I am working on a report that needs to contain on a page 3 images inserted from the database.
I created a subreport with the query that returns the images identified (maximum 3) by the parent's id, but I am unable to make the report insert them on the same page. If I add three image blocks it prints on the first page the first image x3, the second page, second image x3 and so on.
Basically I want to achieve the following:
Select * from img where parent.id=x => returns images with id 1,2,3;
Then on the same page:
image block 1 -> photo with id 1
image block 2 -> photo with id 2
image block 3 -> photo with id 3
Thanks in advance!
As far as I understood, you didn't handle the detail band correctly.
When you add a detail band to a you jasper report, the band will be displayed at export for each input object
For example if you have 1 detail band and 10 records (images in your case) from report datasource, you'll get 10 detail band on the resulting exported document
My advise would be to only put one detail which takes less than a third of the page, and you should get the expected result.

I'm using ireport designer 5.6.0. I'm trying to display data using table and in page header display number of pages. I found videos on youtube with examples where they put table inside Detail band and generate report, but it's not working for me, it's like in some loop only displaying "Generating report".
When I try to move table in some other band (page footer/header or summary), table is displayer, but page number is only displayed once instead for every page of report.
Is it posible in this version put table in detail band? Or should I maybe create subreport with table in it and put that inside detail band, so that page number would be displayed correctly?
Basically detail band will be displayed only when the main dataset query returns rows greater than one. I came to know from your question that there is no query for the main dataset. Also if the main dataset query returns 5 rows, then your table will be displayed or repeated 5 times. Make sure your main dataset query returns only row.
Also have a look at the problem due to the table component in detail band
First of all: I've read this question but it is not working for me.
What I need:
I have an SQL query that returns a 3 column set with about 50 rows that looks like this:
year | month | number
2012 | 1 | 35
2012 | 2 | 24
2012 | 3 | 127
and so on. Now I need two different representations of this data. The first one is a 2D bar chart and the second one a table with the numbers presented. I managed to do both, but what I'd like to have for the whole report is, to have 3 pages in total.
First page should be a simple cover page with the title of the report, which I can get by simply adding the title band, as far as I've understood. The second page should be the bar chart (filling the whole page) and the third page should be the table (also filling the whole page).
I've tried the following and didn't get the result I need:
Created 2 subreports (1 for bar, 1 for table), added them both in a main report (in the details band) with a page break in between. The result was 2 pages, but the chart and the table filled only half of their page. When I tried to resize the subreports to the full size of the page I got the error message that they're out of range...
Created 1 report with 2 detail bands. Added the chart into the detail band 1 and the table into the detail band 2. This worked for both elements to be the full size of the page, but the whole compiled report now has 100 pages --> 2 pages for one row in my sql set
So how can I accomplish what I need!? Is it even the right tool to use? Or should I simply create two reports, export them as PDFs and combine the PDFs by hand?
My suggestion - in your SQL query, add a fourth column that concatentates your year and month (let's call that year-month). Create a detail band with the following fields: year, month, number. Create a summary band for your chart with year-month as your x-axis and number as your y-axis. Make the title and summary bands the size of your output paper. In iReport, right-click on the name of your report and go to the Properties box for the report. Check the box for "Summary on a new page."
During PDf generation in Jasper, I have 2 bands having table in each, if data display of table1 ends in 90% of a page in PDF, then data display of table 2 display starts, where the table column header cannot be able to print within that page, so it prints only the border line of the table in that balance 10% of the page, but it normally prints the same data in next page. Here the problem is, it should not print the border of the table in first page if the actual data containing in that table cell cant able to print it within that page. This looks like some junk printing in the PDF. Please help.
For the group which holds Table 2, set the minHeightToStartNewPage, as per your requirements (maybe something like 100 or 200, for an A4 layout).
i have faced some problem , when i want to display some static Title after i have displayed a few number of Rows . for Example , the first 4 rouws on crystal Report has header"Training " the next 4 rows mmust have "Education " Report Header.
i am trying to display the report using by calling one Stored Procedures any one who can help me please??
You could insert a new detail section above your current detail section and have the new section only be visible based on record count or some value in the data. Add a new section in the details, Format Section->Suppress and enter a formula controlling when the new section is visible. For example, a running total field named InspIDCount and this formula in the suppress section ({#InspIDCount} mod 5 <> 0) will cause a blank row every 5 records. The new section could contain a formula to display the correct "title".
I think I misunderstood your question. The number of rows for each type is probably not constant. A better way to handle this would the to insert a group into your report if the data is not already grouped. Group by the record type (Education, Training Etc). You probably want to suppress the group header but show group by footer. The footer could display a field from the database showing the type or it could display a formula (string) based on the record type. It would only take a few minutes to give this a try.
I have place a subreport in my master report. I have my query like, for a application I have some 3 jobID. Based on this jobID I need to fetch the related data. I placed the jobID in the detail band and passed the same to the subreport as parameter.
Since the subreport is reporting only once in the master report, even though I have 3 jobID, it is display the first jobID data in the master report.
I need to get data for all the jobID of a application.
please see whether your sub report shows value for 3id if not then it cant appear data from three reports.
also place the subreport on the details band.
simple query with tree id returnce three row in the sub report is must. then only it will apear in the main report.
Note : if you place the report on the non repeating band. then that band only show the first comming data insted of showing 3 lines.
donot place sub report on title/pageheader/column heder with repeting value.
place only those sub report on this band which give only one value or one row
