Every command I input in Maple it also attach Typesetting:-mparsed(...),like this:
solve(x^2-2*x+1 = 0, x)

etc.

Make sure that you have the latest point-release update. For example, for Maple 2018, the latest is 2018.2.1 available here.
The problem is related to 2D Output, and in particular to "typesetting" of that. It may help for you to change from the default typesetting level of extended to the (previous version's default) of standard.
You can set that via the menus as a persistent preference, or you can set that programmatically for the current session.
Using the menubar, choose Tools -> Options -> Display and then toggle the Output display combo-box from Extended to Standard. Then close the preferences dialogue by clicking the button Apply Globally. Then close the Maple GUI, and relaunch.
To set it programmatically for the current session, you can issue the command,
interface(typesetting=standard):
And then try your examples once again.
Are you using an internationalized version of Maple, with a particular locale?
Or, perhaps you are using the Japanese version? In that case make sure you get the right point-release download, as there is one specifically for the Japanese version.
If you really want the typesetting=extended mode, and the latest point-release still has the problem, you could contact Maplesoft's customer support.

Is it possible to force Quick Open to take a query from the current selection in the editor?

The current editor I have open contains the name of a file or part of the name of a file that I have in my workspace. I want to search for that file by selecting the text of that name from the editor, and then putting that text in the Quick Open search box. Currently, I need to manually copy and paste the text, but I want to have behaviour similar to the cmd + F search box where the selected text from the editor immediately appears in the search bar when it is opened. Is it possible to configure Quick Open to do this as well? Or maybe there is an extension for this?
At the time of this writing, this is currently not configurable.
If you look in the settings, all the settings that allow enabling or disabling this behaviour contain the word "seed" in them: search.seedOnFocus, search.seedWithNearestWord, editor.find.seedSearchStringFromSelection. From my reading/searching, there is no other setting with the word "seed" in it.
I googled "github vscode issues quickopen seed" and found this GitHub feature-request on the VS Code GitHub repo: Fuzzy quick open should use selected text as a starting point #59957 asking for such behaviour to be the default behaviour. The issue didn't get enough support from other users to get added to their backlog (a feature request needs to get a certain number of thumbs up reactions from users within a certain time period after it is created to get considered for implementation), so that feature-request is now closed.
If you want to get such a configuration option, create a feature-request issue ticket. If you want to increase your feature-request's visibility (and therefore its chance of getting enough user support), share a link to it on various programming platforms such as r/vscode.
I didn't find any extensions that do this by googling "vscode marketplace quick open seed" and looking at the top results, but maybe you'll have better luck with different queries.

Unity C#: How to rebind buttons via script while game is running?

Title says it all, I'd like to implement a controls menu so the player can rebind controls, which changes the positive input key of a button in the Input Manager. But I can't find anything about it online.
How would I go about changing the positive key for a button while ingame?
Unfortunately, I believe you can't set Input Manager values via code at all. That's probably why you didn't find anything about it.
You've got two alternatives:
Use the "Input System" aka. the new input system that is available as a package. It is not as easy to use as the legacy input system, but you should check it out. It's also open source.
Use an asset store package. I've tested Rewired in the past and found it extremely powerful, especially compared to the legacy input system.
Personally, I'd first go with option 1 and see if you are happy with it. It's an official package and not 3rd party. Option 2 is still there, if you have issues with option 1, but it'll probably cost you money.

Test for compatibility in Matlab

I'm working with an open source Matlab toolbox which, according to its creators, is compatible for versions of Matlab over 7.6, i.e., R2008a. I tried to run it in R2011b and it threw the exception: Undefined variable "Simulink" or class "Simulink.Mask.create"
Since:
1- Simulink is installed and functional in this R2011b;
2- I have already run the same code in a R2014b successfully;
I conclude that this is a problem of compatibility -In contrast to their claim, their code is compatible for some version later than R2011b-.
I wish I could contribute with them by directly telling them, not only that their code is not compatible with Matlab 7.6, but also the earliest version in which the statement associated with Simulink.Mask.create would run.
So, in precise terms, MY QUESTION IS: Given a command, built-in function, namespace resolution sequence, or whatever feature that I can find in some version of Matlab, what is the way of knowing what is the earliest version in which that feature is active?
I have tried http://www.mathworks.com/help/simulink/release-notes.html which is not searchable or navigable the way I wish it was.
This is a common problem. This page talks of the same problem - claiming that there is no good solution... It does however come with a smart way of searching through the release notes:
Click on the bottommost unexpanded release, to expand the it.
Click on "expand all" all link to expand all link just below.
If any unexpanded releases remain goto 1.
Now use the browser search functionality (often ctrl+f) to search the fully expanded page.

