View all comments in GitHub - github

When searching for some text in a GitHub issue with lots of comments, I first need to have all the comments loaded.
Currently I search for the text items not shown, and then click the View more link.
I sometimes need to do this multiple times.
Is there a way to load all comments in one go?

This also annoyed me, I wrote the following userscript to solve it (as of Dec 2021).
// ==UserScript==
// #name Show all comments on github issue
// #namespace https://www.taylrr.co.uk
// #version 0.1
// #description Automatically clicks the "xxx hidden items" button on Github issue pages to successively load in all the comments in the page on load.
// #author taylor8294
// #match https://github.com/*/issues/*
// #icon https://icons.duckduckgo.com/ip2/github.com.ico
// #grant none
// #license GPLv3
// ==/UserScript==
(function() {
'use strict';
function ready(fn) {
if (document.attachEvent ? document.readyState === "complete" : document.readyState !== "loading"){
fn();
} else {
document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', fn);
}
}
function clickButton(){
let button = document.querySelector('.ajax-pagination-form button');
if(button){
if(!button.disabled) button.click();
setTimeout(clickButton,50);
} else console.log('All comments are now showing.')
}
ready(()=>{setTimeout(clickButton,2000)});
})();
Install it in your userscript manager of choice (eg Greasemonkey, Tampermonkey, Violentmonkey, Userscripts Safari etc) and once the page is loaded it will just keep clicking the button for you until all the comments are showing. I've also published the script on Greasyfork (#437823) if you prefer to install from there.

Squarespace + PayPal - custom form with fee added issue with displaying total

I'm helping with a Squarespace site and it has a custom form added in code on a particular page. The form collects the payer's info, then can enter any amount in the "Total to charge" field, then it is supposed to display the 2.7% fee. However, I can ONLY get the fee to display if I refresh the page (chrome, safari, either one). Click here to see the page...let me know
here is a snippet of code:
<script>
$(document).ready(function () {
var $amount = $('input[name="amount_1"]');
var $fee = $("#fee");
var $total = $("#total");
var $amount_2 = $("input[name='amount_2']");
var processing_fee = .027;
var isCurrency = function (inval) {
var regex = /^[1-9]\d*(((,\d{3}){1})?(\.\d{0,2})?)$/;
if (regex.test(inval)) {
return true;
}
return false;
};
$amount.on('input propertychange', function () {
if (isCurrency($amount.val())) {
var fee = ($amount.val() * processing_fee).toFixed(2);
var total = (Number(fee) + Number($amount.val())).toFixed(2);
$fee.text('$' + fee);
$amount_2.val(fee);
$total.text('$' + total);
}
});
$amount.on('blur', function () {
$amount.val($amount.val().replace("$", ""));
$amount.val(Number($amount.val()).toFixed(2));
if (!isCurrency($amount.val())) {
$amount.val("");
}
});
$("#paymentform").validate({
submitHandler: function (form) {
form.submit();
}
});
});
</script>
When a custom script only runs on page refresh, the cause is likely to be Squarespace's AJAX loading:
Occasionally, Ajax may conflict with embedded custom code or anchor
links. Ajax can also interfere with site analytics, logging hits on
the first page only.
Disabling AJAX is often a simple solution:
You can disable Ajax in the Style Editor, with some exceptions:
Ajax can't be disabled in Skye, Foundry, or Tudor.
Ajax can't be disabled on the blog landing page for Farro and Haute. If you uncheck Enable Ajax Loading in these templates, they
will still use Ajax to load the Blog Page.
To enable or disable Ajax:
In the Home Menu, click Design, and then click Style Editor.
Scroll down to Site: Loading.
Check or uncheck Enable Ajax Loading.
If you do not want to disable AJAX, then see "Option 2" here for how to write your code so that it will work on initial page load and on AJAX page loads.

