I have a UITable view where you can add items by pressing a button. I want its cells to be clear, I already made its background semitransparent, but once you click on the button that allows you to save the items in it, the first you save has a white background. Then, if you press the button other times, all of the cells, except for the last created, become semitransparent, but one continues to be white. This is my code, how could I make it completely clear?
extension ViewController : UITableViewDataSource {
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, numberOfRowsInSection section: Int) -> Int {
return number.count
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
let textCell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "WordCell", for: indexPath)
textCell.textLabel?.text = "\(indexPath.row + 1) \(number[indexPath.row])"
let semitransparentBlack = UIColor(rgb: 0x000000).withAlphaComponent(0.3)
textCell.layer.backgroundColor = semitransparentBlack.cgColor
textCell.textLabel?.layer.backgroundColor = semitransparentBlack.cgColor
textCell.textLabel?.textColor = UIColor.white
return textCell
}
}
You can set the color using textCell.backgroundColor = semitransparentBlack

I have tableview cell with a textfield but when I add new row and scroll tableview up or down disappeared textfield values deleted. I make lots of research about that previous question about that in 2015 and its not answered correctly. How can I fix this issue? How can I use textfield delegate method if it is working for this? Here my code:
var i = 0
while i <= taskArrForRead.count {
let indexPath = IndexPath(row: i, section: 0)
let cell = self.tableView.cellForRow(at: indexPath) as? taslakDuzenlemeCell
if let item = cell?.taslakTextField.text! {
arrayOfNames.append(item)
}
i = i + 1
}
In this code I get all textfield values from tableview but if tableview scroll disappeared values turn with default values. How can I fix it? Thanks.
Here my tableview code:
extension taslakOlusturmaController: UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource, UITextFieldDelegate {
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, numberOfRowsInSection section: Int) -> Int {
return taskArrForRead.count
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "taslakCell", for: indexPath) as! taslakDuzenlemeCell
cell.taslakTextField.text = taskArrForRead[indexPath.item]
cell.taslakTextField.delegate = self
return cell
}
func textFieldDidEndEditing(_ textField: UITextField) {
print(textField.text!)
self.arrayOfNames.append(textField.text!)
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, didEndDisplaying cell: UITableViewCell, forRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) {
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "taslakCell", for: indexPath) as! taslakDuzenlemeCell
cell.taslakTextField.text = taskArrForRead[indexPath.item]
print(arrayOfNames[indexPath.item])
}
}
With textfield delegate method I can get deleted textfield values but I can't bring it again to textfield. User can't see value after scroll again also I can get deleted values with didEndDisplaying cell method too.
You could use the method PrepareForReuse to set the text back when the cell recreated again.
The table cell is running shorter than it is supposed to be. (I use different background colour which shows difference width) The setting of cell is custom (only row height is change to 140). The playerCell class has nothing but some IBoutlets. Thanks.
(image: storyboard
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, numberOfRowsInSection section: Int) -> Int {
var count: Int
if playerBank.count == 0
{
count = 1
}
else{
count = playerBank.count
}
return count
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
let cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "cell", for: indexPath) as! playerCell
if playerBank.isEmpty{
let p = Player()
playerBank = setInvalidPlayer(pBank: p, userInput: userInputPlayerName)
}
let playerInBank: Player = playerBank[indexPath.row]
passImageUrl = cell.setPlayerCell(p: playerInBank)
urlBank.append(passImageUrl)
let bgColorView = UIView()
bgColorView.backgroundColor = UIColor.red
cell.selectedBackgroundView = bgColorView
return cell
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, didSelectRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) {
myIndex = indexPath.row
DispatchQueue.main.async {
self.performSegue(withIdentifier: "ShowPlayerInfo", sender: self)
}
}
My first guess is that, while you have a custom cell with custom outlets, that there are no layout constraints in place. So the items that you put into the storyboard are retaining their intrinsic values and not adapting to the device screen size.
