I am using Eclipse Mars for SAP cloud application development. I added the SAP plug ins successfully. Now when I am adding a Java Web as a server runtime using the Java Web Sdk, it is throwing an error "server error Java /sql /time". When I see the log file it says Noclassdeffounderror for Java. Sql. Time. Could anyone help.
Regards,
Nayeem
Eclipse Mars is tremendously outdated. You should use Oxygen for SAP Cloud development and fulfill all necessary prerequisites for it.

Trial version SAP HANA Cloud Platform Cockpit
Please forgive me if the question sounds naive but I'm been a .NET Developer for past few years, and I'm trying to learn SAP Hana Cloud technology.
I've learned that you have to develop code on Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers in order deploy to the Trial version SAP HANA Cloud Platform
I was trying to use Tomcat 8.5 in my local development environment.
How can I add the the Apache Tomcat v8.5 icon taht is missing from the list within the "New Server Run Time Environment"?
The version of Eclipse WTP that supports Tomcat 8.5 is not out yet and is expected in the 1st maintenance release.
If you need it sooner, you can find instructions on how to get it to run in this bug report: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=494936
How does one deploy a web app from Eclipse Mars to a local install of IBM Websphere Application Server Developer 8.5 ?
I installed the app server from IBM's Installation Manager, upon completion it says its location is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01
I tested the app itself using the "First Steps" window which popped up after install, and it looks like it is running fine.
Now, I want to test creating a simple hello world web application in Eclipse Mars, and be able to deploy it to this installed Websphere instance and be able to debug (stop at breakpoints). However, I can't seem to figure this part out.
When I go to my Servers tab in Eclipse and attempt to add a Websphere server, I didn't have any options. So I started downloading some IBM Websphere Developer Tools that I could find. I managed to now have these options for adding server:
"WebSphere Application Server Liberty"
"WebSphere Application Server traditional V8.5"
I tried using both, but they don't seem to be compatible with my installed version of WebSphere, because I keep getting the error of "The WebSphere Application Server traditional installation directory is not correct." when I try to plug in the Installation directory.
I suspect I should have a separate option for
"WebSphere Application Server developer V8.5"
or such, however no matter what I search for online, in the Eclipse marketplace, in the Eclipse sites, I can't find anything to install that gives me that option.
You have to use "WebSphere Application Server traditional V8.5" and point it to the installation root not the profile root - so to C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer in your case.
For the future, it is not recommended to install WebSphere in the Program Files (x86) folder, I'd suggest something simpler like c:\IBM.
I used the below link Eclipse Mars WAS Plugin . Not sure it still works. For Oxygen working version use Eclipse Oxygen WAS Plugin
After that I logged in to the Openshift from Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web, I'm getting the following error:
Could not load applications, cartridges and gears
Could not request https://hub.openshift.com/api/v1/quickstarts/promoted.json: javax.net.ssl.SSLException:
java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not generate DH keypair
Do you know how I can fix it?

Could be a JDK version problem. Refer to the link above.
I am starting to develop WebApp using Spring Framework. For that I know I have to use Spring Tool Suite. I went to the Eclipse site for downloads but I am having trouble knowing wich of the four types of downloads suggested in the page below should I choose, sicnce none of them seem to have Spring in its features ?
http://spring.io/tools/eclipse
Any help ?
Just for your consideration I wrote the following tutorials about STS
Installing Spring Tool Suite
Configuring Apache Maven
Getting Started: IDE & Projects
Configuring The Java Working Set
Structuring The Workspace
Complete and more detailed tutorials, available here: Spring Tutorial
Spring Tool Suite is a different download. It can be found here: http://spring.io/tools/sts .
Unless you are using Java EE which btw stands for Enterprise Edition,
I'd recommend just going with
Eclipse Luna -> Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
In addition to the full distribution downloads on http://spring.io/tools/sts (they are ready-to-use Eclipse distributions with pre-installed Spring tooling) you can also use an Eclipse installation and go to the Eclipse Marketplace to install the Spring tooling into your Eclipse instance.
I am taking my first steps developing web apps using Eclipse, Java EE, Hibernate, spring and hsqldb.
I installed the Helios version of Eclipse and installed WTP through the updater. But trying to install the plugins for others, I am having doubts.
Hibernate:
I tried the download jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/stable/ as the hostname in updater and it shows
JBoss Tools - 3.0.3.v200910211631N-H194-GA
JBoss Tools Integration for TPTP, BIRT - 3.0.3.v200910211631N-H194-GA
in the list.Which am I supposed to install?Where is the hibernate plugin?
hsqldb:
when I googled ,I got these links
sourceforge.net/projects/hsqldb-plugin/
Is this the one?what is the update host name I am supposed to give to eclipse?
spring:
i tried springide.org/updatesite/ .It shows a list of some 10 or more items..What should I select?core /spring IDE?
The HSQLDB plugin for eclipse is an extension that can be added from within eclipse. See here for details on how to set up and use.