On-demand popup in a Crossrider extension

I am looking for a way to display an on-demand pop in a Crossrider extension, in the same fassion as the Javascript 'confirm' dialog. I have an HTML page in the resources and I would like to use it in a popup, which will be displayed whenever a certain message is dispatched. I realize there is functionality to display popups in Crossrider (appAPI.browserAction.setPopup), however I would like to display a custom popup on-demand, instead of a simple JS 'confirm' dialog. Is there a way of doing that? Thank you.
You can use a combination of appAPI.browserAction.setPopup and appAPI.browserAction.clearPopup to control the popup. In the following example, the extension scope code determines which popup is required based on the page visited and sets it accordingly:
extension.js:
appAPI.ready(function($) {
if (appAPI.isMatchPages("*google", "*msn")) {
// Send message to background to set the popup based on the page url
appAPI.message.toBackground({
request: 'set-popup',
popup: (location.hostname.indexOf('google') !== -1)
? 'google.html'
: 'msn.html'
});
} else {
// Send message to background to clear the popup for other pages
appAPI.message.toBackground({
request: 'clear-popup'
});
}
});
background.js:
appAPI.ready(function($) {
appAPI.browserAction.setResourceIcon('icon.jpg');
appAPI.message.addListener(function(msg) {
switch(msg.request) {
case 'set-popup':
// When setting the page, first clear the existing popup
appAPI.browserAction.clearPopup();
// then set the new popup
appAPI.browserAction.setPopup({
resourcePath: msg.popup,
width: 300,
height: 200
});
break;
case 'clear-popup':
appAPI.browserAction.clearPopup();
break;
}
});
});

Winjs Application on Activated event

I have 2 pages - an authentication page and a content page.
After authentification is successful, I save this data: Winjs.Application.SessioState.mydata.
At the start (on launching) of the application, I want to detect if this data is not null so I can directly move to the content page. If it is null, I want to render the Authentication page.
Please help me, I don't know where to put the portion of code(in default.html or default.js).
BUT in my default.html I have this line:
<div id="contentHost" data-win-control="MyApp.PageControlNavigator"
data-win-options="{home: '/pages/home/home.html'}"></div>
(run the content page directly)
update this block of code in default.js in 'activated' event handler.
args.setPromise(WinJS.UI.processAll().then(function ()
{
if (nav.location)
{
nav.history.current.initialPlaceholder = true;
return nav.navigate(nav.location, nav.state);
} else if (!!app.sessioState.mydata)
{
nav.navigate('/pages/authpage/authpage.html', optionsIfAny);
}
else
{
return nav.navigate(Application.navigator.home);
}
}));

Staying on same page using Modal, Form Validation and Constant Contact Form Generator

I am a jQuery newbie and ma trying to use a modal to reveal a constant contact simple form generated by the form generator. I have applied jQuery.validate(), and the validation is working, but I don't know how to submit the form. If there is an action="signup/index.php" in the tag, i land on a new page.
The generated form uses action='signup/index.php' and this file calls for a new page location see file in Github. I commented those last lines out, but still am failing to make the form submit. I cannot see the new email in the Constant Contact email list.
This is my sumbmit handler
submitHandler: function() {
$('#signup').click(function(e) {
$.post('signup/index.php', $().serialize(), function(data) {
$('#output-div').html(data);
});
$('#form-message').fadeIn(300, function() {
$('#form-message').html('<p>Thank you for joining our list. Great offers coming soon.</p>')
});
$('#myModal').delay(1500).trigger('reveal:close');
});
}
solved it.
I had commented out the last several lines of the signup/index.php, including this line
if($postFields['request_type'] == 'ajax'){ $postFields["success_url"]=''; $postFields["failure_url"]=''; }
For some reason, that line is needed for form submittal success. Everything after that line is commented out, from
if ($return_code==201) {
to
</ol>
</p>'; }
}
and my jQuery is handling messages, errors and completion as such
submitHandler: function() {
$.post('/dev/rest/ccphp/signup/index.php', $("#ccsfg").serialize(), function(data) {
$('#results').html(data);
}).success(function() {
$('#ccsfg').html('<h4>Thank you for joining our list. Great offers coming soon.</h4>');
})
.error(function() {
$('#ccsfg').html('<h4>Oops! There was an error. Please try again. </h4>');
})
.complete(function() {
$('#myModal').delay(1500).trigger('reveal:close');
});
}

Select a single 'featured' post in Tumblr?

