Atlassian Connect Addon for Autocomplete Field - autocomplete

I was wondering if its possible to CHANGE text field to act like autocomplete using the Atlassian connect addons?(im using JIRA Cloud). I mean IS it possible to be done with addon written on Javascript or Node JS?

No, Cloud add-ons are sandboxed and the access they get to the underlying JIRA instance is very tightly regulated. You cannot modify the UI in any way.

How to read SAP Cloud Platform User-Provided Variables from a SAPUI5 app?

I was looking for a way to read the User-Provided Variables using JavaScript from a SAPUI5 app.
I've seen examples for node.js and Java, but those don't apply to a SAPUI5 app.
The node.js "version" requires a #sap/xsenv package that unfortunately I don't seem to be able to include in my app.
I'd like to read those variables from a SAPUI5 controller.
Has anyone done that before?
You need to write an action on your backend application.
And this action needs to read environment variables from directly app or via using CF API and must return that to you as response.
You should not read directly anything using CF credentials in a frontend application.

Try to use variants and table personalisation on SAPUI5 SmartTable

I want to use the variants to customise different filter and table variants on a SAP Fiori application, that use SAP Hana Cloud and Java backend.
As a background info:
I'm using a smartTable that is connected to the smartFilter by filterId property. On the table/filter I am able to access directly the data from the metadata by filing the entitySet / entityType property. I am using a real server not a mock server. In the table the properties regarding the personalization and variants are enabled (useTablePersonalisation="true", useVariantManagement="true"). I see that I have to specify the persistencyKey so that variants can display on the UI, but i don't know what value should i complete it with.
I read that smartTable and smartFilter are using SmartVariantManagement(a custom control of VarinatManagement) to accessed directly (without user interaction) SAPUI5 Flexibility Services regarding personalization data and management of the variant. But on SAP Help it says that:
Flexibility services are currently not available in SAP Hana Cloud Platform.
The services run on the ABAP front-end server and NetWeaver 7.31 SP11 or higher

It is possible to use the variants and personalization?
How can I do it regardind my application specification?
Does anyone have an example application?
Thank you !
You can use them both at the same time.
For me the useTablePersonalisation="true" is working without any other changes. Rearding the useVariantManagement="true", I use showVariantManagement="true" also, and as you said persistencyKey="SmartFilter_Explored" is also needed to see Variant Management icon.
This is an example: https://sapui5.hana.ondemand.com/explored.html#/sample/sap.ui.comp.sample.smarttable/preview
For me I can not test the variant management functionality when running the app from webide as it is needed an existing user for you. So I can test it only, when running it on launchpad.
PersistencyKey identifies the storage area and saves/retrieves the variants currently used.
This page helps you with persistency key (under Page Variant section):

I hope it helped.

Where to store the downloadable files of the website hosted in Google Compute Engine?

I have design a website where user can upload images and videos. Is it possible the use google cloud storage with compute engine.
Yes, it is possible to use any of google cloud component with each other.
This must be done while creating your instance you need to select the other google component which you want to use with the instance.
In Console while creating new instance, more options you will see
ACCESS Security---Project access and then select which component you want to use with an instance and assign the permission level.
Same will be also possible with gcloud compute while creating instance
I hope this will be helpful.

Using Amazon's affiliate API for autocompletion

On a website I'm building a search for Amazon products. This should display some information on the products I can pick up using their affiliate API. I can look up information on the products using this dependency (which I'm not entirely happy about, because I should probably create my own package from their provided WSDL), but I'm not entirely sure what would be the best way to implement an autocomplete in a searchbox for their products.
I want to load the autocomplete information from my own server rather than one of Amazon's, but I am not certain what the recommended way to do this would be. Through the provided Amazon affiliate API or is there a better way?
As a summary, I am looking for a way where I have a textbox with autocompletion on my website, that uses my own server to do the autocompletion (example.com/search/autocomplete/%QUERY%), which should then call some autocompletion functionality on the Amazon API.
Amazon offers -next to their affiliate API- a webservice which can be used to get their autocomplete information. It can be utilized by calling an URL in the style of:
http://completion.amazon.com/search/complete?search-alias=aps&client=amazon-search-ui&mkt=1&q=canon
Where the contents of q is the query that you want autocompleted.
I created a vanilla JavaScript plugin to integrate the Amazon Autocomplete webservice into a search input.
Fortunately, the Amazon webservice is JSONP enabled so it let you handle the requests via <script> tags and callbacks, which is already implemented in the plugin.

implementing autocomplete in my website

i am developing a website where i intend to provide the search feature. I am developing it in PHP/MYSQL and i have written the script to perform the search. I wish to provide autocomplete or suggested searches option in the search box as the user types, can i know what are my choices and how can i make use of them?
I had tried YUI Autocomplete, it looks good to me, however i do not understand when it says using a local proxy for the datasource. Can any one help me out here?
Consider trying the Scriptaculous autocomplete. It's very easy to implement.
what does it exactly say on the documentation? (can you provide a link)
by local proxy I would think it means a proxy to a remote web service or API on another domain. (you can't make requests unless scripts are executed on the same domain). http://developer.yahoo.com/javascript/howto-proxy.html
I used jQuery autocompletex
