A JavaScript error occured in the main process : Compass - mongodb

When I started mongoDB client application Compass 1.13.1, I get the error like:
How I can solve it? Same issue was here.

Solution that worked for me:
Go to task manager
Kill the process called: "The MongoDB GUI"

Stuck?
open app -> get error -> no reboot ->
task manager -> "The MongoDB GUI" or "MongoDBCompassCommunity" -> kill process
Prevention?
Never quit the app using native close methods ("X" button / "Close window")
Always quit via Connect -> Quit (Ctrl+Q)
No need to disconnect first. It is just badly done electron app.
Answer based on solution from #Senne Verhaegen

Here's some additional ways how to solve:
From \AppData\Local\MongoDBCompass\app-1.13.1\resources delete the file named as app.asar, before it copy somewhere (in my case was desktop). Then paste file app.asar to this path again \AppData\Local\MongoDBCompass\app-1.13.1\resources and rerun Compass.
Restart Windows and try to run again Compass.
If nothing helps, reinstall the application (another version, for instance).

I got this error because I closed the app without disconnecting. I tried to start up the program and received the error. I waited about 30 seconds and then, surprise! Compass popped up and is running - even though the error showed. It must have cleaned itself up. I am using MongoDB Compass 4.0.3 Enterprise.

The problem is that the process "The MongoDB GUI" is still running after the application is closed.
Since I'm a very lazy person to open the Task Manager everytime this happens, I created a batch file with the following content:
#ECHO OFF
taskkill /f /im MongoDBCompass.exe
%LOCALAPPDATA%\MongoDBCompass\MongoDBCompass.exe
exit
I saved this file on the same directory of MongoDBCompass.exe, which can be easily found by checking the properties of your MongoDBCompass shortcut.
I overrided the Target to use that .bat instead of the default .exe and just said to it Run as administrator, never had problems again.

I recommend installing a recent version of Compass. This problem has been fixed in 1.17.

Solution that worked for me:
Go to task manager
Kill the process called: "Error". It will have a mongodb icon

MongoDB server not starting from vs code terminal

I am a beginner of MERN and while learning Mongodb I used to open my server using my PowerShell by the command mongod but I got to know that I can do the same from my VS code terminal. But unfortunately, it is not starting the server for some reason. There is no error that it prints on the screen. It simply prints some data and doesn't start the server. It is running mongo command perfectly on my terminal. Can anyone tell me why it is starting?
The error got fixed. Actually my project was in D drive and my data folder was into my C drive so whenever I was opening the terminal using mongod command. It used to find the data folder and as it didn't used to find it on D drive. It therefore used to close it up at the same time. Though if it would have shown the error correctly then it would have been better to fix it up.
I used cd C: command to change into the C: drive and then used the command mongod

AEM Stop command not working for Publish instance

I have AEM instance setup on a AWS Ubuntu machine. Not sure why stop command not working for publish instance. It is working fine for author instance. We have configured it on changed port(5054). Can anyone suggest if I am missing anything? Here is the screen shot showing the error message while running the stop command:
You cannot stop an AEM instance with the stop script if you did not start it with the start script.
If you look at the scripts you'll see that:
start script creates a file conf/cq.pid that has the java PID
stop script looks for that file and tries to stop the instance then deletes the file.
Thus, if you did not start with start script, you cannot stop with stop script.

Can't run "meteor mongo" on Meteor in Windows (latest meteor for windows exe bootstrapper)

I am trying to run a meteor app for the first time on Windows( using Windows 7 in particular). I am able to successfully run the app but i can't seem to be able to run the command meteor mongo in a separate command prompt window. The following error pops up:
mongo: Meteor isn't running.
This command only works while Meteor is locally. Start your
application first.
I have already tried meteor reset. How can i fix this?
I think there is possible a misconception about what the meteor mongo command does.
It only connects to the mongo instance of a running meteor development process.
So you need to start the meteor app by changing to your app's directory and running 'meteor'. Then on a different console window, change you the same directory and run 'meteor mongo'.
In the image below, when meteor isn't running I get the error you get, but you will note that it says that you have to start your application first. If you do that, and then in another console window it works:
Try one of these admin UIs for mongo instead. They connect directly to the db, so should overcome whatever problem there is with command line.
Alternatively, you may try a non-standard command line utility, like Cygwin.

