Newsroom is just a plugin for Superdesk. You need to install Superdesk as well from https://github.com/superdesk/superdesk.

I've had the same issue myself but not had much chance to do any digging in to why it's doing it yet but could be a breaking change in a newer version of Angular which the Ionic team haven't picked up on.
In the meantime (assuming you're using Angular), use:
ng serve and access it at http://localhost:4200.

This issue is related to npm 5.3.0.
It is best to downgrade to 5.2.0 using npm install -g npm#5.2.0
For us this is most commonly caused by npm's broken lockfile approach.
To resolve it, delete the package-lock.json and run your command again.
try this, and make sure you are using Mac

During today deploy (first from about a week) my application did not start. The changes were cosmetic and included only business logic, not configurations. What can be wrong? How can I fix this?

I've taken the build pack name from http://bpversions.mybluemix.net/.
Switch to npm >= 3.10.0 and the problem is resolved.
