Track form conversions confirmation page URL is the same as the form - forms

I'm trying to track form completions on a page where the form's URL is the same as the confirmation page.

Does anybody know if this can be done with Google Tag Manager/Google Analytics please?
Completion page
Simply tracking clicks of the Submit button will result in false positives because sometimes people will not type the security code correctly.
Is there a tracking code of some sort that can be added to the confirmation page, so that each time it loads the count goes up one?

You can use the built-in visibility trigger - e.g. as soon as a link element with the link back to the homepage becomes visible you let the trigger fire. Specifics depend on the CSS id or class for that link (if any, else you'd have to test the click text).
In the visibility trigger you might have to enable "listen for DOM changes" if the confirmation message is loaded per Ajax (as opposed to just have their CSS display property set to 'none'.

Fire the Facebook Pixel event when the user clicks on the form submit with 'click' event listener. Standard versus Custom events is a separate issue, but I suggest sticking with Standard events where you can.

Stephen, you provided too few information.
Richy is right that in your case if you can't control where your user lands after submitting the form you should use onClick event to send a pixel event. You can easily validate the form in the code of the onClick event and send it when you're sure data is according to your expectations. You can even do additional requests to your back-end to check the data.
If you can change how your web-site work you can make a landing page where you'd fire an event if all the processing went right.
If you can also easily do it on your index page by loading it with some parameter in the URL that indicates it is visited after the form was submitted. There you can have a simple JS code snipped with condition in it to fire a pixel event if URL parameter is present or do it with Google Tag manager which is even simpler.

How to store text from field with Google Tag Manager on a form submission

I'm trying to catch email address as a variable with Google Tag Manager (GTM) on signup form submit on http://cloud.feedgee.com/ru/signup and fire a tag with it. On submit, the page is being reloaded.
By now tried to catch it with Form submission by form id set as shown on screenshot) and a Button click as a Custom event with it's click id
I initiated a DOM element variable with Id of the Form text field (Element Id=ContentPlace_loginEmail)
With these settings in Preview mode on Form Submit, I can not see my Tag in "Tags Fired On This Page" row before page reload.
What can be the reasons for this if Id's of the elements are correct?
May it depend on the container script location on the page?
Now It's located right after the HTML tag.
Can I store form text field in a DOM variable to use it in the tag?
If you want to store the email value in your own API, Google Tag Manager is not the right tool for you. You should only use it to track events that fit under Google's terms of use.
Having said that, when you're working with forms in GTM, hold the <shift> key with you click the submit button. If you do that, a new tab will open up, but the current page wont get redirected or refresh. You'll then be able to see what data is being pushed to the dataLayer.

How to update the responses of the google form to the form itself

I am creating a Google Form. I want to insert a count in the end(anywhere,not specific) of the form which will show the number of responses submit till date.This goes like updating the live count. I have tried using script editor for Google Form Add-ons option.But I am unable to view the results automatically or changes. It asks me to accept "Terms of Service" which I don't want to do right now because I am not sure about the way it may result.
There are various options available to view the form results/responses.But here I don't want to view the results later.They should get updated when we click the submit button on form.Please note..simultaneously many users may fill the form.
To implement this,I have thought of logic like whenever submit button gets clicked..the text in the form should get updated.
Please suggest how I can add the count or apply above logic of whenever submit operation is performed. Is it possible?? Any other suggestions are welcomed..Thanks in Advance!!!
I found another possible way of doing this..I received all the responses in Google Spreadsheet..which I later embedded in my site. Solves the purpose..And the embedded data gets updated automatically for the responses !! Cheers

ASP.NET MVC 2: Emulating eBay Postback

Below is an image of the sections I'm talking about:
What I'm doing is very similar to eBay:
1) a form at the top for "search terms" and then a category.
2) filters on the left that a user can click to refine the search even further.
3) sorting those results.
I played with eBay a bit and it looks to me like they are posting back every time a filter (box on the left) is clicked, or when they sort the results. Do they then store a copy of all the "settings" used to display the page in the form and use that to post back on a submit click?
How can I emulate this functionality? I don't like the idea of wrapping an entire page in a form element... it seems dirty. Should I use jQuery to collect all of the user input and then somehow pass it along?
I'm not sure how eBay does it, but if it were me, I'd have some javascript object that keeps track of all the search options on the page. Each of the elements you've highlighted would fire an event that would cause my javascript object to update this information, send it via AJAX to a controller action, and update the results area with the changes.
That's a somewhat simplified version of events, but hopefully it can put you on the right track.
I've decided that the best solution is to use jQuery Ajax. Otherwise, I'd have to make sure that every peice of user input is a form element and wrap the entire page in a form tag.

Trigger HTML POST/Form submit w/o JavaScript

I have a timed page that I need to use to submit a form upon the end of a specified time period.
The usage would be: User visits page, 90 seconds later all form data is submitted and user is redirected to next page.
The user is well aware that the page they are on is timed (its for a web-only experiment), so I'm not worried about "unfriendly" browser behavior on this page.
Ideally, I'd like to avoid using JavaScript (some of our targeted users are using no-script for various reasons, but if its the only way, so be it), and would also like to avoid just passing variables through the URL (to cut down on the possibility of spoofing). It is easy enough to set a META refresh tag to do the redirecting, but at the end of the time period I need some way for the response header to be set as if the submit button was clicked, whether or not it actually was.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have.
