in before or after the training to proof attendance, thus site must be mobile friendly. This is more proof-of-concept since not everyone has/wants a smartphone.
Each trainee has his own profile that logs said attendance
Possibility to provide feedback on training. For example: give a thumbs up on the last training, give a "yellow card" if the trainee misbehaved, two/three/four and you're prohibited from training ones/twice/thrice.
The attendance allows the trainee to become eligible for the next exam
Schedule management of said exam
Yearly subscription reminders for the trainees and if under-aged required parent information
Management of trainee profiles and subscriptions
Is the above possible through a CMS or is it too specific and will I need to program this myself? Either is fine by me but I'd first like to find out if a CMS can offer this.
I've decided to Go for a custom solution using ReactJS.
There are very good open-source solutions for the admin part and the open/client part is fairly simple so React is perfect for what I want to achieve. Additionally, it also challenges to think differently since I never worked with ReactJS before.
With ReactJS I have a lot of freedom in how I implement the above scenarios while at the same time have a lot of support available online in cause of issues.
I am part of a growing software project with at least 200 active developer in 10 locations. I would like to set up an on-line chat forum for developers because I think it would help to coordinate efforts. We have an email mailing list but I feel like some questions or announcements are too informal to send to everyone while mentioning it in a chat forum might be a useful community resource.
I have never participated in a software project that used an on-line chat forum so I would like to hear about peoples experiences. I am particularly interested in technical issues: Use of IRC vs. alternative platforms; how to manage access, eg. for developers only, allowing users to participate; the value of requiring certain announcements to be made on the chat forum eg who is resolving broken builds etc.
If I pitch the idea to the community I would like to have some good arguments why it would be a good idea and some prospective of its usefulness in other software projects.
The features you MOST want for such informal discussions are:
persistance (I have't used IRC in >decade, does it persist chats that you missed?)
Searcheability
Classification (tagging) to help sort through the stuff.
Considering those 3, I'd strongly suggest some sort of discussion software (microblog, Wiki, forum) with RSS feed.
It's a great platform for informal discussions. It's flexible, users can self-organize and its extensible. We have tied CI build results and SCM commits. Further, given the availability of multiple consumption streams (web, terminal) anyone can join with little notice.
I think the previous poster is over-stating the importance of the contents of this conversation and who the heck wants to maintain discussion software? Blergh.
I recently moved south to Bangalore and I am working for a large software integrator mainly testing. My project team is working on web service project. We plan to use an open source software like soapUI now. Are you able to point me to online and offline resources/trainings that can help me and friends get up to speed with this technology.
All the help group members can provide in this regard is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Rajesh Ahuja
There are several online resources available for these technologies. Just google for it. I also suggest that you look up some of the quality indormation on www.soapui.org that cover it in detail.
Also recommend your attending Introduction to soapUI Training course on how to thoroughly test Web and REST services because it has a lot of hands-on lab work. When I spoke to Schnieder in Bangalore for Saltmarch BT Summit, he said the training covers how to use soapUI to test SOA, Web and REST services for scalability, performance and reliability.
Saltmarch also does an Advanced soapUI Pro training course. For training details check www.saltmarchi.com.
Good luck,
Dheeraj
What is the most typical structure of business where you want to develop several web services? Should one establish a company for each of them or keep under one? I would like to hear your experiences maintaining such situation, keeping in mind the global focus.
By far the two most critical sets of issues determining the answer to this question are legal and financial (including, but not mainly, accounting). So it's hard to see how this question fits with the intent of this site.
It is advised to provide more background information on the topic. Business plans for SaaS companies can range from large cloud computing service vendors (with integrated solutions) and up to business analytics providers targeting specific market niche.
Business is a bit like programming: Keep It Simple (Stupid). Do not create multiple companies, unless there is a good reason to do it.
If You Planning to use python, you can use Django to build saas application,
this video Build SaaS application in Python django will explain about getting started with Sass.
