Align a button the bottom center in flutter - flutter

I want to align a button to the bottomcenter of the screen
I created a buttomappbar in a scaffold i want to include a round button but i don't want to use the default fab. Im using another round button and i tried to align the button to the buttomcenter using the Align widget but it stays in the center.
class _MainActivityState extends State<MainActivity> {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(),
backgroundColor: HexColor("ECEDEF"),
bottomNavigationBar: BottomAppBar(
child: Row(
mainAxisSize: MainAxisSize.max,
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.spaceBetween,
children: <Widget>[
Icon(Icons.threed_rotation)
],
),
shape: CircularNotchedRectangle(),
color: Colors.white,
),
body: Container(
height: MediaQuery.of(context).size.height,
child: Align(
alignment: Alignment.bottomCenter,
child: CircularGradientButton(
child: Icon(Icons.gradient),
callback: (){},
gradient: Gradients.rainbowBlue,
shadowColor: Gradients.rainbowBlue.colors.last.withOpacity(0.5),
),
)
)
);
}
}
I want the CircularGradientButton to come to the bottomcenter above the BottomAppBar

With a stack you can achieve that. Set fit property to: StackFit.expand then use a positioned with bottom:0 and width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width.
return Scaffold(
body: Stack(
fit: StackFit.expand,
children: <Widget>[
Positioned(
bottom: 0,
width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width,
child: Center(
child: MaterialButton(
onPressed: () {},
color: Colors.red,
),
),
)
],
),
bottomNavigationBar: BottomAppBar(
child: Row(
mainAxisSize: MainAxisSize.max,
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.spaceBetween,
children: <Widget>[Icon(Icons.threed_rotation)],
),
shape: CircularNotchedRectangle(),
color: Colors.white,
),
);

Flutter position Widget between bottom of screen and safe area

In my app I have a bottomBar which is placed at the bottom right above the SafeArea:
The problem is that I would like to have a white Container at the bottom (red arrow in image) so that for bigger iPhones (where the bottom of the screen IS NOT EQUAL to the safeArea) the empty place in the image if filled white.
For phones where the bottom screen is equal to the safeArea the fillContainerHeight should simply be nil/zero.
This is my setup:
Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.center,
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.end,
// mainAxisSize: MainAxisSize.max,
children: [
SafeArea(
child: Row(
children: [
Expanded(
child: Container(
height: 49,
color: Colors.white,
)),
Container(
height: 49,
child: Image.asset('assets/images/bottomBar.png')),
Expanded(
child: Container(
height: 49,
color: Colors.white,
)),
],
),
),
Container(color: Colors.white) // -> fill container
],
)
Right now the container is not being shown. What is the best way to solve my problem here? I couldn't find anything on this. Let me know if you need any more info!
You could try to use the stack widget like this (the second child (align widget) is positioned above your SafeArea widget):
return Stack(
children: [
SafeArea(
child: Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(),
body: // Your other widgets here
),
),
Align(
alignment: Alignment.bottomCenter,
child: Container(
color: Colors.white,
height: MediaQuery.of(context).padding.bottom;,
),
)
],
);
Another option would be to wrap your SafeArea in a Container and give it a white background while setting the top property to false (= meaning the SafeArea will not be applied to the top):
return Container(
color: Colors.white,
child: SafeArea(
top: false,
child: Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(),
body: // Your other widgets here
),
),
);

The Content inside a Column didnt centered, i already tried MainAxisAlignment.Center

