I am trying to run my project: App.java but this error pops up in VS Code terminal:
JavaFX runtime components are missing, and are required to run this application
I have actually completed this project: App.java in a year ago and I was able to run App.java smoothly without this error during that time. Since then, I have not run App.java for about 11 months and now I would like to run App.java again. However, this time, I got this error.
Here is my launch.json:
"vmArgs": "--module-path \"C:/Java/javafx-sdk-17.0.1/lib\" --add-modules javafx.controls,javafx.fxml"
Environment Variables (User Variable):
Variable Name: JAVA_HOME
Variable Value: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17.0.1
p.s. I have already set up all these a year ago when I complete this project and App.java was able to run without this error. I didn't change any part of the code including settings.json and launch.json. I really have no idea why this error pops up after a year when I want to run App.java again.
I have tried to restart my VS Code, run VS Code in Administrator Mode, uninstall and reinstall Extension Pack for Java in VS Code, disable and enable again all the extensions I have used in VS Code, followed all the other guides asked by other user who also faced this issue. Sadly, I still get this error.
For the last two days, I am facing a problem with my VSCode. Whenever I write any C/C++ code and click on run, there is no response shown by VSCode. I even uninstalled the whole setup and installed it again but the same issue I am facing again. What should I do to resolve it?
I am unable to get Python extension working with fresh install of VS Code / Python 3.7.3 on Windows 10.
VS Code status bar shows a message 'Python extension loading...' continuously.
Python is installed in a non-standard path at c:\Programs\Python\Python37-32\python
Have uninstalled both VSCode and python several times and had installed afresh.
C:\WINDOWS\system32>which python
/c/Programs/Python/Python37-32/python
When developer tools is opened, the following error shows up in console.

OK - I deleted the VS Code profile folder
'%APPDATA%\Roaming\Code
and installed fresh extension along with miniconda, and it is working fine.
This seems to be an annoying problem that is caused by other extensions. Best way I fixed mine was:
To disable all the extensions
Enable ms-python extension
Reload vs-code and voila, it's all fixed
I also had this problem. But I fixed it by changing the location of the python file.
I have Visual Studio Code version 1.22.2 running on Windows. When working on Javascript code, it crashes and causes a blue screen with the following technical info:
STOP: 0X0000007E
mfeavfk.sys - Address <...>
I have a plugin for MS SQL and a beautify plugin installed.
I recently updated Windows and started experiencing BSODs every time I started VS Code. Here's how I fixed it - hopefully this helps someone else:
Open a command prompt and type the following command:
code --disable-extensions
If your computer doesn't BSOD after this step, then an extension is likely causing the issue.
Press ctrl+shift+x to open the extensions sidebar
Under disabled, uninstall any extensions you aren't using or don't recognize.
Restart VS Code, and see if it still crashes.
If step 3 didn't help, try removing all extensions and then reinstalling one at a time until you find one that causes the crash. Then repeat steps 1-4, this time removing the extension you identified as causing the crash.
I'm trying to add Aptana to my Eclipse installation. I'm trying to do so on Win7 x64. I've tried both x86 and x64 versions of Eclipse. Most of the time Eclipse would install just fine, run okay, but as soon as I try to pluin Aptana it has problems. It will start up, then encounter an error immediately and close. Right now I have the x64 version installed fine. When I start it up it throws the error but doesn't close. I can close the error window and continue using Aptana just fine. I've attached a couple screenshots to show what the error is and what my current Installation Details look like. Let me know if there's any other information I could provide.
Thanks in advance.
Aaron-
Open the 'Error log' view, you probably see the stack of the NPE.
Then try to google the solution.
