Finding out Adobe Experience Manager last restart time - aem

Could anyone please temme how to know when my AEM Author/Publish instance was last restarted? I know it can be done from logs. But which log and is there any keyword with which I can grep the log?

Yes, you can rely on logs to find this out. error.log and stdout.log look promising. You can grep for any of the sling start events from stdout.log. Logs from stdout.log
during restart:
Loading quickstart properties: default
Loading quickstart properties: instance
Quickstart startup at Thu Sep 13 11:54:21 AEST 2018
UpgradeUtil.handleInstallAndUpgrade has mode RESTART

13.09.2018 11:54:21.772 *INFO * [main] Starting Apache Sling in D:\Tools\aem\author\crx-quickstart

There is an admin page which will give you last started time OOTB -> http://<<host>>:<<port>>/system/console/vmstat

kaa data collection doesn't retrieve data mongodb

I installed kaa iot server manually on ubuntu 16.04, and use data collection sample to test how it works.
the code run without any errors, but when I run these commands below nothing happens:
mongo kaa
db.logs_$my_app_token$.find()
I even comment out bind_ip of mongodb.conf and restart mongodb, zookeeper and kaa-node services, but nothings changed.
I also regenerated SDK and rebuild project but that wouldn't help either.
finally this is the kaa log:

thank you for your help to fix this problem...
After lots of searching and checking, I finally found it!!!
there are multiple reason that this would happen:
if you are using Kaa Sanddbox make sure that you set your network setting into bridge (not NAT).
check your iptables and find out if these ports are open: 9888,9889,9997,9999.
if you are using virtual machine as your server, make sure that hosts firewall system doesn't block the ports.(This is what happened to me...)

Wildfly not starting properly

So I have a rather strange issue with wildfly not starting...
If I clean the standalone/deployments of everything but one .war file, wildfly starts perfectly. I can then add in all other .war files(6 in total) and wildfly deploys them without issues.
However if I have all the war files in there and start wildfly it completely fails. It stays in a state where everything is set to .isdeploying for maybe 5 minutes until everything gets set to failed.
The logs that I am getting from service wildfly status
Feb 09 08:49:12 wildfly[2079]: /etc/init.d/wildfly: 3: /etc/default/wildfly: default: not found
Feb 09 08:49:12 wildfly[2079]: * Starting WildFly Application Server wildfly
Feb 09 08:49:43 wildfly[2079]: ...done.
Feb 09 08:49:43 wildfly[2079]: * WildFly Application Server hasn't started within the timeout allowed
Feb 09 08:49:43 wildfly[2079]: * please review file "/var/log/wildfly/console.log" to see the status of the service
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
After looking aroung I found this just before it undeployed everything:
ERROR [org.jboss.as.controller.management-operation] (Controller Boot Thread) WFLYCTL0348: Timeout after [300] seconds waiting for service container stability. Operation will roll back. Step that first updated t
he service container was 'add' at address '[
("core-service" => "management"),
("management-interface" => "http-interface")
]'
But I am still not sure what i means...
This happened to me too starting on WildFly 11 and above IIRC.
Are you trying to access to the public or management IP while the server is booting? Basically you have to wait until the server has started to access those IPs.
My workaround was use the marker files that deployment scanner checks.
https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/WFLY/Application+deployment#Applicationdeployment-MarkerFiles
Before you start wildfly you have to put a .skipdeploy file for each .war you want to skip. Then, when the server has started you only have to delete that file to let wildfly start the deployment. You can achieve this making a shell script and calling it from your standalone.sh
This error shows that your IP/Port is being used by another process.
Use below command to check it.
For windows: use netstat -aon | find "port number"
You can configure jboss.as.management.blocking.timeout system property to tune timeout (seconds) waiting for service container stabilityas below :
...
</extensions>
<system-properties>
<property name="jboss.as.management.blocking.timeout" value="900"/>
</system-properties>
<management>
...
Or, if still doesn't work this way, collect a series of thread dumps during your startup period so we can see what it might be getting stuck on.

Context Broker crashing with certain update queries

We're running the Context Broker on a CentOS server but it keeps crashing with certain update queries. We've tried version 0.26 and the latest 1.0.0-1 but the result is the same, we've also tried changing the mongoDB version between 3.0.6 and 3.0.7 but no luck. The logs doesn't give us much to go on so that's why we're asking here in SO.
What we're doing is to send an update of an entity of about 1MB in size routed in from a http call via nginx. The context broker crashes (see logs below) but mongodb and other services continue to function normally.

Any ideas about what could be causing this, or where we should continue looking?
This crash is due to a bug detected at Orion. A fix is on the way, so we hope it get merged and ready to be included in next Orion release (Orion 1.2.0).

Not able to log in to the alfresco application

I am new to alfresco/centos.
The Problem is
http://localhost:7070/alfresco --- getting page error
http://localhost:7070/share --- log in page is opening but cannot able to log in to the application.
username/password using is admin/admin.
As my observation i got to know that, in etc/hosts(host file are missing) file i need to add alfresco IP address and server name. I tried different alfresco IP address by searching in net. But it is not working, And i added some supporting file to that. But no use.
Any solution!!

You are most likely hitting the sharepoint service which is not meant to be used with a browser. Try http://localhost:8080/share/ or http://localhost:8080/alfresco/ instead.

Selenium looping through jenkins and permission denied in cli

After struggling to get proper testsuites, I'm now pretty disappointed by the fact that , while following as close as possible this tutorial (pretty straightforward, right ?) Setting up Selenium server on a headless Jenkins CI build machine, Jenkins keeps looping on the current build, outputting :
So I decided to run a selenium build by hand on the ci machine, and got this :

Any chance you guys already have been facing that kind of stuff ? Thanks
I only just got past these problems myself, but I was able to run your command when I pointed it at my .jar, testSuite and report file. I'm thinking that perhaps the location of your files under,
/var/lib/selenium
could be part of the problem. Try putting them where your user has permission perhaps under
/home/USERNAME/selenium
Other than that the only thing I can say is make sure your .jar, testSuite and report file are valid.
Also (I assume this is an error of copy and paste into stack overflow) but, this part of your command is incorrect
/var/lib/selenium/selenium- server.jar
You are not getting the error I would expect from an incorrect jar location so I assume something was lost when you pasted to stackoverflow.