I don't think there is a straightforward way to find what you want.
In my opinion you have to do it manually for each version of MATLAB
in order to find is certain feature supported or not.
Some feature may be obsolete or may exist a bug.
So the best way to do is :
A) Look at particular version of relase notes, for example ,let say R2011a
New Features, Bug Fixes, Compatibility Considerations
click on "expand all", then use find "your keyword" in your browser
( be careful about case sensitivity)
You also have "Compatibility Summary", search it, too.
B) If something is very important and you are sure there is an issue
just email to customer service and ask for further steps
and who may contact further.

Writing a macro-like tool

Recently I've been finding myself doing repetitive tasks. I would click button A, highlight text field A, type in some text, click an APPLY button, click on a drop-down box and select a specific option depending on the item I'm working with, select it and hit APPLY, then repeat this process only a couple hundred to thousand times.
So I thought maybe there's a way I could automate this? Macros then came to mind. However I've never wrote macros before so am not sure of several details such as
-what tools should I even work with?
-how do I determine which button to click?
-ideally, I would want to be able to read input from a text file to specify what should be typed in and which option should be selected from the dropdown list. Is this even possible? It seems like an operation that require some intelligence.
I am not picky on tools nor about cleanliness. I just want to be able to automate the process. It will be for personal use unless I find a convenient way such that others can use it as well.
Some details about the dropdown box: when the box is focused, I can hit the DOWN key to scroll from option to option. The items that I have to associate with these options are named exactly the same, so they appear in the same "index" order (meaning, the first item and first option appear at the top of the list, second item and second option appear after, thid item and third option...etc)
The placement of all of these fields can be fixed, so if I have to manually specify where on the screen I should be clicking, that is also a possibility.
Any idea where I should look?

On the Mac, there is Automator. Java has the Robot class in the basic library, to help with such automation. No doubt there are other similar tools.

Is it possible to make the auto-complete in netbeans not depend on a key-combination?

Is it possible to make the code-completion on Netbeans automatic, like on Aptana or Visual Studio?
I've noticed that Netbeans can sometimes take a while to populate the list, so this might be asking a bit too much, but if possible, I'd like to somehow enable it.
The onlything I've found in the options is the ability to set a custom key-combo, but not to make this automatic.
I know that if you wait a bit, the auto-completion shows up anyway, but I want it to be without delay.
It appears there is a setting in some NetBeans versions that sets the delay for the popup window.
Choose Tools | Options
Choose Advanced Options
Open the Editing and then Editor Settings folders
Select Java Editor and find the Delay of Completion Window Auto Popup property
Enter a new Delay value in milliseconds (default is 250).

The problem is that this article is a couple years old, so I opened NetBeans (6.1) on my computer and looked for the property but it didn't exist for the Java Editor (It did for other editors like the XML Editor). This leads me to believe my version is newer than the one in the article and the delay property no longer exists for the Java Editor (checking couldn't hurt though).
So instead, I decided to test the delay. I made a sample project, imported and instantiated a list, and then went to call a method. I stopped at the dot to let NetBeans offer suggestions and it was basically immediate (no noticeable delay). It is at this point, I am wondering if the delay you are experiencing is due purely to performance of the computer, especially since you indicate this occurs "sometimes". It is possible that you are looking at rather large classes, and NetBeans is taking extra time to look up the completions. You could try and test to see if this is true or not by testing code completion on a known large class. The other possibility is your computer is not as fast, or is doing work for another program at the same time. You can try and test this by restarting the computer, opening only NetBeans (to maximize resources to NetBeans), and try some code completions. If either exhibit noticeably faster delays, this is most likely the problem.

I think I found a solution. I set up autocomplete keyboard shortcuts for all letters and #, it seems to work. In some cases there is a small lag, but it doesn't prevent you from typing. It took about 5 minutes to add those shortcuts.
I tried to get the desired feature by adding the alphabet to the completion selectors. It worked somewhat, you can always try it.
