How to make Alfresco ADF work with Community Edition 5.2? - content-management-system

I simply installed Alfresco 5.2 Community edition and installed Alfresco ADF 2 demo shell application:
https://github.com/Alfresco/alfresco-ng2-components/tree/master/demo-shell
But after running npm install and npm start, I get the below error when I login:
Request has been terminated Possible causes: the network is offline, Origin is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin, the page is being unloaded, etc.
I follow various forum post to correct this CORS issue but none of them work. Even the instruction given in the readme of demo app related to CORS setting are incorrect as it refers to config/webpack.common.js which does even exist in the same demo app.
Is this because I am running Community Edition as it seems to suggest to run Enterprise edition? I want to build ADF on top of Community Edition.
I also tried against Alfresco 6.0 EA Community Edition but no luck.

Follow this documentation or stop alfresco server, download enablecors-1.0.jar file and place it under <alfresco-home>/modules/platform folder and start alfresco.

How to compile a project from github for composer but do not use composer repository?

I want to instal October CMS, installation guide is here: https://octobercms.com/docs/setup/installation
but I do not want use composer and install it from repository by composer.
I want download files from here: https://github.com/octobercms/october
and install/compile downloaded files on my local server.
October is no longer free and open source (see https://octobercms.com/blog/post/october-cms-moves-become-paid-platform), and as a part of their v2 they no longer support hosts without composer support or exec() access. The best you could do with October is purchase a license, use composer locally; and then just transfer the files to your server directly, but you won't be able to use the backend to install or update the core, plugins, or themes from the marketplace.
The good news is that the core maintainers have forked the project and are continuing the original project as Winter CMS (see https://github.com/wintercms/winter/issues/5; disclaimer, I'm one of them); and Winter CMS will continue to supports hosts without composer or exec() access.
Winter CMS is currently only available to install through composer, but it does support installing and updating plugins via the backend without composer. We're currently hard at work at getting our marketplace up and running, as well as our web installer, but in the meantime it uses October's marketplace instead.

Eclipse eGit not connecting to remote repository - NullPointerException at ProxyHelper getPasswordAuthentication

I've been trying to get eGit working with Eclipse 4.6.3 (IBM Rational Developer 9.6.0.6) but keep hitting the same error when either trying to pull/push an existing Git repository or clone another using http.
Mostly the error specifics are hidden but if you examine the error in the Error Log view the following is observed:
It looks like the password authenticator is missing from the host eclipse or something similar.
I found the answer to this and am sharing the knowledge.
After investigating the supported software on IBM's website for Rational developer I saw that it claimed to be compatible with eGit version 4.5.0201609210915-r, alas the eclipse add new software links postfixed with -4.5 & -4.6 no longer functioned correctly however I was able to successfully install a compatible eGit (version 4.7.0.201704051617-r) with the following:

-edit-
Have just had success with the last of 4, version 4.11.0.201803080745r

WSO2 Developer studio AS 3.8.0 / Developer Studio EI 1.1.0 - Confused

Am using EI 6.1.1 for which using the Developer Studio EI 1.1.0.
I will be using AS 5.3.0 for which the Developer studio download points to Developer Studio AS 3.8.0.
Download links provide two zip files (as of 12-10-2017):
developer-studio-eclipse-jee-luna-win64-x86_64-3.8.0.zip
developer-studio-ei-eclipse-jee-mars-2-win64-x86_64-1.1.0.zip
Questions :
Are developer studio/IDE for AS and EI are different?
Can one IDE be used for both , AS & EI?
Why separate IDEs for each product?
Thanks
Website of wso2.com states
WSO2 Application Server was created as a mechanism to enable sharing of
business logic, data, and process across the entire IT ecosystem.
We currently have this capability within WSO2 Enterprise Integrator (WSO2 EI)
using Apache Tomcat.
There is no AS in list of products. I think AS server already included into WSO2EI and you can just use 1.1.0 version of Developer Studio(on github.com already available release for WSO2EI 6.2.0 https://github.com/wso2/product-ei/releases).
Documentation is always far behind like half year. I use as well 6.1.1 and have to refer documentation of 5.0.0 version. Just recent time start to appears pages for 6.1.1. That's why you just got stale link of developer studio to download.

How to install older version of azure service fabric SDK (after uninstalling latest version)?

I recently upgraded to 5.3.301 version of azure service fabric runtime on my local developer machine. Then I uninstalled it and tried to go back to previous version of 5.1.163. It seems that I can not go back because the web platform invoker no longer has the previous version (5.1.163) listed as one of the options.
Is there a way to go back to previous version of service fabric runtime? If so, how?
These are the links. Install in this order:
Runtime:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/9/6/C9680A4C-291F-4A6F-B699-26FF704577BA/MicrosoftServiceFabric.5.1.163.9590.msi
SDK:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/9/6/C9680A4C-291F-4A6F-B699-26FF704577BA/MicrosoftServiceFabricSDK.2.1.163.msi
VS Tools:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/7/6/E76A0B84-6DAB-4734-85E2-5912A1130FB4/MicrosoftAzureServiceFabricTools.VS140.en-us.msi
"I need this for version 2.4.164"
I don't have direct link for 2.4.164 but the web installer seems to have it:
http://www.microsoft.com/web/handlers/webpi.ashx?command=getinstallerredirect&appid=MicrosoftAzure-ServiceFabric-VS2015-2_1
Go to products tab then search for "fabric" query and you will get a choice between 2.4.164 and 2.5.216

Error - Eclipse client trying to reconnect to TFS - "LocationWebService"

When eclipse tries to reconnect to TFS (username.visualstudio.com) the 'authentication window' is replaced by a window that seems to describe available services and the authentication process stops here.
The content of this window is as follows:
LocationWebService
The following operations are supported. For a formal definition, please review the Service Description.
ConfigureAccessMapping
Connect
QueryServices
RemoveAccessMapping
RemoveServiceDefinitions
SaveServiceDefinitions
SetDefaultAccessMapping
With VS2010 I can still connect to TFS without problems.
Also, both with eclipse and VS2010 I can connect to codeplex (tfs).
Clearing cookies and/or cache from IE or Chrome doesn't help.
Everything is fresh installed, so I assume it's up to date.
How can I resolve this issue with Eclipse - TFS - username.visualstudio.com?
I had to reinstall the 2013 version (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40785) and everything started working. It's either a bug in an older version or mismatch with the server version being connected to.
I have this issue too. It only happens when I try to connect myuser.visualstudio.com, with my domain TFS it can authenticate without any problem.
I see that you are running Windows 7, in my case the eclipse TFS stop working with Windows 8.
