How to pass dynamic values to Apigee with key? - rest

I have a rest application that pulls data from database based on the user choice of City or County via UI.
The city, and county are dynamically passed in as the user is able to choose all 50 states.
The endpoints are like this:
http://localhost:8080/my-api/state/FL/City
http://localhost:8080/my-api/state/FL/County
http://localhost:8080/my-api/state/CA/City
http://localhost:8080/my-api/state/AK/County
etc...etc....
Now I want to secure these endpoints using Apigee along with a key. I have created the proxy and product and able to get json from application with my new Apigee URL:
https://company.api-nonprod.com/my-first-api/state/TX/City?apikey=ldekQ5VqlXFQq7YusetSeqbeidxdo5
So far so good. :)
Now I need to add this EndPoint to the front end configuration file.
My local endpoint worked fine.
http://localhost:8080/my-api/state
How do I add this new Apigee Endpoint and key?
This doesn't work as it keeps appending the parameters to the end of url instead of before the apikey.
https://company.api-nonprod.com/my-first-api/state?apikey=ldekQ5VqlXFQq7YusetSeqbeidxdo5
error url
https://company.api-nonprod.com/my-first-api/state?apikey=ldekQ5VqlXFQq7YusetSeqbeidxdo5/TX/City
After going over the Apigee documentation I made my way to the Develop tab in which I can specify how the APIKey can be referenced.
<VerifyAPIKey name="APIKeyVerifier">
<APIKey ref="request.formparam.x-apikey"/>
</VerifyAPIKey>
<VerifyAPIKey name="APIKeyVerifier">
<APIKey ref="request.header.x-apikey"/>
</VerifyAPIKey>
<VerifyAPIKey name="APIKeyVerifier">
<APIKey ref="request.queryparam.x-apikey"/>
</VerifyAPIKey>
Now I'm stuck in AssignMessage message documentation.
How do I pass dynamic values to Apigee with key?

You have to handle constructing URL in your application.
Try to hit from postman.. have your proxy url and your requestMapping appened with your proxy url.
it should work, or it would have worked by this time ;) , since two months gone :P

What is the workflow for a basic Auth OIDC with Keycloak

I have keycloak on docker (v20.0.2) and as you know some versions change some or good part of the UI, so is hard to follow tutorials around the web...
I am trying to follow this particular tuto
https://developers.redhat.com/blog/2020/11/24/authentication-and-authorization-using-the-keycloak-rest-api#keycloak_sso_demo
that seems the more updated. My keycloak is actually behind traeffic and thomseddon/traeffic-fordward-auth with a docker-compose file (but the connection through traeffic is good and I have acces to admin UI)
So on step 10 of the tutorial things change for me, I have to look for that particular view inside:
Click on lateral menu Client Scope
Click on button Create client scope
Give a name to the scope, and click on Tab Mapper
All mappers are predefined... so there is no "New mapper" don't understand this bit
then just follow the tuto
With that series of steps I get an error when retriving the token...
https://keycloak:8443/realms/education/protocol/openid-connect/token
enter image description here
(this are fake local data from the realm I created for testing)
that responds with a or something similar I have also tried to change the grant_type to password, and the same happens can not query the token....
{
"error": "invalid_client",
"error_description": "Invalid client or Invalid client credentials"
}
But if I do not link a user with an scope/role as in the tuto suggest then I get the token, but of course I want to use the role or scope to limit who can see which endpoint and who can not
Any step that I'm missing from this update, do you have the same error?
Thank you in advance
I have tried to run it with different combinations of options to see if there is a toggle that actually allows me to fetch the token
Also with different types of grant_type
I will build an API in Python (I don't know Java and prefer Json instead of XML) that connect to this keycloak to allow users or not based on their scope/role/permission or something
I need to be able to block user so if user Student try to access an url from another Student he get blocked that url. So is based on the role or scope or I don't know which is prefered or easer to accomplish, the mission is to block users or not based on a factor that could be used for this in keycloak.

Azure data factory pagination doesn't work

I am working on a pipeline which executes oAuth2 flow in order to access REST API json data. Once I have the bearer token I am executing a request which returns the following structure:
As you can see, since the response is quite large, there's paging enabled and as part of the response I get a link to the next page. In order to get to that resource I need to also present MS-ContinuationToken in the headers. So, this is how I basically do it in the config of the Copy activity that I use to get the data from the REST endpoint:
and the issue here is that I only get the first 2000 rows and the next page(s) don't seem to be visited at all. Pipeline executes successfully and only the first 2000 items are fetched.
NOTE: continuationToken and links.next.headers.value have the exact same values from the initial response.
Even if you fix the other issue you’ll have an issue with the “next” URL not including “v1”. This is a known issue in the partner center api team. I’ve escalated it pretty high. But they don’t want to break backwards compatibility by changing the “next” URI to include the v1 or to be relative. They are considering other options but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
I would ditch the idea of using data factory and instead write a .NET console app using the partner center SDK
(You might think to paginate manually with loops etc but the Copy activity doesn’t return eg the http headers, so you will need a complex set up to somehow store the data in a data store and be able to look up the last page in order to get the continuation token. I couldn’t figure it out)

