railstutorial.org gems/notiffany-0.1.1/lib/notiffany/notifier/tmux/client.rb:12:in `version': undefined method - railstutorial.org

I'm following the Ruby on Rails tutorial at RailsTutorial.org and am on section 3.3.1 (/book/static_pages#cha-static_pages) for running 'rails test' for the first time. I'm using the Cloud9 IDE per the recommendation and as far as I can tell I have followed the script exactly. Everything has matched up to this point.
I have also done some searches on the error and come up with comments about something called tmux but I'm not sufficiently experienced enough in Ruby on Rails or Cloud9 to be sure of what I'm doing. Someone also recommended doing 'bundle exec rake test' as an alternative but I get the same error:
2 runs, 2 assertions, 0 failures, 0 errors, 0 skips

I don't see anything called notiffany in the Gemfile, but I've found it's related to Guard. Since I'm using the specific version indicated by the tutorial, I'm not sure if looking for a newer version there is the fix.
It is possible I'm just not searching for the right keywords, so I apologize if this has been answered before. Any help is appreciated.

Try this:
sudo yum install -y tmux
As suggested on this Japanese site.

Avahi fails in buildroot running intltool-update

I'm using an older buildroot 2016.11 and want to add DNS-SD by selecting the avahi package. Resulting in this error:
Unescaped left brace in regex is illegal here in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/^(.*)\${ <-- HERE ?([A-Z_]+)}?(.*)$/ at /home/user/nuvoton/nuc980/output/host/usr/bin/intltool-update line 1065.
checking for intltool >= 0.35.0... found
configure: error: Your intltool is too old. You need intltool 0.35.0 or later.
When searching I learned intltool should be enabed on the host, but I could not find how in menuconfig.
More searching told me it is related to some Perl update
I tried adding this patch http://lists.busybox.net/pipermail/buildroot/2017-June/194509.html but that also didn't help.
Can somebody steer me in the right direction how to solve this?
Using https://github.com/maximeh/buildroot/blob/master/package/intltool/0001-perl-5.26-compatibility.patch makes avahi build without problems.
In my case the build is getting too big, so I have to trim it down somehow...

openfoam ./makeParaview

i am currently building openfoam 1912 from source and have some trouble building paraview. I just build Qt and Cmake but as soon as i type ./makeParaview qt-5.9.9 5.6.3i get the following error:
./makeParaView: 64: local: -DWM_DP: bad variable name
./makeParaView: 64: ./makeParaView: -DOPENFOAM: bad variable name
A similar error occurs when i try to make VTK / Adios2. Any idea where i took the wrong turn?
Greetings

The proper solution is related to shell quoting issues
- flag="$(stripCompilerFlags $flag)"
+ flag="$(stripCompilerFlags "$flag")"
but in the meantime you can simply change the shebang to #!/bin/bash - it is more forgiving.
As discussed and resolved in these GitLab ticket-1 and ticket-2:
The issue seems to be Ubuntu related.
Solution:
Prior to execute ./makeParaview, switch to bash:
Change the first line of makeParaView script to #!/bin/bash
sudo dpkg-reconfigure dash
./makeParaView

DBIx::Class::ResultSet::count(): DBI Connection failed: DBD::Oracle at /usr/share/perl5/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 1249

I have installed DBIX::Class and DBD::Oracle modules. but getting error below
DBIx::Class::ResultSet::count(): DBI Connection failed: DBD::Oracle at
/usr/share/perl5/DBIx/Class/Storage/DBI.pm line 1249.
Could you please help me to get resolved
Above Error throws from the below line in my code
my $row = $schema->resultset( 'test' )->search ({cols1 => $arg2, cols2=>$arg1});
if($row->count == 1) //thorws error
Well, the error message mentions both DBD::Oracle and DBIx::Class, so it looks like you installed those correctly :-)
The important part of the error message is "DBI Connection failed", so I suggest you double-check all of the connection details.
Update: In a comment below, you share some code that you say works. If you have some code that works and some code that doesn't work, then you should probably compare the two pieces of code and work out what the differences are. We would be happy to help with that, but you haven't shown us the code that doesn't work.
I have found the solution. Oracle instant client installation steps few missed.
Mainly missed step: sudo sh -c "echo /opt/oracle/instantclient_18_3 > \
/etc/ld.so.conf.d/oracle-instantclient.conf"

Missing a lot of files in Perl kit

EDIT: Solution was "apt-get install libwww-per" from charlesbridge in the comments
EDIT: Attempted to install by both going into the cpan console and running install LWP::Simple as well as perl -MCPAN -e'install "LWP::Simple"' (from here).
The first time I ran CPAN I just let it configure itself with all the defaults. The below is not a description of the dependencies but all of the missing dependencies are included in this warning message, so I figure if I can solve that then I can solve the rest of it.
Original post:
I've been trying to install some missing Perl packages (namely LWP::Simple) but every time I do it spits back a trillion errors and ends with "Missing 17 dependencies". Most (if not all) are listed below at the very start of the install process. I've tried installing individual ones but I get similar dependency errors. Is there some way to fix this?

Foreman start fails on Windows following Heroku tutorial

I'm following the heroku tutorial for Heroku/Facebook integration (but I suspect this issue has nothing to do with facebook integration) and I got stuck on the stage where I was supposed to start foreman (I've installed the Heroku installbelt for windows, which includes foreman):
> foreman start
gives:

Since I'm a complete noob in this I'm not sure if my question here is a duplicate for Error on 'foreman start' while following the Python/Flask Heroku tutorial (because it's not quite the same error). If so, does anyone have a method for deploying a development environment on windows (for Heruko, Python, Facebook app)? Or should I use Ubuntu for this?
Thanks
Although this question doesn't seem to be of interest to anyone here (5 views in ~2 hours, 0 answers, 0 comments...), I have found the solution and ready to share it with anyone that will encounter it:
Install the latest ruby from rubyinstaller.org (1.9.3-p194) - Sometimes there is a collision installs of the same version, in my case I've just uninstalled all versions of ruby, but if you already have other application that needs older version then you have to be more careful
Check that your system is default to use this version by invoking ruby -v in command line prompt: and getting ruby 1.9.3p194 (2012-04-20) [i386-mingw32] (you may have to close and re-open cmd, to include the new environment variables)
Still in cmd, invoke:
gem install foreman
gem install taps
now go to your Procfile app (e.g. your heroku example app from the tutorial) and execute foreman start, you should see something like this:
18:23:52 web.1 | started with pid 7212
18:23:54 web.1 | * Running on http://0.0.0.0:5000/
18:23:54 web.1 | * Restarting with reloader
after manually adding the ruby path to my system PATH environment variable (Win 7), it still didn't work.
i had to change the default install path of Heroku from
C:\Program Files(x86)\Heroku
to
C:\Heroku
as it didn't properly handle the space in the path. I also tried C:\PROGRA~2\Heroku\ruby-1.9.2\bin to no avail. I imagine any space-less path will do.
