Endpoint on Dynamics NAV needs IE trigger - service

I have a windows service running that communicates with a Dynamics NAV endpoint. Once this service is (re)started, the NAV endpoint responds with a "The login failed when connecting to sql server".
If I then paste the URL for the endpoint to Internet Explore (on the server hosting the service), then endpoint service responds correctly. From now on my window service works well, and does not fail.
So it seems that IE triggers an open connection that the service followingly can use.
Any idea what could be wrong here, and why it works after calling the endpoint in IE?

Cannot open Microsoft Dynamics NAV service links in a browser

I need to integrate Microsoft Dynamics NAV web services on the website. They provided me with a list of services URLs to access in a browser to see the XML structure. When I open, I see Sign In window, I enter username and password but window still prompts me to enter details. My IP is whitelisted, server IP as well and I send SOAP requests from server's specific IP. But no results.
I asked them and they told that they can see the XML in a browser. For me, I can imagine why I cannot get any results because if in browser the authentication is not working, it will not work for the server requests too.
I tried to turn off antivirus, restart the internet, tried with other PC,etc...but nothing, same result - looped sign in window
(see the attachment).
Any ideas please? Thanks
This is also not working for me in Chrome. It works in IE/Edge with the credential manager from windows and in Firefox with basic credentials.
You could try to use the Boomerang SOAP and REST Client for Chrome.
I use Web Services only with IE/Edge.
In the background of your Screenshot the page says that you are not authorized (HTTP 401). Is your user also a user in Dynamics NAV/Business Central?

REST API with Single Page Application over HTTPS on Firefox only

I am developing a web service using REST API. This REST API is running on port 6443 for HTTPS. Client is going to be a Single page application running on port 443 for HTTPS on same machine. The problem I am facing is:
While I hit the url say: https://mymachine.com/new_ui I get certificate exception for an invalid certificate because I use a self signed one, so mymachine.com:443 gets added to server exception. But still requests doen't go to REST API as they are running on https://mymachine.com:6443/restservice. If I manually add mymachine.com:6443 to server exception on firefox it works but it will not be the case in production for customers.
Some options that I thought are:
1. Give another pop up and ask to add REST server on port 6443 exception too.But this doesn't look proper as why an end user should accept the cerf for same domain twice. Also REST api server port can change.
Can we programmatically add exception for domain and both the ports in one shot? Ofcourse with the consent of the user. 3. Use a reverse proxy. But then its going to have memory footprint on our system. Also it will be time consuming.
Please suggest some options. How do I deal with it. Thank you

Confugaration/steps needed when consuming external Restful service from Fiori front end server

I have deployed a custom UI5 app ( using external REST ful services--> service hosted in another Java stack system) in the front end server.
I used Ajax to call the service directly with the URL as shown below.
This app has run successfully when i use "proxy" in local host(eclipse).
-->Ajax Call code Snippet
So i replaced proxy with target url while deploying in front end. (http ://xxx.xxx:port)
When running from front end server i got cross origin error as shown below.
Error1:<http://xxx:port/xxx/ngservices/rest/query/ZQUE_WEBSERV_APPHISTORY/executeGet. Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://xxx:port' is therefore not allowed access. The response had HTTP status code 401>
After enabling CORS plugin in chrome i got unauthorised error as shown below.
Error2:<http://xxx:port/xxx/ngservices/rest/query/ZQUE_WEBSERV_APPHISTORY/executeGet. Response for preflight has invalid HTTP status code 401>
I got the above errors initally while running from localhost. After that i used proxy and it got solved.
I just deployed the app in frontend server and ran it directly. I haven't done any other configurations.
Do i need to do any extra configurations for consuming these external services or kindly suggest any other suggestions.
Important info:
*Able to call external service from localhost(eclipse--> used proxy here) but not able to call service from frontend server.
*Front end architecture: Central hub deployement and connected to SRM,HR and CRM backends currently.