Hiding fusion charts license

I have a purchased license at fusion charts. Fusion charts document says here... https://www.fusioncharts.com/dev/upgrading/license-activation that i have to use this function call for applying license...
FusionCharts.options.license({
key: 'KEY_GOES_HERE',
creditLabel: false,
});
if i put my key in that anyone visiting my website can easily take it from view -> source of browser. how do i avoid it ? It is simple HTML website.
You can use either of the followings :
Instead of passing the keys directly in JS code, pass them via the environment, application variables. And add the env file to gitignore
Use Obfuscation for the key and JS code being used for license activation.
You can store the value of the key in your database & and fetch the data value so that the end-user is unable to access it.
If you know the domain/sub-domains where charts will be used, you can restrict the license keys to those domains by sending a request to sales#fusioncharts.com
As far as I know, there is no way to completely hide it from the frontend. The reason for this is that even if the key is hidden in some way when the request is made, the information has to exist and so the key could be found by looking at the request data.
What you wish to protect against determines how you should go about it. If you would just like to hide it from being picked up by webscrapers, then I would imagine encrypting it and then decrypting it before you send would be sufficient.
If you would like to protect against anyone stealing it, then the only way is to have a server act as a proxy. You would make a call to an API which would then use your API key on the backend, away from the prying eyes of users. Your backend API would then just return to the user the response from fusioncharts.

Google GTMAppAuth Redirect URL

I am using the Google GTMAppAuth with my swift project for authorisation. The thing is, I don't know what to put as a Rediret URL. I couldn't find anything on stack or anywhere else about what it is supposed to be. I am new to the google api so help would be appreciated.
After Successful creation of oauth2 credentials (https://console.developers.google.com/projectselector/apis/credentials) you will get client ID for your project.
Follow the below instructions...
kRedirectURI is reverse DNS notation form of the client ID. For example, if the client ID is YOUR_CLIENT.apps.googleusercontent.com, the reverse DNS notation would be com.googleusercontent.apps.YOUR_CLIENT. A path component is added resulting in com.googleusercontent.apps.YOUR_CLIENT:/oauthredirect.
Finally, open Info.plist and fully expand "URL types" (a.k.a. "CFBundleURLTypes") and replace com.googleusercontent.apps.YOUR_CLIENT with the reverse DNS notation form of your client id (not including the :/oauthredirect path component).
Once you have made those three changes, the sample should be ready to try with your new OAuth client.

Why GWT URL doesn't change on an event or a service call?

I have two questions:
Q: 1
I'm currently developing a GWT app. The entry point for the app is: ImageViewer.java. I could well access it by http://127.0.0.1:8888/ImageViewer.html?gwt.codesvr=127.0.0.1:9997. I have a service called "Search" which has corresponding "Async" and "Impl"'s defined. Now, I call the service from client side, using RPC. I could call the service, obtain return value. Everything works fine.
However, I expect the application to show a behavioral change on URL. i.e. when a service is being accessed, I thought it would be reflected on the browser's URL something like: http://127.0.0.1:8888/search?gwt.codesvr=127.0.0.1:9997 as I've modified web.xml. However, this behavior is not realized. Any particular reason why this is not reflected??
Q:2
This one is a reverse of the previous ques. i.e. I have an application running. Let's say it has an entrypoint class(Imageviewer.java) and another composite class (searchClass.java) which would be loaded on the Imageviewer based on an event. This searchClass invokes the "search" service mentioned in the previous question.
I could load the "searchClass" in "Imageviewer", invoke the service, and the service also returns the value needed. Everything works fine... But,
I need something like this: by just typing this query string:
http://127.0.0.1:8888/search?value=John
I want the "searchClass" to be loaded on the "ImageViewer", call the service using the value(which is "john" in this case) and display the result. Is this possible at all?
what I've tried: I have tried to create a httpServletClass on the server and mapped it with the URL and could do the search. The search returns appropriate results. However, I want the results from the server to be displayed on the client. Remember, I'm directly using a servlet to read the URL and so there is no value being passed from client to server.
Thanks in advance.
A: 1. To change URL, the hash part, you need to set new history token in the History class. More about history management in this article.
A: 2. For the second part you could achieve it by changing the history token, for instance "http://127.0.0.1/search#value=John". The history service will trigger an event if the # part changes. You could also use the part with "?", as in your example, if you use Window.Location , but it will cause reload of the application, which would put the whole idea of using GWT in question.
RPC (AJAX) calls are done Via XHR and do not change the browser URL.
You can't (with the URL you presented). GWT apps normally run in one web page, i.e. the URL does not change (see how gmail changes browser url bar). What you can do is enable GWT history support. Then your url would be http://host/#search?value=queryu