The content inside the column didnt go center,i dont want to use center widget all i want is to make the widget list go center
class Body extends StatelessWidget {
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
Size size = MediaQuery.of(context).size;
// == size provide height and width from screen
return Background(
child: Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
Text(
"Welcome to my App",
style: TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold, color: kPrimaryColor,),
),
SvgPicture.asset(
"assets/icons/chat.svg",
height: size.height * 0.45,
),
FlatButton(
onPressed: (){},
child: Text("LOGIN", style: TextStyle(color: Colors.white),),
color: kPrimaryColor,
padding: EdgeInsets.symmetric(vertical: 20,horizontal: 40),
)
],
),
);
}
}
This will help you.
Column(
mainAxisAlignment:MainAxisAlignment.center,
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
Text('text'),],
)
Or try with a list view
Scaffold(
appBar: new AppBar(),
body: Center(
child: new ListView(
shrinkWrap: true,
padding: const EdgeInsets.all(20.0),
children: [
Center(child: new Text('your content'))
]
),
),
);
Or you can use the Align widget
return Scaffold(
body: ListView( // your ListView
children: <Widget>[
Align(
alignment: Alignment.centerLeft,
child: _button("Left"),
),
Align(
alignment: Alignment.center,
child: _button("Middle"),
),
Align(
alignment: Alignment.centerRight,
child: _button("Right"),
),
],
),
);

How can I have two buttons in the bottom using align widget inside the center and column widgets?

I am trying to have a grouped button with two individuals and place them in the bottom. It is a login screen so there are other things.
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
backgroundColor: Colors.transparent,
body: SafeArea(
child: Center(
child: Column(
children: <Widget>[
SizedBox(
height: 75.0,
),
Text('Login'),
Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
RaisedButton(
color: Colors.orange,
onPressed: () {
print('login');
},
),
RaisedButton(
onPressed: () {
print('signup');
},
),
],
),
],
),
),
),
);
}
}
I've been trying with like align bottom and stuffs. But with Row(), it does not work with Center + Column widget. How can I send these two buttons to the bottom of the Center widget?
There are multiple ways to do this. One of them is to use the Spacer widget:
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
backgroundColor: Colors.transparent,
body: SafeArea(
child: Center(
child: Column(
children: <Widget>[
SizedBox(
height: 75.0,
),
Spacer(),
Text('Login'),
Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
RaisedButton(
color: Colors.orange,
onPressed: () {
print('login');
},
),
RaisedButton(
onPressed: () {
print('signup');
},
),
],
),
],
),
),
),
);
Another one would be to reverse the column and start from the bottom, but most probably the side effects are not wanted.
Also, one option would be to divide the whole screen into fixed height partitions with the help of MediaQuery.of(context).size.height value so that your buttons are always at the bottom.
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
backgroundColor: Colors.transparent,
body: SafeArea(
child: Center(
child: Column(
children: <Widget>[
SizedBox(
height: 75.0,
),
Text('Login'),
Expanded(
child:Container
(
alignment: Alignment.bottomCenter,
child: Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
RaisedButton(
color: Colors.orange,
onPressed: () {
print('login');
},
),
RaisedButton(
onPressed: () {
print('signup');
},
),
],
),
)
)
],
),
),
),
);
}

