Attendance reader with iBeacon/eddystone and raspberry - raspberry-pi

I'm a bit confused. I explain to you my project, I would like to make a "reader" by using beacon technology (ibeacon for apple, eddystone for android) using a raspberry pi 3. The smatphone application sends an acknowledgment code when passing the person. The raspberry marks and updates an online database. I wanted to ask, first of all can this be done? My problem is to realize the beacon transmission, then for the app and the database I have no problems. I tried using bluez but I can not detect the phone. Is there any online tutorial that could help me? Thanks

If you are looking to use the phone to emit a beacon transmission and then use the Raspberry Pi 3 to detect the beacon, then yes, this is possible. I put together a tutorial on how to use the Android Things to detect beacons on the Raspberry Pi 3.
The problem with using BlueZ for beacon detection is that it is simply not stable on the Raspberry Pi, and will freeze up and stop detecting requiring a reboot.

Use Raspberry Pi like GoPro, Live Videostream over WiFi direct connection between Pi and Android

In the last weeks I experimented with my Raspberry Pi B and with the PiCamera. I had the idea to establish a connection between the RasPi and an Android device or (if it is easier) to a windows notebook without an access point in between, just like the GoPro camera and its App. I would like to have a live stream from the PiCamera to the other device and the possibility to start/stop recording a video or simply take a picture.
The app itself is not my problem, I wrote some simple apps before. But I didn't yet find a tutorial or description how to set up the communication and the stream.
I bought a WiFi dongle (Fritz!WLAN Stick N - by AVM) that supports WiFi direct and my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5 mini) does as well.
My first question is how to set up this stick on Raspbian - yet it is not recognises as a wifi dongle, and the second is how to achieve what I descriebed above.
Could anyone please describe what I can do?
Thanks in advance!
PS: I prefer a description for bash because I use SSH

Raspberry-pi as connectable beacon

I want to build some kind of two-way bluetooth connection on Raspberry-pi which actually works as beacon. Based on RadiusNetworks tutorial (How to Make an iBeacon Out of a Raspberry Pi http://developer.radiusnetworks.com/2013/10/09/how-to-make-an-ibeacon-out-of-a-raspberry-pi.html) I've built beacon on my Raspberry-pi, but it's working in "advertise and not-connectable" mode (which is connected with problem described here: Raspberry Pi iBeacon connection timing out).
What I want to achieve is beacon device, which works in advertise mode and also allows to receive some events from other device (i.e. iPhone). When iPhone discovers Raspberry-pi beacon I want it to send some data to Raspberry-pi to trigger some action. I know that in the simplest way my iPhone should send data via network to raspberry while it enters to the beacon region, but unfortunatelly my solution has to work in offline mode, so I'm looking for some kind of direct (and possibly fast) connection. I think that PayPal beacon is a good example of my needs (as it is decribed here: https://devblog.paypal.com/how-does-paypal-beacon-work/ their device works as gate for communication user smartphone with PayPal services).
I'm complete beginner in BLE topics, so I would be grateful for any hints where I can start exploration or how to properly ask Google for any good answers in this topic.
For complex interaction, you need to learn how to build a connectable Bluetooth service with BlueZ, which is the Linux open source Bluetooth stack. Once you have this service, you can write iOS code using CoreBluetooth to connect to this service when the beacon is nearby.
Unfortunately, I do not know of a good tutorial for building services on BlueZ. The BlueZ code is open source at least, so the code is a good place to start looking:

Get AVRCP and BlueZ to work for controlling phone

not sure if I got everything right so please be a bit patient with me ;-)
I setup my RPi with BlueZ + pulse (on Rasbian) audio working as A2DP receiver and it works like charm with my iPhone and iPad. For my project I would like to implement AVRCP to control the audio player over bluetooth.
In the current stable version or Raspian BlueZ is implemented in version 4.99, the last v4 version is 4.101 and BlueZ 5 is already out.
Did anybody get AVRCP to work and control at least the major functions play/pause, prev and next? I would be so happy to implement that as well!
Cheers!
how far have you been going on this task?
am doing almost the same,(PandaBoard-ES + iPhone) and am using Bluez4.98-2ubuntu7.
so far you can get the port of the iPhone responsible for the AV remote Control, create a L2CAP socket and connect your RPi to the device at this port.
until this point you should be able to transfer the music via bluetooth(somehow weird because for this should be used a A2DProfile), any chance, this is working on your Rpi???
Cheers!

Broadcast message on Ibeacon Raspberry Pi

I have set up Ibeacon raspberry pi
it is detecting bluetooths
root#raspberrypi:~# hcitool scan
Scanning ...
90:C1:15:34:84:77 jassi
30:14:4A:8B:95:45 TVBluetooth
Now I want it to broadcast messages
How can I do that
You can make an iBeacon out of a Raspberry Pi using this tutorial. My company also sells all the parts you need as iBeacon Development Kits that have this pre-assembled with the necessary software. If you want, we can also send you just the SD card so you can use the Raspberry Pi you already have.
If you want a utility to do more advanced iBeacon detection on the Raspberry Pi, check out this answer. We are still working out some of the kinks, but we will eventually release it with the iBeacon Development Kit as well.

Using iPhone serial connection (pins 12 and 13)

Ok, so I've never done anything with serial connections before. But...
I just got an Arduino that I am trying to use to remotely launch model rockets. I have a 5 volt relay that I can control with the Arduino's digital out.
Now, I want connect my iPhone's Tx to the Arduino's Rx and vice-versa. I would buy the iPhone breakout board from spark fun so I could connect it to the Arduino. (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10645) I was thinking something along the lines of: when the phone gets a text or a call from a certain number, or maybe even just a bluetooth signal, it would tell the Arduino. But those are just ideas.
How can I actually send a signal from my iPhone? Are there xCode libraries to do this? My phone is jailbroken, so I am open to other non-apple ways for sending signals. But I am a novice programmer.
Thank you.
P.S. I'm new to Stack Overflow, and I would appreciate if you could help me. The first time I posted a question someone told me it wasn't on the right site. So please bear with me.
EDIT #1: Haha, I just read over this and it sounds like a cell phone bomb from a terrorist movie. I swear that's not what I'm doing. Just look at my avatar.
EDIT #2: I also have a Bluetooth dongle for the Arduino. But I honestly have no idea how to interface that with anything, it was $10 from China, so I thought I would buy it to keep my options open. But, regardless, it would be really cool to plug an iPhone into an Arduino.
You could buy a Redpark Serial Cable for iOS to connect the iPhone to your Arduino board over RS-232.
This book also seems to be helpful: iOS Sensor Apps with Arduino
EDIT:
Redpark FAQ: http://redpark.com/c2db9_FAQs.html
There is a SDK available for this serial cable.
You will have trouble writing communication software when trying to connect directly to the dock connector! The External Accessory Framework wont help you here unless your Arduino board has a special decoding chip for dock connector communication.
Have fun!
All I think you need to do is utilize the External Accessory framework. I'm not sure how well it will work for you, the library is meant to communicate with MFi approved accessories. I'd really like to hear how your results went, I am going to be conducting an experiment of my own using a break out board
I am in a similar boat as you, and I have successfully built my own serial cable using the podbreakout, and have implemented a serial class that supports reading / writing. I can confirm that I have read working, as I have tested it with my RFID reader. I am in the process of writing code that will send a command to the Arduino from the iPhone, and then have the Arduino perform a task based on the command.
Here is a document I put together on iDevice serial com,
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Yi9_hcw8XSyYNCG2OJT9oHlTG-dC-Dnuc58VIULa81Q/edit?usp=sharing
and the serial class can be seen in the project I am working on.
