We have an online pizza ordering system.
Now the client wants to integrate it in facebook.
The idea is everyone who is browsing facebook to be able to click on our App and order directly instead of going to our domain.
I can see that there are similar apps in the facebook search:
for example Flippin' Pizza Ordering : https://apps.facebook.com/flippinpizzafb/
Its exactly what we need.
The problem is that when I login the facebook dev platform.
When I click create a new app the only possible way to open our website in iframe (in facebook app) is if I choose it as Facebook web games.
Is this what I need or it's something different?
Haven't followed facebook dev stuff for a long time.. and every time when I log in there everything is changed..

I’m trying to set up and link the facebook sdk in some existing mobile apps to an existing fan page. I’m an admin for the fan page, so I have access to https://www.facebook.com/analytics/page_a_id/ for that page. I want to be able to track ad clicks —> app installs. I got a new app working with the sdk setting it up through https://developers.facebook.com/apps/app_b_id/dashboard/. But I want it to be linked to the first page, not a new app. How can I create an app and link it to that already existing fan page? I have followed the instructions from this answer (https://stackoverflow.com/a/13904144/419194), and I was able to successfully see the page I want to connect on https://developers.facebook.com/apps/app_b_id/settings/advanced/ . However, events from the facebook sdk on Android still are reported in the analytics page for page_a_id. Why is this? Is there anything else I have to do? Or am I just misunderstanding how this all works entirely?
And just to keep me sane, this is the correct process, right? I only want to be able to feed the sdk into the analytics. I feel like many other people must have done this, but there seems to be a lot of confusion from various SO/FB help posts.
Is it possible to submit my 3D WebGL HTML5 / Facebook Canvas app to the App Center, even though it does not use the Facebook API? It isn't integrated with Facebook in any way, other than, being embedded in..
https://apps.facebook.com/flappy-wheels/
..from a Dropbox-hosted URL, if that even counts as a technical "Facebook integration" - which I doubt, as no API usage or Facebook signup or login required to even play it.
I keep on trying to submit it for App Center review but it insists to think I'm using the FB API when I'm not. Does this mean usage of the FB API is absolutely required for App Center submission? What if I dont want my app logging in to people's Facebook accounts? What if I don't want it accessing their personal information, or posting for them, or any of that jank? What if I just want it to be a game to simply be played embedded in a FB app URL, with no actual FB integration or interaction? Can that not be put on the App Center?
It thinks I need 3 permissions, one of which is logging in to people's accounts, I think these 3 permissions are put there in settings by default, how do I removed those permissions from my app settings, as those permissions listed aren't being used in my game, as it isn't using any FB permissions?
A smaller question on the side, what is the "tagline"? Like, it is the keywords / searchable tags, right? I'm used to them being called just "tags" and not a "tagline" so just to be sure I know what it is.
Thank you so much for any help or suggestions!
Yes you can always submit the html5 game on facebook canvas but for App Centre listing its necessary. Also using dropbox, github hosted sited will have less server resources allocted to them and hence high load time - i recommend to use any other hosting services out their, but remember https is a must.
Tagline is like a punch line for any product just go on the same theme.
I am trying to enable deep linking from custom open graph stories. I have gone through the instructions listed
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/ios/app-links
Deep linking works fine when I click from the Facebook timeline to the actual story post page and then click the object button. If I click the object button on the timeline itself, the url is NOT handled and instead is open directly in the Facebook webview.
This may be because I don't have a web platform added on my App Dashboard.
Facebook documentation reads
Deep linking in Open Graph stories If you're deep linking from an Open
Graph story published from your app, you will need to go through one
more step.
...
If you HAVEN'T already added a website for this app, in the App
Dashboard, inside your app's settings, click on ''Add platform'', and
select ''Website''. Then in any of the fields (either ''Site URL'' or
''Mobile site URL''), fill in your subdomain. It doesn't matter if you
don't have a website that you're integrating with Facebook, this will
register this subdomain for use with your native app.
However, when I try to add a the url in app settings (the screenshots match those in the documentation), my open graph submission is rejected by Facebook with the note:
Your app does not qualify for the submitted platform. In the app
settings tab, please remove platforms without Facebook integration.
Canvas or page tab apps cannot redirect users, and websites must
properly integrate Facebook login.
Anybody been through this before and can lend some guidance? I am very much confused by the documentation.
The deep-linking started working on its own about a week later without any changes on my part.
I am trying to get Facebook features (like button, and login capabilities) on my website but I am having a tough time figuring out how to do it. I have a Facebook page for my website too, I do not have an app, but from what I've seen I'm supposed to create this App profile through Facebook in order to access all of these features. I am simply confused. I have a website, I have a Facebook page for that website, now I want to link the two. Again, I do not have an app for the site, yet, as it is in its early development stages. Please help me figure out what I must do to link my website to Facebook capabilities
Just "create an application" for the website. I think what you are most confused about is actually building an app.
"Create an application" provides a reference for your application to reside. All Facebook plugins currently must be processed through the JS SDK which needs an application (reference) to make requests. You will see the benefits of doing this when using facebook.com/insights
Also your Facebook fan page has nothing to do with your website, think of it separately, it will cause less confusion. There is no way to link them.
Summary: Just click the "Create app" button, set the domain to your website domain and supply the application id to the JS SDK.
Have you checked out their site? https://developers.facebook.com/
All you need to do after registering with Facebook as a developer, you should have a control panel. After that you should have a dev key, so when you make an API call to Facebook that you can authentic yourself as a registered developer. You do need to enter the javascript file in the head section so that when you call the Facebook API your Javascript code knows to reference the calls.
When to use which? They look the same when I click on either from their directory other than being named differently.
Applications have pages to describe them, make fans (the act of liking the application) these pages are just profiles to the application.
Applications also can have canvas pages, these aren't actually facebook pages...these are the landing pages for your application hosted on your server. Mainly you'll be asked to install the application (game) before accessing it.
Applications can be added to pages and users.
A page is a simple thing that displays information about something.
An app is something that can be installed and is more complicated and can run code as per the Facebook API.
Applications are things like games and quizzes.
Pages are for the "fans" of businesses, musicians, actors, etc.
All the information about apps: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/canvas/
Facebook Page is a like an open group. It can to used to form a group for public figure or to form some open group like "StackOverflow lovers" etc, where you a creator acts as a admin, and there are discussion boards(to discuss an issue), events(to organize an event), notes(to create some document for page), photos (to create album).
And regarding Facebook App have two things Profile page and Application page, it is a Profile page of the Facebook App which looks similar to Facebook page which gives you information about the App. Well, if you want to go to Application page Click on "Go to App".
