How to get the closest beaon in Ionic 3 - ionic-framework

currently I’m working with iBeacons and by far have managed to scan and display them on screen. But then I was told to scan and display for ONLY the nearest one ( the closest one), and ignore all the others. Can someone give me a rough idea how to get the closest beacon among a bunch of beacons that I have?
I believe that I can’t use the Proximity and Accuracy in this case since they often fluctuate.
Basically I haven't figured out how to work with the logic:

Keep in mind that the this.delegate.didRangeBeaconsInRegion().subscribe( data => { callback will happen once per second. So if you want to issue an alert based upon the closest beacon, you also need to take care not to to pop up new alerts every single second.
If you want to keep track of beacons you have already handled, you can declare a new object in some global-like scope outside the callback:

Then before you do any processing on a beacon, construct a string key based on your beacon identifiers, and make sure it has not triggered before:

How to request App Ratings with requestReview() correctly

I am currently learning how to ask the user for an AppStore rating in the app. I have read through numerous documentations and reports from Apple and other bloggers, but I still have questions:
I thought that I want to display my request after the user has completed a sequence of actions 3 times. But if the user doesn't want to rate my app right now, can I ask him to rate my app again later? I also read that Apple controls when and how often the review request is displayed (up to 3x / year)
My app has different functions. Therefore it is not guaranteed that the user accesses exactly this function, where I want to show the rating view. Is it therefore possible to call up the rating request at different points in the app and simply leave it up to Apple whether the rating request is also displayed?

Back to your questions.
Yes, you can ask again for review but there is no guarantee that the Review pop-up (alert) will be presented again. It is usually delayed in time and sometimes requires a new update of the app to trigger a new review prompt; That is correct, Apple has control over it but I don't know if its limited to only 3 times a year.
Yes, you can call it as many times as you want and wherever you find it suitable. Although, I highly encourage you to read (if still haven't) the link above. You need to think of a non-intrusive way to ask for review, otherwise you risk the user to dismiss the prompt, even if they like the app.
Just an advice, many apps use an approach with a custom popup "Do you like the app? Yes/No", if "Yes" then request a review using requestReview() call. And/or as mentioned in the article above, you can always use a manual review by redirecting to the AppStore, if you need it as a result of a CTA (tap on a button for example).

Lighthouse scoring for progressive web app

https://yourstop.info is a PWA. When I run lighthouse on it, the PWA score comes up as 73 and performance as 60, see image below.
It is giving a time to interactive of 19.1 seconds which is the reason for the low scoring. What happens on startup is that when the user's location is determined, a list of relevant bus stops is downloaded in the background. The code for this is

This does however not impact at all on the readiness of the PWA, the page is already fully rendered and the user can perform other tasks while the background function is in progress. If in the code snippet above, firstLocationUpdate is initialized to true and the background download is prevented, then the lighthouse scoring is much higher as shown here
Both cases however show the exact same user experience as far as I can tell. But the benefit of doing the background stop download is that the Locate the Nearest Stops operation happens much quicker.
The problem with the lower score for PWA is that chrome no longer automatically display the web app install banner. So I am in a situation where I need to make a choice and my current preference is for the background download to occur.
So the question is, is there a workaround which will allow me to have BOTH a high PWA score AND do the background download ?
Or is there any way of influencing how lighthouse scores PWAs, in my eyes anyway the background download resulting is lighthouse lengthening the time to interactive is not correct behavior ?

RxJs Observable with infinite scroll OR how to combine Observables

I have a table which uses infinite scroll to load more results and append them, when the user reaches the bottom of the page.
At the moment I have the following code:

There's one major problem:
Everytime appendNextPage is called, I get a completely new Observable which then triggers all prior HTTP calls again and again.
A minor problem is, that this code is ugly and it looks like it's too much for such a simple use case.
Questions:
How to solve this problem in a nice way?
Is is possible to combine those Observables in a different way, without triggering the whole stack again and again?
You didn't include it but I'll assume that you have some way of detecting when the user reaches the bottom of the page. An event that you can use to trigger new loads. For the sake of this answer I'll say that you have defined it somewhere as:

What you really want to be doing is trying to map this to a stream of one directional flow rather than sort of using the stream as a mutable object. Thus:

Having trouble attaching event listener to a kml layer's polygon

Using Google Earth I have a loaded kml layer that displays polygons of every county in the US. On click a balloon pop's up with some relevant info about the state (name, which state, area, etc) When a user clicks the polygon I want the information to also pop up on a DIV element somewhere else.

My problem is that when I change ge.getGlobe() to kmlObject or ge.getFeatures() it doesn't work.
My first question is what should I change ge.getGlobe() to to be able to get a click listener when a user clicks on a kml layer's polygon?
After that I was planning on using getDescription() or getBalloonHtml() to get the polygons balloons information. Am I even on the right track?

You don't need to change the event object from GEGlobe. Indeed it is the best option as you can use it to capture all the events and then check the target object in the handler. This means you only have to set up a single event listener in the API.
The other option would be to somehow parse the KML and attach specific event handlers to specific objects. This means you have to create an event listener for each object.

So, yes you are on the right track. I would keep the generic GEGlobe event listener but extend your recordEvent method to check for the types of KML object you are interested in. You don't show your KML so it is hard to know how you have structured it (are your <Polygon>s nested in <Placemarks> or ` elements for example).
In the simple case if your Polygons are in Placemarks then you could just do the following. Essentially listening for clicks on all objects, then filtering for all Placmark's (either created via the API or loaded in via KML).

If you wanted to go for the other option you would iterate over the KML Dom once it has loaded and then add events to specific objects. You can do this using something like kmldomwalk.js. Although I wouldn't really recommend this approach here as you will create a large number of event listeners in the api (one for each Placemark in this case). The up side is that the events are attached to each specific object from the kml file, so if you have other Plaemarks, etc, that shouldn't have the same 'click' behaviour then it can be useful.

ge.getGlobe can not be replaced with ge.getFeatures() : if you look in the documentation ( https://developers.google.com/earth/documentation/reference/interface_g_e_feature_container-members) for GEFeatureContainer ( which is the output type of getFeatures() , the click Event is not defined!
ge.getGlobe replaced with kmlObject: waht is kmlObject here??
About using getDescription, can you have a look on the getTarget, getCurrentTarget ...

What is the proper way in OpenLayers (OSM) to trigger a popup for a feature?

I have the feature ID, I can grab the marker layer on GeoRSS loadend, but I'm still not sure how to cause the popup to appear programmatically.
I'll create the popup on demand if that's necessary, but it seems as though I should be able to get the id of the marker as drawn on the map and call some event on that. I've tried using jQuery and calling the $(marker-id).click() event on the map elements, but that doesn't seem to be working. What am I missing?
Since I was asked for code, and since I presumed it to be boilerplate, here's where I am so far:

Elsewhere I've done a bit of jQuery templating and built me a nice list of all the points that are being shown on the map. I know how to do a callback from the layer loadend and get the layer object, I know how to retrieve my layer out of the map manually, I know how to iter over the layers collection and find my layer. So I can grab any of those details about the popup, but I still don't know how to go about using the built-in methods of the DOM or of this API to make it as easy as element.click() which is what I would prefer to do.
You don't have to click the feature to open a popup.
First you need a reference to the feature from the feature id. I would do that in the loadend event of the GeoRSS layer, using the markers property on the layer.
Assuming you have a reference to your feature, I would write a method which handles the automatic popup:
