I try to connect a socket-io with flutter. Before, our server-side developer give me an URL without SSL-Certificate and everything is worked. But now, our server has SSL-Certificate, I can't connect to that socket-io. This is my code to connect:
Socket socket = io(
'wss://server-address',
OptionBuilder()
.setTransports(['websocket'])
.disableAutoConnect()
.build());
socket.connect();
socket.onConnect((_) {
print('socket connect');
});
socket.onConnectError((data) => print('socket error = ' + data.toString()));
I get this error:
socket error = {msg: websocket error, desc: null, type: TransportError}
I try to deploy my web application on a secure host like firebase but still have problems. In inspect of firefox, I also see this error:
Firefox cant establish a connection to the server
How to fix this problem? How to connect to secure socket-io address in flutter web?
I would like to ask what is something missing or what is wrong with my fsockopen() in codeigneter. Ive been searching for fives days now and I couldnt figure out what is wrong since others who got the same error with mine we are on a different scenario. While them are for sending emails me is to get the Server Status if online or offline.
I`ve been creating a Online Games Web Templater were it can fetch/display data from Game Remote Server to webhosting. I was able to connect MSSQL to a remote server but the fsockeopne() does not work.
Helper.php Codes
function getServerConnection($ip, $port) {
$sockres = #fsockopen($ip, $port, $errno, $errstr, 0.01);
if (!$sockres) {
return '<b class="text-danger">OFFLINE</b>';
} else {
#fclose($sockres);
return '<b class="text-success">ONLINE</b>';
}
}

Var_dum $sockres and error
A PHP Error was encountered Severity: Warning Message: fsockopen():

DUMMY IP. IT HAS A REAL REMOTE IP Filename:
helpers/myhelper_helper.php
bool(false) int(110) string(20) "Connection timed out"
The allow_url_fopen = on and remote server firewall has been configure already
Thank you in advance :) sorry for my English I am not really good on this.
I was able to figureout this error it was because I am using wrong port. and make sure you configure correctly into your windows firewall. And try to use this one to check the port https://ping.eu/port-chk/
I'm getting "Socket Error #10060, Connection timed out" when trying to access a https link.
Here is how you can reproduce it with INDY 10.6.2.0 and OpenSSL 1.0.2d DLLs (also happens with older Indy 10 version and dlls):
create a project and add a TButton, TIdHTTP and TMemo objects to the form
add to button onclick this code:
IdHTTP1.Request.UserAgent:='Indy';
IdHTTP1.HandleRedirects:=true;
Memo1.text:=IdHTTP1.Get('https://www.itv.com');`
now compile and run it, it will download correctly the file.
BUT if you are using a service like www.smartydns.com which redirects DNS request to their server, INDY sample above will not work and fail with "Socket Error #10060, Connection timed out" message.
Have tried it with WGET too (https://eternallybored.org/misc/wget/) and in version 1.13 its initializing the SSL handshake and freezes, but works without problems with version 1.15.
So the question is, what IdHTTP settings do I have to use to make it work, or is it a bug in Indy10 ?
I have a simple socket.io chat application which I've uploaded to one of the new Heroku 'cedar' stacks.
Now I almost have everything working but I've hit one stumbling block. On my localhost, I open a connection to the socket server from the client with:
// lots of HTML omitted
socket = new io.Socket('localhost', {port: 8888});
But on Heroku, I obviously must substitute something else in for these values.
I can get the port from the process object on the server like so:
port = process.env.PORT || 8888
and pass that to the view.
But what do I substitute for 'localhost'?
The correct way according the article on heroku is:
io.configure(function () {
io.set("transports", ["xhr-polling"]);
io.set("polling duration", 10);
});
socket = new io.Socket();
This ensures that io.Socket won't try to use WebSockets.
I was able to get Socket.IO v0.8 to work on Heroku Cedar by doing the following:
Within the Express app (in CoffeeScript in my case):
app = express.createServer();
socket = require("socket.io")
...
io = socket.listen(app);
io.configure () ->
io.set("transports", ["xhr-polling"])
io.set("polling duration", 10)
io.sockets.on('connection', (socket) ->
socket.on('myaction', (data) ->
...
socket.emit('result', {myData: data})
### The port setting is needed by Heroku or your app won't start
port = process.env.PORT || 3000;
app.listen(port);
And within the front-facing Javascript of your application:
var socket = io.connect(window.location.hostname);
function sendSocketRequest() {
socket.emit('myaction', $("#some_field").val());
}
socket.on('result', function(data) {
console.log(data);
}

This has now changed as of Oct 2013, heroku have added websocket support:
https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/node-websockets
Use:
heroku labs:enable websockets
To enable websockets and dont forget to remove:
io.configure(function () {
io.set("transports", ["xhr-polling"]);
io.set("polling duration", 10);
});
After trying every combination under the sun I finally just left it blank. Lo and behold that works perfectly. You don't even need the port.
socket = new io.Socket();
I was also having this problem on heroku. I was able to make it work using the hostname "myapp.herokuapp.com" (or simply window.location.hostname, to work both local and in production) and setting the port to 80. I'm using SocketIO 0.6.0.
Wouldn't you just put your actual hostname?
2011-06-25T21:41:31+00:00 heroku[router]: Error H13 (Connection closed without response) -> GET appxxxx.herokuapp.com/socket.io/1/websocket/4fd434d5caad5028b1af690599f4ca8e dyno=web.1 queue= wait= service= status=503 bytes=
Does this maybe mean the heroku router infront of the app is not configured to handle web socket traffic?
[update]
It would appear as of 6/22/2011 the answer is yes... heroku does not support socket.io see this post: http://blog.heroku.com/archives/2011/6/22/the_new_heroku_2_node_js_new_http_routing_capabilities/
To connect my server with the APN server I use the following code.
// coonecting the apn server
$apnsHost = 'gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com';
$apnsPort = 2195;
$apnsCert = 'apns-dev.pem';
$streamContext = stream_context_create();
stream_context_set_option($streamContext, 'ssl', 'local_cert', $apnsCert);
$apns = stream_socket_client('ssl://' . $apnsHost . ':' . $apnsPort, $errorNo, $errorString, 2, STREAM_CLIENT_CONNECT, $streamContext);
But I am failed to connect, I print the $errorNo and $errorString
the output was:
error: Connection timed out
errorNo: 110
But I am also getting the following warnings in errorLog:
Unable to connect to ssl://gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com:2195 (Connection timed out) in /home/riseupla/public_html/applications/apn/apn.php on line 35
What shoud I do?
NOTE:
I can send push notifications by my mac project (using push me baby project).
But my PHP project failed to connect.
You do not say if you run the php from a different machine than your Mac, but if you are using a hosted service for your php site, then it might be that the ISP has blocked port 2195 (and 2196).
Try to run your php on the same machine as you use when running your Mac project and see if this helps. If that's the case, then you ISP has most likely blocked the ports, and you will have to either find a different ISP or have them open the ports.
Claus
You probably solved it.
But for those interested to find out if the ports are blocked: IF you have SSH access to the server a simple way is to check if you can telnet to the server. This way i found out my provider blocked the ports...
:~ telnet gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com 2195
:~ telnet gateway.sandbox.push.apple.com 2196
You should see something like:
Trying 17.172.232.236...
Connected to gateway.sandbox.push-apple.com.akadns.net.
Escape character is '^]'.
may be that your server's IP variety, it must be fixed so work!!