windows 8 mongodb locked file, bad shut down

I just got mongo running yesterday, I entered C:\mongodb\bin\mongod.exe, then bought up another command prompt and entered the same thing again, and it was working fine. I ended up shutting it down wrong and now im getting unable to create/open lock file: data/db/mongod/lock because it is being used by another process. I have tried all of what im seeing but getting not recognized errors. It was a little test db, so i want to just get rid of it so i can open mongo again. I deleted the file.lock from my db file as well, but not sure it worked seems like it left and was back again, but it might just be me.
I know this is a super easy problem, just not getting it. Where should i be entering these command, im following the instructions, but i know im not inputing them in the right place because none of them work at all. I tried just inputting them, in C, in C: data/db, i entered C:\mongodb\bin\mongod.exe left it open and opened another command prompt and enter everything in there to. I can't just reset mongodb? Does anyone know what I'm missing maybe it's i have no windows knowledge at all, i'm trying to use it because i know javascript a little php/sql and i'm trying to learn node.js when i had it working in the shell it was great, but with this set up stuff i'm lost. I'm understanding everything there saying but just not where to do it i think.
Someone please lol, i just uninstalled mongodb and reinstalled and same problem.
mongod --repair (is not recognized as internal, or external command)
db.repairDatabase(same,,is not recognized as internal, or external command);
\data\db\mongod.lock (asks how i want to open it)
This is my set up, i think mongod is the problem, but can't get rid of it.
Computer>Windows>data>db
_tmp
joural
local
local.ns
mongod locked file
edit*** not sure if i removed the lock or not but i got it to work. I should have wrote down how i did it but pretty sure this was it.
open a command prompt cd\ enter it cd mongodb\bin enter it open another command cd\ enter it cd mongoDb\bin enter it. in the first command enter mongod then in the other one enter mongo. Don't know if this is right way, but i got me to be able to play with mongodb like i wanted.
try to remove mongod.lock and journal, then restart.

Not able to start Sphinx Search- error 1067

I am trying to install the Sphinx Search Server. I followed the steps given here http://itsonrail.wordpress.com/2010/05/23/installing-sphinx-on%C2%A0windows/
I added C:\Sphinx\bin to environment path and Sphinx Search is listed in the Services panel. When I try to start it, this error occurs:
Windows could not start SphinxSearch service on local computer
Error: 1067 The process terminated unexpectedly.
Please help me solving this problem. Thanks in advance.
I trid this http://sphinxsearch.com/forum/view.html?id=2684 but it didn't help.
I had the same error in my Windows 7 x64. The step below helped to solve my problem:
Create folders data and log in C:\Sphinx.
Then try to start sphinx with cmd:
C:\sphinx\bin>searchd
I have faced the same problem and eventually moved the sphnix.conf to C:\Sphinx\bin\sphnix.conf from root and the services starts. Please try this. (Please make sure there are data\, log\ directories in the root with write permission)
It is looking like your configuration is not setup properly. Have you tried to run search daemon from sphinx directory path via command prompt?
C:\sphinx\bin> searchd
C:\sphinx\bin>indexer --rotate –all
Also please ensure the log via search.log or windows event log.
If it is not running after this than try to reinstall it again
I hope it will work for you
Error 1067 doesn't say much about the problem, except that the process terminated unexpectedly. Try looking some more informations in searchd.log.
I've got same error code when I tried to update Sphinx with newer version.
In the log file, I've found
FATAL: no valid indexes to serve
My problem was that I tried running new version of Sphinx using index files created with an older version. It was solved by deleting all old index files and creating new indexes.
==>> close your cmd window and restart the sphinxsearch service...
I got this error suddenly, when Shpinx was working fine yesterday. Turns out the query log file was hitting 4Gb in size. I deleted it, and service started with no problems.
Make sure all the folders defined in the conf file actually exist. I was missing the LOG folder and that's why I was getting the error. Once I added the folder, the problem was solved.
