Do have any idea on how to export big data file from DB2 Power 8? Size approximately about 500 million data row.
Came across option to export by text, print and file. print is not an option for me. the text option return me split text files (field). as for file option, i don't have access to set up new library to save the files in DB2.
Used the navigator as well, due to the size, its not responding..

You may try to use DBeaver to connect to DB2.

I have an AS400 with an IBM DB2 database and I need to create a Format Description File (FDF) for each table in the DB. I can create the FDF file using the IBM Export tool but it will only create one file at a time which will take several days to complete. I have not found a way to create the files systematically using a tool or query. Is this possible or should this be done using scripting?
First of all, to correct a misunderstanding...
A Format Description File has nothing at all to do with the format of a Db2 table. It actually describes the format of the data in a stream file that you are uploading into the Db2 table. Sure you can turn on an option during the download from Db2 to create the FDF file, but it's still actually describing the data in the stream file you've just downloaded the data into. You can use the resulting FDF file to upload a modified version of the downloaded data or as the starting point for creating an FDF file that matches the actual data you want to upload.
Which explain why there's no built-in way to create an appropriate FDF file for every table on the system.
I question why you think you actually to generate an FDF file for every table.
As I recall, the format of the FDF (or it's newer variant FDFX) is pretty simple; it shouldn't be all that difficult to generate if you really wanted to. But I don't have one handy at the moment, and my Google-FU has failed me.
how can I export in a CSV file the result of a SELECT query from Mainframe DB2 in Batch mode?
I have tried the FILE MANAGER online mode and it works but I need to use the batch mode for a better performance.
I can also use ISQL but I don't know which parameters I have to use to create a CSV file.

If all else fails and you don't mind a little programming then coding your own program that runs the query and writes CSV is EXTREMELY easy.
I mention this because this might be better for you than relying on some tool.
As you're looking for improved performance I'd suggest you CALL the DSNUTILU stored procedure with the UNLOAD utility using DELIMITED COLDEL ',' and SHRLEVEL CHANGE ISOLATION UR parameters for CSV and to maximise concurrency on your DB2 for z/OS table. There are many other option depending on your requirements.

I rely on SQLDeveloper to edit and export a schema.
It works like a charm, and I can run import with sqlplus.
I have tried using sqlplus to generate the same schema export, with no result.
I cannot use the Oracle expdp tool, because I need an ASCII file to be able to diff it.
So the only option I have is SQLDeveloper.
I would like to automate the export (data + DDL) with a cron job on a Linux box, but I can't find a way to use SQLDeveloper from a command line to generate the export.
Any clue?
Short answer: no.
For just the schema side of things you may want checkout show create table equivalent in oracle sql which will get you the SQL source of the DDL.
Are you sure you want an ASCII file for the automated export of an entire DB though? I would be surprised if you really want to diff an entire export of a DB. This SO Answer may help a little though.
If you really want to get a full data dump plus DDL you will have to write your own script that gets the DDL as described in the first link and then select * and process each result into a sql insert.
After going through similar questions on Stackoverflow, I am unable to find a method where I could export a large CSV file from a query made in MySQL workbench (v 5.2).
The query is about 4 million rows, 8 columns (comes to about 300Mb when exported as a csv file).
Currently I load the entire rows (have see it in the GUI) and use the export option. This makes my machine crash most of the time)
My constraints are:
I am not looking for a solution via bash terminal.
I need to export it to the client machine and not the database server.
Is this drawback of MySQL Workbench?
How do I not see it in GUI but yet export all the rows into a single file?

In order to export to CSV you first have to load all that data, which is a lot to have in a GUI. many controls are simply no made to carry that much data. So your best bet is to avoid GUI as much as possible.
One way could be to run your query outputting to a text window (see Query menu). This is not CSV but at least should work. You can then try to copy out the text into a spreadsheet and convert it to CSV.
If that is too much work try limiting your rows into ranges, say 1 million each, using the LIMIT clause on your query. Lower the size until you have one that can be handled by MySQL Workbench. You will get n CSV files you have to concatenate later. A small application or (depending on your OS) a system tool should be able to strip headers and concatenate the files into one.
I am faced with a situation where we get a lot of CSV files from different clients but there is always some issue with column count and column length that out target table is expecting.
What is the best way to handle frequently changing CSV files. My goal is load these CSV files into Postgres database.
I checked the \COPY command in Postgres but it does have an option to create a table.
You could try creating a pg_dump compatible file instead which has the appropriate "create table" section and use that to load your data instead.
I recommend using an external ETL tool like CloverETL, Talend Studio, or Pentaho Kettle for data loading when you're having to massage different kinds of data.
\copy is really intended for importing well-formed data in a known structure.
