I've published my game Popcorn Quiz, but in the directory browser it seems that the Smart Display option is greyed out. It is available and tested against in the simulator so I assumed that it would be available when live.
Am I missing a setting in deploy options?
Thanks
If you see a smart display icon (even if it looks greyed out), then the action can be invoked on smart display devices.
We are investigating the icon color issue.

I am creating a dev. site to eventually replace an existing site and every time I inspect an element the body of the page shrinks down to a third of the left half of the page. It is also happening randomly with the slider where the image shows on only half the page from time to time. If I refresh the page it corrects it until I inspect an element again. It is making it impossible to work on this site and I have disabled the theme and gone to a stock theme as well as one by one disabled plugins trying to figure out what is causing this glitch and I have yet to determine what could be causing this issue. How can I fix it?
If you're using chrome dev tools (assuming the dev-tools window opens separate from chrome, not in the same window) my guess is that your device toolbar may be toggled.
Click this to turn it off, as it's used to test your site on a different screen sizes and could be shrinking your screen whenever you inspect something.
It's possible that you have your Dev tools Emulator on which helps you emulate the web page in different device sizes. Try closing the emulator by clicking on it.
First introduction to chrome apps. I'm trying to get some sort of workflow down. I've enabled the checkbox to collect errors, but can not seem to clear them between executions of the app. I assumed closing the app them re launching it would do the trick. The only thing that works right now is deleting the app then reloading the package.
To clear the list of errors at "Collect errors":
Toggle the "Developer mode" checkbox (disable, then re-enable).
Click on the Reload link (reload extension/app).
Refreshing the page instead of reloading the app/extension also works.
Using the 39.0.2171.95 64-bit Chromium all I need to do is toggle the Developer mode
I think the solution suggested by Rob does not work anymore for recent versions of Chrome.
You clear the errors by following the steps below.
Go to chrome://extensions
If it's not enabled, enable the Developer mode, see below.
Click on the Errors button (in red in the picture below) on the extension.
Now you can either delete each single error by clicking on the trashbin icon next to it, or you can just clear all errors by clicking on the Clear all button depicted below.
NOTE: I have rephrased the title because I'm not getting any answers. Surely someone out there has experienced this problem and knows what to do. Thank you!
I have an iPhone web app that works almost perfectly in Safari on the desktop. Only two things do not work correctly on the desktop:
Radio buttons do not appear. They are operational because you can check one if you know where it is; it simply is invisible.
When SELECT is used, the little box with the default selection in it and the little down arrow do not appear. However, the actual text of the default selection DOES appear. If I click on that text the drop-down menu appears as it should.
In both cases the problem seems to have to do with icons missing or not rendered as needed.
What is the problem and how can I correct it?
Thank you.
Dave
Have you tried changing your user agent to Mobile Safari? If you turn on the Develop menu in Safari advanced prefs, you can then test the app in different environments. It's just a thought.
How do I place the shortcut icon in the cab file? Can anyone shed some light on this? I searched online and found no info about this at all, except a claim that the icon used in the smart device project is automatically pulled into a cab. Well, it isn't so. It got pulled in once and after that when i CHANGED the icon it still shows an old one.
Any clues?
The shortcut icon is the icon from the application itself, so you don't "add" one. Bear in mind that WinMo/Pocket PC caches that icon for the Start menu, so if your app had a different icon to begin with, then you'll probably have to soft-reset the device to get the start menu to pick up the new icon.
This one's new to me.
I downloaded and installed the VB.Net version 3.5 updates, and got some complaints about my printer drivers, which I ignored. My system auto-rebooted without asking, and then came up with am "Active Desktop Recovery" background screen (everything still works normally). So when I tried to "restore my active desktop" ( a button on the background screen) it claims a script error.
Okay, fine, I wasn't using the active desktop anyhow, so I decided to turn it off. Go to the Display Properties window, and WTF! The Desktop tab is gone!
Anybody know the fix for this, or even a workaround??
Sounds like malware, perhaps trying to hide whatever changes it made to your desktop and prevent you from undoing them. Give your favourite anti-malware a go.
Afterwards, to restore the tab and fix the recover button thingie there's a few MSKBs: 929200 and 929200.
Set the decimal value to 0 under the value DeskHtmlVersion in key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\SafeMode\Components.
