Ubuntu installation gets stuck very early on. Current list of packages and confirmation that Tesseract and Leptonica seems to be installed correctly. Any clues appreciated?

Problem resolved after rebooting the machine. Not sure why this worked, other than I'd installed a lot of packages to get to this stage, and maybe something required a restart to complete the installation? If anyone can explain the problem, I'd be interested to understand why that might be?

Previous error was https://gist.github.com/adoug/f551c96ae49bcf0dd4905cfb3ed1c910. Installing qgis from gui also comes up with an error Unable to install QGIS Desktop: Error while installing package: installed qgis-providers package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 127
~ $ pip3 install gdal
Requirement already satisfied: gdal in /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages (3.2.2)
~ $ pip3 uninstall gdal
Found existing installation: GDAL 3.2.2
Not uninstalling gdal at /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages, outside environment /usr
Can't uninstall 'GDAL'. No files were found to uninstall.
The whole install seems to be broken, is there a way to clean all and resinstall or somehow recover from this?
Not really for a fix for current issue, but used fresh anaconda install as a workaround to get gdal working again
conda update --all
conda install -c conda-forge gdal
I am using an EMR notebook attached to my cluster for some experimentation purposes. I needed to install some python modules for testing, specifically spacy and it's data module en_core_web_sm.
I ssh'ed into the master and core nodes and downloaded the modules individually. However I am not able to import from the my EMR notebook. I get the following error :
An error was encountered:
No module named 'spacy'
Traceback (most recent call last):
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'spacy'
I know there is a way to install them just for the scope of EMR notebook, but this wouldn't suffice in a production scenario, so please avoid answers which suggest notebook installing as mentioned in this guide : https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/big-data/install-python-libraries-on-a-running-cluster-with-emr-notebooks/
Please let me know if I am missing some setup steps. Appreciate your response.
You can use bootstraps to install additional modules while creating your EMR
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/emr/latest/ManagementGuide/emr-plan-bootstrap.html
I was able to solve this by changing the bootstrap script to use sudo instead of --user. (You could also manually change run the scripts below)
Before I was running
pip3 install spacy --user
python3 -m spacy download en --user
I changed that script to
sudo pip3 install spacy
sudo python3 -m spacy download en
To verify this solution quickly issue the following commands from your EMR notebook (to compare before and after)
sc.list_packages()
You should see an output similar to this
SparkSession available as 'spark'.

This is not the best possible solution IMO, since the first warning that gets displayed after using sudo is

If anyone has a better solution please free to post.
When I install paramiko on raspberypi , have this problem:
ImportError: /lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.25' not found
Have you try to upgrade your libc6 package?
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libc6
From: How to fix “/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found”?
That means the program was compiled against glibc version 2.14, and it requires that version to run, but your system has an older version installed. You'll need to either recompile the program against the version of glibc that's on your system, or install a newer version of glibc (the "libc6" package in Debian).
Finally,I solve the problem by the root.Upgrade Raspbian Stretch to Raspbian Buster.

I am building Voice Call feature for Android app by using Linphone.
On server (CentOS 6.8), I install Flexisip by tutorial on Homepage of Linphone wiki (https://wiki.linphone.org/wiki/index.php/Flexisip:installation).
However in step 1, I cannot install "EPEL repository" for hiredis-devel package because this link is not found: http://mirror.ibcp.fr/pub/epel/7/x86_64/repoview/epel-release.html. If I ignore step 1, then when install Flexisip, it require hiredis-devel with version 0.11 or higher.
So I have some questions:
Can I install Flexisip on CentOS 6.8 ? or Flexisip require CentOS 7 and more recent ?
If I can install Flexisip on CentOS 6.8, how can I install hiredis-devel with version 0.11 or higher ? (because Flexisip require hiredis-devel with version 0.11 or higher, I only can install hiredis-devel with version 0.10 on CentOS 6.8)
Thanks all (sorry I am not native English speaker)
First, you need to download the file using Wget and then install it using RPM on your system to enable the EPEL repository. Use below links based on your Linux OS versions. (Make sure you must be root user).
RHEL/CentOS 7 64 Bit
wget http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm
rpm -ivh epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm
RHEL/CentOS 6 32-64 Bit
wget http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/i386/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
rpm -ivh epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
RHEL/CentOS 6 64-Bit ##
wget http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
rpm -ivh epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
After installing pyethereum I get the following error asking to upgrade my setuptools. I have upgraded setuptools but it seems my system can't still recognize it.
Here is the error I get:
error: Setup script exited with Your setuptools version (1.1.6) is too old to
correctly install this package. Please upgrade to a newer version (>= 3.3).
Try running this:
sudo easy_install -U setuptools
In my case, this took me to setuptools version 25.4.0 for Python version 2.7 on my Mac, which I verified by running this:
sudo easy_install --version
setuptools 25.4.0 from /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages/setuptools-25.4.0-py2.7.egg (Python 2.7)