Having trouble centering a row widget

I have a Row widget on the bottom of the page that I can't center. I've tried all the mainAxisAlignment's and crossAxisAlignment's there are, as well as wrapping it in an Align widget and setting alignment to alignment.center and it's still on the left edge of the page. I've tried everything and am really stuck. Any help would be appreciated.
The Page (Updated)
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(
backgroundColor: Colors.lightBlue,
centerTitle: true,
elevation: 5,
title: Text("Pathomatic")),
body: Container(
decoration: new BoxDecoration(color: Colors.black),
child: SafeArea(
child: Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
children: <Widget>[
Expanded(
flex: 2,
child: new Stack(
children: <Widget>[
new Container(
alignment: Alignment.center,
child: _cameraPreviewWidget(context),
),
new Align(
alignment: Alignment.center,
child: GestureDetector(
child: Stack(children: <Widget>[
Positioned(
top: yPosition,
left: xPosition,
child: Container(
// padding: EdgeInsets.only(top: 200.0, left: 20.0),
height: MediaQuery.of(context).size.height / 3,
width: MediaQuery.of(context).size.width / 3,
child:
Image.asset('assets/images/crosshair.png'),
),
),
]),
onPanUpdate: (tapInfo) {
setState(() {
xPosition += tapInfo.delta.dx;
yPosition += tapInfo.delta.dy;
});
}),
),
],
),
),
SizedBox(height: 5),
Row(
mainAxisSize: MainAxisSize.min,
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: [
Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
_cameraTogglesRowWidget(),
_mlTextWidget(),
],
),
_captureControlRowWidget(context),
//SizedBox(width: 50),
],
),
SizedBox(height: 5),
],
),
),
),
);
}
This is usually because the widget you are trying to center is actually stretching its container. Since it's the size of the screen, it's contents stick to the left. You should use the Flutter Inspector with select widget mode to actually see how large your row is. Then everything will make much more sense.
In your code, your Row is stretching. Try
Row(mainAxisSize: MainAxisSize.min
This should make it not grow. Alternatively, you can keep the row large but make it center its children:
Row(mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.Center
Of course, with this approach its children will get close to each other in the center. You can use a SizedBox between them, or use some other way of spacing them apart.

Can't find correct layout option for how to use ListView in a custom Widget

I am trying to extract re-use a simple widget that is then referenced in parent widget. The custom widget simply uses a row to layout a textField and a button, and below this I Want to have a listview showing items. I then embed in the customwidget in parent, but it continually throws Error. I have not figured out how to get the custom widget working where I can use ListView or column layout inside. Below is the 2 simplified widgets that demo the issue.
Here is the parent widget, which is where I call the custom widget PlayListControl()
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(
title: Text('My Playlists'),
),
body: Container(
child: Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.start,
textDirection: TextDirection.ltr,
children: <Widget>[
Container(
alignment: Alignment.center,
margin: EdgeInsets.all(20),
child: Text('Test'),
),
PlayListControl(),
],
),
),
drawer: SideDrawer(),
);
}
}
And here is the playlistcontrol widget.
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Container(
margin: EdgeInsets.all(10),
child: Column(
children: <Widget>[
Container(
child: Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
Container(
width: 200,
child: TextField(),
),
ButtonTheme(
minWidth: 30,
child: RaisedButton(
textColor: Colors.white,
child: Text('add'),
onPressed: () {},
)),
],
),
),
Expanded(
child: ListView(
children: <Widget>[
Text('Widget 1'),
Text('Widget 2'),
],
),
)
],
),
);
}
}
No matter what I try, it always complains about layout issue related to height. I would have thought wrapping the ListView in Expanded would solve the issue, but it doesn't. Only if I use a container and specify height do I not get the errors, but I want to use whatever available space there is.
How can I get this playlistcontrol() widget to properly render inside a parent control?
you forgot to wrap the first container of PlayListControl in Expanded widget..
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
void main() => runApp(MyApp());
class MyApp extends StatelessWidget {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return MaterialApp(
title: 'Flutter Demo',
home: Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(
title: Text('My Playlists'),
),
body: Container(
child: Column(
mainAxisSize: MainAxisSize.max,
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.start,
textDirection: TextDirection.ltr,
children: <Widget>[
Container(
alignment: Alignment.center,
margin: EdgeInsets.all(20),
child: Text('Test'),
),
PlayListControl(),
],
),
),
));
}
}
class PlayListControl extends StatelessWidget {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Expanded(
child: Container(
margin: EdgeInsets.all(10),
child: Column(
children: <Widget>[
Container(
child: Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
Container(
width: 200,
child: TextField(),
),
ButtonTheme(
minWidth: 30,
child: RaisedButton(
textColor: Colors.white,
child: Text('add'),
onPressed: () {},
)),
],
),
),
Expanded(
child: ListView(
children: <Widget>[
Text('Widget 1'),
Text('Widget 2'),
],
),
)
],
),
),
);
}
}
