I have a bot that I am building with the help of the Microsoft Bot Framework. I can see that session.message.user.id gives us the user id and session.message.user.name gives us the user name but if I am to connect it with Facebook, how do I get the user's email?
Thanks for your help in advance
The only way is to specifically ask the user for their email and then for example save it in user data in the bot.
Facebook (luckily) doesn't give out users' emails to bots. A normal Facebook app, on the other hand, might get it.

I'm trying the recent released Facebook Messenger Platform and so far so good. Everything worked well and I was able to create a echo bot.
But I'm wondering how I could identify this user that started chatting in my page. For example, when a user started chatting I get a PID user (page specific user id).
Making the follow request to Facebook Graph API:
GET https://graph.facebook.com/v2.6/{PAGE_SPECIFIC_USER_ID}
I discovered that I can just ask for the following fields: first_name,last_name and profile_pic.
So my question is, how could I discover if this user is a current customer of my business page? Is there another way of querying more information (like e-mail and real facebook user id)?
Facebook has updated the messenger platform API (2016-07-01) and introduced a new feature called Account Linking. This can be used to identify a user who has created an account on your website via Facebook Login and you can link the two accounts. Facebook login has its own set of permissions which can be used to get a lot more information via Facebook graph API. You can find the complete list here.
Currently, there's no way to do this. The best way would be to prompt the user to enter their information in chat or give them a link to a mobile login page or some other way of linking their account to the chat.
Messenger Platform 2.0 introduce "ID Matching API" ,that will solve the problem.

you can retreive a user information like below using fbmq library https://github.com/conbus/fbmq
# this method will occur when a message received from user
#page.handle_message
def message_handler(event):
user_profile = page.get_user_profile(event.sender_id)
print(user_profile) #first_name, last_name, profile_pic, gender ...
Good Evening, i'm just asking how to get a user's friends emails using face book API or something else, the scenario i want to use this feature in goes as follows, my application has a feature called 'import facebook friends' that will do the following:
- verifies that this user has a valid facebook account
- asks him for his facebook identifier(email)
- from his identifier get all his friends and get everyone's email
i don't know if there's any API that performs this functionality?
You can get almost all details about friends like their photos,interests, status updates but not email address.
From Facebook Email Permission Page : "Note: There is no way for apps to obtain email addresses for a user's friends."
To get a user's email address, you need the user_email permission. However, there is no equivalent friends_email permission to get Friends' email addresses as Facebook doesn't allow applications to get these.
Instead, you the Facebook User ID to link friends together. That is the correct way to do things, since the email address can change anyway.
I am new to iphone.my question is How to get all email id's of friends which are in friendsList from facebook while using Graph API in iPhone? I am able to get all the pictures,name,first name and last name of the friends which are in friends list except the email id's how can we do this If any body know this please help me.IF any body provide some code for this it will be helpful for me....
You can't, e-mail addresses aren't available via API for friends due to privacy risks.
See the facebook Permissions Reference.
It is simply not possible to get the email addresses of Facebook users other than the user of your app (ie. the person who authorizes your app and for whom you get an access_token), not even Friends of the user. Even extended permissions won’t help here.
i was trying to find out how many emails could an app send to a registered user through the facebook platform
I've seen the "notification.sendemail" docs and the "admin.getAllocation" docs, i even looked at the settings tabs of my facebook app developer page, but haven't been able to find the way to retrieve the total and daily email amount an app could send.
Could someone please help me out?
That API method is deprecated according to the docs; you should ask the user for their email address ( see https://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/permissions/ - email is the one you want ) and email them directly.