Both of these errors can be solved by creating and configuring a destination on your platform.
A destination is essentially a proxy: when you create it, you specify the backend URL, the authentication mechanism (Principal propagation/basic authentication etc). From your client, you just need to then connect to your destination to query the backend.
What do you mean by Fiori front end server? Are you referring to the Portal service hosted on HANA Cloud Platform?
If so, then you can create a destination by going to Connectivity - Destinations from your HCP account. From your Fiori application, you then need to connect your destination using the following URL pattern:
/destinations/<destination name>/<whatever you want to add to the URL the destination points to>
If you are using a different PaaS, I'm sure it will have some similar way of creating a proxy between your client and your backend. (Edit: I just saw you're using the Central hub deployment - I am not familiar with this system but it must have a very similar way of creating destinations).
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

IIS Arr not passing windows credentials on the same server

I have a self-hosted owin web api service on a test environment, and to give it a better name I use a domain alias, and ARR.
My web api runs on port 8888, and uses Windows Authentication. I have configured my arr to run under testserver:80 with anonymous authentication. I want to deploy a service on the box that will pool the webapi for data. When I try to visit testserver from my web browser on my desktop it works fine. However, when I remote into that box and try to hit testserver it prompts me for credentials. Even if I type them correctly it still will issue me a 401. If I go to localhost:8888 the site will work.
Since, I'd prefer to use the pretty name for the server in my service how do I correct this issue. How do I get it to pass credentials on the same box through ARR?
You might have have an issue with LSA loopback checking.
You get the 401 because ARR forwards your Windows Authentication to localhost, which is not allowed (default setting).
Try to disable LSA loopback checking (restart most probably required). If that works you can limit the disabling of loopback checking to specific websites (to prevent security holes).
See You receive error 401.1 when you browse a Web site that uses Integrated Authentication and is hosted on IIS 5.1 or a later version for more information on the LSA loopback check and how to disable it completely or only for specific hostnames.

Can't Authenticate with Local .NET back-end

I've followed the guide:
Getting Started with Authentication with Mobile Services .NET for Windows Store
I'm able to run the service locally as long as I don't need to authenticate the user. I can also authenticate the user if I publish the service to Azure. But I want to be able to test and authenticate the user locally. How can this be done?
I'm using Live ID and I have the correct ClientID and ClientSecret set in the Web.config. When I attempt to call LoginAsync from the client the call fails with The request could not be completed. (Method Not Allowed)
** Update 2014-03-20 **
Based on the comments of Carlos and Henrik, I've updated my local service to look exactly like my server instance. I followed Scot Hanselmans excellent guide and now I have my service running locally on port 80 and port 443 with a completely valid SSL certificate. It's even running on the exact same https://xxxx.azure-mabile.net hostname.
With these changes, there is now no configuration difference whatsoever between running the app against my local machine or running it against Azure. I can go to https://xxxx.azure-mabile.net in the browser, get redirected to Live login, sign in, and get redirected back to the service successfully. In the browser it all works. However it still doesn't work in the app.
I attached the debugger, set CLR errors to "break when thrown" and I managed to trap the exception in the service. Here's what I see in the immediate window:
The Response property is not helpful. It does not provide any additional information about the problem.
The only thing that stands out to me is that the app is trying to do a POST to /login/microsoftaccount while the browser would normally be doing a GET at this address (then getting redirected).
** Update #2 2014-03-20 **
After following Henriks guide for remote debugging I was able to load symbols and get a tiny bit more information:
"An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"
The error code is 10054 (WSAECONNRESET) Connection reset by peer.
It appears the Live Authentication server may be forcibly terminating the connection, but only when I'm authenticating with the app. Again, authentication within the browser is fine. This, combined with the fact that /login/microsoftaccount is a POST from the app seems to suggest there is a problem with the authentication token I'm getting back from LiveClient.LoginAsync. I'll do some more digging...
At the moment, it is set up so that you don't need authentication when running locally and access the service from localhost. In this case, anonymous access is let through (this is of course disabled while running in the cloud).
We don't really have a way for your to authenticate locally as redirect URIs won't work (they can't point to localhost as there is not way that Facebook, say, can resolve "localhost").
One option is that we somehow can mock the authentication locally and give you a token without connecting with the various identity providers. I am not sure exactly what that would look like but it is something we can consider.

Did you perhaps set Mobile client app: Yes in your Live Connect project? I think that setting is meant to be used with the Live Connect SDK (client) flow, not the browser-based (server) flow. The client flow isn't supported yet with a .NET backend.
You also want to make sure you are using LoginAsync(MobileServiceAuthenticationProvider.MicrosoftAccount) on the client to trigger the server flow.