If you add constraints to those outlets, especially enough to where the width of the cell can be determined based on the rest of the elements, then your cell should display full width.
I want to send data to a tableview in a another view controller to cells 1, 2, 3,etc everytime I hit the button to transfer the data. I can send the text from the label to transfer to the tableView only to the first cell. but when i go back I want that cell to keep the text and then save the new label text in the second cell and then go on and on.Thanks
This is the code from the second view controller where the tableView is. right now its only working for the first cell.
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, numberOfRowsInSection section: Int) -> Int {
return data.count
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
var cell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "cell")!
cell.textLabel?.text = data[indexPath.row]
return cell
}
after couple of days struggling I wanted to ask you about UIButton title and image edge insets...
I have custom cell with button and on that button depends on cell type should be different icons and text but the requirement text should be centered and image could be left aligned or right. For that I'm setting edge insets during updating button tile and image. To keep it simple I hard coded image insets left to be 8 and the calculating left point of title from which text should start.
func setTitleWithImage(_ title: String, imageName: String) {
self.btnStatus.setTitle(title, for: .normal)
self.btnStatus.setImage(UIImage(named: imageName), for: .normal)
self.btnStatus.imageEdgeInsets.left = 8
let btnWidth = btnStatus.frame.width
let titleLabelWidth = btnStatus.titleLabel?.frame.width
self.btnStatus.titleEdgeInsets.left = (btnWidth / 2) - (titleLabelWidth! / 2) - (btnStatus.imageView?.frame.width)! + self.btnStatus.imageEdgeInsets.left
}
The problem is that when tableview loaded it is wrong aligned but after scrolling/redraw cell it is aligned correctly. I tried different suggestions but no one helped me.
Before scroll
After scroll
To be more specific here the whole project.

I have a tableview with cells that when selected displays an image within the selected cell, this image then disappears when the cell is selected again, and so on. When i press a submit button the selected cells are remembered and the tableview reloads with new data. But when doing this all the new data loads but the selected cell image persists. I have tried calling tableView.reloadData() on the main queue but it still persists. The image also persists when i press the submit button several times.
Heres my code:
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, numberOfRowsInSection section: Int) -> Int {
return currentQuestion.answers.count
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, heightForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> CGFloat {
return tableView.frame.height/CGFloat(currentQuestion.answers.count)
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) -> UITableViewCell {
setSelectedArray()
let cell: AnswersTableViewCell = tableView.dequeueReusableCell(withIdentifier: "answersTableViewCell") as! AnswersTableViewCell
let text = currentQuestion.answers[indexPath.row]
let isAnAnswer = currentQuestion.answerKeys[indexPath.row]
cell.answerTextLabel.text = text
cell.answerView.backgroundColor = UIColor.white.withAlphaComponent(0.5)
cell.contentView.sendSubview(toBack: cell.answerView)
return cell
}
func tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, didSelectRowAt indexPath: IndexPath) {
if let cell: AnswersTableViewCell = tableView.cellForRow(at: indexPath) as? AnswersTableViewCell {
if cell.answerImageView.image == nil {
cell.answerImageView.image = UIImage(named: "paw.png")
selected[indexPath.row] = true
} else {
cell.answerImageView.image = nil
selected[indexPath.row] = false
}
}
}
#IBAction func submitButtonWasPressed() {
if questionNumber < questions.count - 1 {
questionNumber += 1
setCurrentQuestion()
self.answersTableView.reloadData()
self.view.setNeedsDisplay()
}
}
Any help would be great. Thanks
You need to set the image back to its correct value in cellForRow. Cells in your table are reused between calls to reloadData, and since you're not touching the imageView, it's keeping its previous value. Looks to me like you want:
cell.answerImageView.image = selected[indexPath.row] ? UIImage(named: "paw.png") : nil
inside of tableView(_ tableView: UITableView, cellForRowAt indexPath: IndexPath).
