I need to apply a background color to a whole column when a custom editor is opened on a cell. I am using:

But this is only affecting the cell currently being edited, and not the whole column, which is what I need. I'm using Angular 4+
You need to add this to your colDef for the column, as opposed to setting it dynamically, note that this property can also be a callback so you can dynamically adjust your styling.

Is it possible to have a grid column containing multiple types inside of it based on the value of a cell? Where each cell is rendered based on value. For instance, with in the same column a cell could be of type 'text' or 'datetime' or 'list' etc... and for each type I can use built in inline-editing? See image illustration below. Basically a key/value editor where the value column need to contain more than one 'type. Please post a sample answer.
It's possible, but you cannot rely on standard funtionality.
The idea of a w2grid is to assign a renderer to a column and render all cells of the same column in the same way.
You could implement a render function for your column and then generate the HTML for each cell based on those arguments:

Although it was a hack solution I ended up creating multiple grids aligned vertically each with a property & value column but the value column's 'type' attribute is different for each grid based on the w2ui framework out of box functionality I Desired for it. Each Grid is also separated by the header without padding to give it a feel like it is one grid. See Image below. now obviously the draw back of this is you cannot sort on all the fields but this is not required in my use case.
I know how I can change the colour of a cell with the help of conditional formatting. But I would like to use a formula to achieve the following goal.
If a value <5.00% is entered into A2 via a formula, I want it to be displayed in Red 3. If it is >=5.00%, I would like it to be displayed in Green 3. Analogously, the same is true for A3/A4/A5 compared with B3/B4/B5.
STYLE is used for background colours.
I have also stumbled upon this solution, but it is suited for text replacement and not for my purpose. After creating two new custom styles, I have tried =T(STYLE(IF(A2<B2;"Red_if_lesser";"Green_if_greater_or_equal"))), but it has delivered an error (Err:522). What do I have to add to this formula in order to make it work?
For conditional formatting, it doesn’t matter if the cell value is calculated or it’s a fixed value. All you need to do is to define the appropriate rules for conditional formatting. In your case, you'll have to define two rules, one for current values < plan values, and one forcurrent values >= plan values. To change the font colour, define two new cell styles (can be done inside the conditional formatting dialogue), with an appropriate font colour:

Start defining the conditional formatting:
First rule: Cell value is less than B2 – apply a new style:

I'm new to GWT and trying to understand it, but have encountered with a problem. When I try to add column style to the specified column in the table
table.getColumnFormatter().addStyleName(column, "columnStyle");
it doesn't take effect, but when I apply this style to each cell in the column
table.getCellFormatter().addStyleName(row, column, "columnStyle");
it works fine. Why I can not apply the style to the whole column?
It's possible that you're adding unsupported CSS elements to <col>, it only accepts backgrounds, width and borders CSS properties, whereas a <td> can accept many more.
In GWT, I am using CellTable.
When you mouse over the CellTable it highlights each row.
How do change the behavior of the highlighting from the mouse over? Specifically:
change the color of highlighting
disable/enable
make it highlight only the specific grid item at your cursor (instead of the entire row)
( The current hack I have is to create a bunch of 1 column wide CellTables and add them to a VerticalPanel layout... creating the illusion that there is one CellTable and it highlights each grid according to your cursor. Is this bad? Why? performance? )
You will notice the CellTable uses a ResourceBundle, which means all the css styles get obfuscated ... this makes it more difficult to override styles.
The CellTable constructor will actually allow you to override the default ResourceBundle. So first, you need to create your own resource bundle like this:

It is important to note that the cell table differentiates between the 'selected row' and the 'keyboard selected row'. The selected row is the actual row selected (ie via SelectionModel). The keyboard selected row refers to what is highlighted when the user is pressing the up / down key, but does not mean the row is actually selected (if that makes sense).
I'll just add for number 2) on your list, you can simply do
cellList.setSkipRowHoverStyleUpdate(true)
That completely disables highlighting. There are also two more setSkip-functions on CellList related to hovering.

To disable highlighting just set the hover CSS property to nothing.
Possibly - try tweaking the .cellTableSelectedRow and .cellTableSelectedRowCell.

I am trying to create a simple GUI with table containing x and y coordinates of samples. I use treeview, and I want the cells of the table to be editable by user. Is it possible to specify if the cells should be editable directly in Glade in cellrenderer properties, or do I have to specify it in my code? I use Glade 3.6.1
I have just found out that unticking box "Editable" in the Tree View Editor when editing my treeview, enables me to specify whether the cells shall be editable or not, because if the box is unticked, the cells editable property is no longer connected with the model.
But if I run the program, cells are editable, but the value that I write inside disappears. How can I fix that? Why doesn't the cell store the value I type inside?

For anyone dealing with a similar problem, I have solved it - whenever a cell is edited, appropriate record in the model needs to be changed, example code in Python:

I found I had to do something just a little different, but I am also using Ubuntu's Quickly development environment. I did have to go into Glade and uncheck the "Editable" box in my cellrenderer, which then brought up a toggable "Yes/No" button. Then my code looks like:

for python GTK, by default, text in Gtk.CellRendererText widgets is not editable, you can change this by setting the value of the “editable” property to True:
