not register ionic application on mobilefirst to use - ionic-framework

In mobile first tutorial,
one step is mfpdev app register
Question is what is the use of the registration
as I develop an ionic project and can connect to mobile first without registration when Cordova web resources Previewed with the Mobile Browser Simulator using MobileFirst command mfpdev app preview
mobile first 8
ionic 3

mfpdev app register command will register your application with MobileFirst Server. Without registering your application with the server, the application on the mobile device will fail to connect to server with an error 'application does not exist'.
If you do not want to use mfpdev app register command, you can register your application manually at MFP Operations console.
For more details , refer : Registering an application
Update : If you are using command mfpdev app preview to preview your web resources with the Mobile Browser Simulator, Security checks are not run on the server-side and security challenges are not sent to the client that runs in Mobile Browser Simulator.
MobileFirst Development Server includes a confidential client "test" that has an unlimited allowed scope ("*"). By default mfpdev app preview uses this confidential client.
NOTE : command mfpdev app preview is meant for preview the UI , OAuth protocol is not fully supported
For more details, refer :Previewing Cordova web resources with the Mobile Browser Simulator

Thanks for #manjunath kallannavar for all the supports
Unrestricted right (without login) to both protected and unprotected resources lead me to confidential client.
As pre https://youtu.be/DlxZYxXszIw?t=15m40s, the author mentions user is as confidential client when using mfpdev app preview.
However, this is not documented in IBM reference. (Please quote if you find one)
Also, by using ionic cordova run android in emulator, finally challenge received.
Conclusion, with mfpdev app preview, user right = confidential client => can access all resources

Official explanation:
MobileFirst Development Server includes a confidential client "test" that has an unlimited allowed scope ("*"). By default mfpdev app preview uses this confidential client.

The browser-default installation prompt for my PWA is not displayed. Why?

I followed all recommended steps for setting up a PWA which can be installed on the user device, following the guideline here: Installable PWAs (MDN):
To make the website installable, it needs the following things in place:
- A web manifest, with the correct fields filled in
- The web site to be served from a secure (HTTPS) domain
- An icon to represent the app on the device
- A service worker registered, to allow the app to work offline (this is required only by Chrome for Android currently)
Still, I don't see the browser-default installation prompt.
How do I find out, why my PWA cannot be installed?
I recommend using Lighthouse, which is an excellent tool for auditing your web app with respect to different categories, including PWA properties. It is also available in Google Chrome in the developer tools (Ctrl-Shift-I / Cmd-Opt-I and select tab Lighthouse).
How do I trigger a PWA audit in Lighthouse (in Google Chrome)?
Choose the category Progressive Web App and then click on Generate report.
Example report
In the example below, you can see that there are some issues present. But the reason, why you don't see the installation prompt is the service worker. Apparently, it isn't registered as expected.
Web app manifest or service worker do not meet the installability requirements

How to authorize domains for TinyCloud on iOS apps (built via Capacitor)

I've created an iOS app from my web app thanks to Capacitor and I'm having an issue with Tiny since the domain appears unapproved and I don't know how to fix it. On which domain runs a Capacitor app ? localhost ? capacitor ?
So my iOS users are seing the popup saying the domaine is not registered
The TinyMCE Cloud platform works with the http and https protocols but it won't accept non-standard protocols such as capacitor.
You could switch to bundling TinyMCE in your application as opposed to fetching it from our Cloud platform but there is currently no way to make our Cloud work with the capacitor protocol.

Visual Studio 2015-Angular-Cordova-facebook login error

My Visual studio 2015 Cordova app, which uses facebook login is working fine in Ripple emulator. However, when I try to run the same app in Android emulator or in device, I get the error: “Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains.".
In my facebook settings (https://developers.facebook.com) for website I have following entry:
Site URL: http://localhost:4400/
Mobile Site URL: http://localhost:4400/
In Advanced Tab, OAuth settings, both Client OAuth Login and Embedded browser OAuth Login are “yes”.
I tried with “Valid OAuth redirect URIs” keeping empty or http://localhost:4400/login
Hosts file does have an 127.0.0.1 localhost entry.
What should be the right URL in Site URL for an application in Basic and Advanced tab of http://developers.facebook.com? Wondering if these fields are ignored for a mobile app?
Like on a device, when running in the Android emulator, the Android OS believes "localhost" is the device itself rather than your PC. This is just like running Windows in a VM in this regard. Try fully qualifying your machine name or using an external IP instead.

Call phonegap plugin function within web app

i am building my first phonegap app and when i open the app i instantly redirecting (window.location) the user to my server where my web app is hosted. Is it possible to load the phonegap plugins from there? Because the "deviceready" event is not firing and i cannot call any plugin functions.
I can confirm that loading remotely does appear to allow access to native components (when scripts are properly loaded) and that cordova.jsdoes not appear to need to be loaded by the local index.html bootstrap.
Short answer: Yes
Some 'gotcha's'
You will have to supply correct cordova.js version for the platform browsing to your site.
you can look here for more info https://github.com/apache/cordova-js. This project hosts the core js elements, and builds the platform specific cordova.js lib
Any plugin api's your app wants to interact with must be pre-installed into the Native App
any plugin with native code will have to be added to the project and deployed to device bundled inside the app. There is no way to lazyload native code. The js portions of the plugin could be hosted on your server, however.
More information, some apps that do this
The PhoneGap Developer App uses a similar technique to what is describe above and what you want. The only difference is that it is meant as a dev tool, and the server is a local dev machine.
The Cordova App Harness also uses this technique of pre-bundling an app package with plugins, to be consumed by remotely hosted resources
You cannot, deviceready only functioning if the app run on mobile phone environment only. If web based or dekstop application, it won't trigger.
No , dont do that . loading remote website will not able to intract with your plugins . and the app will get rejected on istore too

OpenID Error while testing asp.net app in My Developer Center

I am testing an application I developed using the .NET Devkit 2.0. In My Developer Center I am trying to run the connection tests in the Testing Your App section of the page. The OAuth test works fine but when I try to test OpenID I am getting an error.
When I click the "Test subscribe to app from Intuit App Center (OpenID)" it brings me to the company connect page, then I select the company, then it brings me to a free trial page of my App.
When I click "authorize" I am getting a 404 Error.
The URL points to: https://myserver.com/Error.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/myapp/OpenIdHandler.aspx
Where myserver is the name of my development server and myapp is the name of my application.
I am able to run the application from Visual Studio without a hitch. It connects and runs as expected but when I try it in the dev center it doesn't work properly.
Are my application settings correct?
Should I be pointing to OpenIdHandler.aspx in this instance?
App settings in the dev center:
App URL: https://myserver/myapp/Default.aspx
Disconnect Landing URL: https://myserver/myapp/Disconnect.aspx
Manage Users URL: https://myserver/myapp/Default.aspx
OpenID URL: https://myserver/myapp/OpenIdHandler.aspx
This is my first run at publishing to the Intuit App Center so any suggestions would be a huge help. I'm not even sure if the settings in the dev center are the problem or not.
Thank you
My firewall was not set up properly so it was not allowing any traffic to hit the desired pages of the site. Seems very curious to me that I was able to go to the default page but no others. Any way, it works now.