I would like my Tumblr homepage to show a single Question/Answer post that is selected by a 'featured' tag, or rather by being the most recent Question/Answer post tagged 'featured'. I don't see any built in Tumblr tags that will do this.
I am using jQuery to get the featured post (n number of them) from a category 'featured' by default. I have implemented this solution to my theme - Purely
Here is a screen-shot (displaying three featured posts)
Add this line 's meta section
<meta name='text:Featured Tag' content='featured' />
Add jQuery library in
<script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.0.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
Add these lines in where you want to display the featured post
{block:IndexPage}
{block:IfFeaturedTag}
<h1 class="featured-subhead">
Featured Posts +
</h1>
{/block:IfFeaturedTag}
{/block:IndexPage}
Add these lines just before the closing tag
{block:IndexPage}{block:IfFeaturedTag}
<script>
var rssurl = '/tagged/{text:Featured Tag}/rss';
$.get(rssurl, function(data) {
$('.featured-subhead').append('<div class="featured-posts">');
var $xml = $(data);
var vari = 0;
$xml.find("item").each(function() {
var $this = $(this),
item = {
title: $this.find("title").text(),
link: $this.find("link").text(),
description: $this.find("description").text(),
pubDate: $this.find("pubDate").text(),
author: $this.find("author").text()
}
vari = vari +1;
if(vari <4){
$('.featured-subhead').append('<div class="featured-post" style="overflow:hidden;"><h2 class="featured-title">' + item.title + '</h2><div class="featured-post-description' + vari + '">' + item.description + '</div><div class="featured-post-link">Read More</div></div>');
//Do something with item here...
}
});
$('.featured-subhead').append('</div>');
});
{/block:IndexPage}{/block:IfFeaturedTag}
You can change if(vari <4){ line according to the numbers of posts you want to display as featured. For example, to display a single post, it would be if(vari <2){ .
I have also added few CSS classes to design the output. This can be declared in segment in
h1.featured-subhead
{
/* Heading of featured post */
}
.featured-posts
{
/* Outer box of all featured posts */
}
.featured-post
{
/* Inner box of each featured post */
}
h2.featured-title
{
/* Heading of each featured post */
}
.featured-post-description
{
/* Description or body of each featured post */
}
.featured-post-link
{
/* Link to Permalink page of each featured post */
}
Here only featured-subhead class is necessary. This must be added to the heading of featured post. jQuery will add the featured posts after that.
How does it work?
No surprises here. Tumblr generates a tag RSS page for each page. By using javascript, I am fetching that specific tag page and displaying 'n' number of elements from the XML elements. Sometimes, Tumblr takes a little more time (I don't know why) to generate the RSS page of newly added tags. Be patient and try to browse your-blog.tumblr.com/tagged/featured/rss page to check it is generated or not.
What you're asking is not a native setting to tumblr, in other words there's no preference setting you can simply check.
In order to do what you describes above, you will either need to edit your current theme code, or code a new theme from scratch.
In order to only show 1 question post, at the top, with a tag of featured, you will need to work with the jQuery/Javascript and the Tumblr API.
It's pretty complex coding, but if you're up for it, head on over to the Tumblr API Codex.
This is a little late, but in case it's of any help: Our free Single A theme has the sticky post feature built in. It's the first (and only) tumblr theme to have it. You can get it here: http://www.tumblr.com/theme/28638 or learn more about it here: http://singleatheme.tumblr.com/. Hope this helps!
