When using Vimeo's unity sdk there is a parameter that defines the resolution of the video currently playing.
To change that, I need to set the desired resolution and call the method LoadVideo() on Vimeo sdk to take effect.
But, when I call load video just for the sake of changing the Resolution, the video starts playing from the beginning and not from the current time.

I am using the camera package to record video in my app, via the
CameraController.startVideoRecording() method.
I would like to display the increasing value for the length of the video while recording.
My initial thought was to create a timer. But, I wonder if there is a better solution that is more integrated with the video recording itself, such a a callback/event that I can listen to for the current length of the video or some property related to the video that I can interrogate?
Any suggestions/recommendations or examples are appreciated.
Thanks
I have made an AR application which play video when the target is detected. But problem is that even when I place camera not in-front of the target image (No Target) its still keep playing until I go again an pause the video by clicking on the target.
If using Vuforia, there is a callback function, OnTrackingLost(), indicating that the tracker has been lost. You can stop the video in the body of this function.
If using another technology and you have to implement such a function by yourself, the obvious solution would be to use a timer. If the target image (previously recognized and tracked) is not detected for a given period of time, the tracker is lost. Again, you stop the video when you realize that the tracked image is lost.
I am using AVFoundation to display a Video in my UIView via an AVCaptureVideoPreviewOverlay.
I then use AVStillImageOutput's -captureStillImageAsynchronouslyFromConnection: to capture a still Image from the Video with the AVCaptureSessionPresetPhoto preset.
I am freezing the video using AVCaptureSession's -stopRunning in the -captureStillImageAsynchronouslyFromConnection completion block mentioned earlier. However, it's too late and the video has continued running while the still image is taken, so the freeze is a second or two later. When I display the image there is a jump.
How can I freeze the video at the exact moment the photo is taken?
Almost a year later...Your approach is all wrong. Instead of trying to pause the video at the precise moment that the image is captured why don't you pause the video and then capture that paused image. To a user it makes no difference, to a developer you don't have to worry about exact precision.
To reiterate my idea, if you pause a video and flash white visual and play a click the user will think you have just captured that frame regardless if you are or not. Actually, you could consider pausing video the same as capturing an image without saving it.
I am developing an iPhone application in which I play videos using MPMoviePlayerController.
Sometimes, some of the videos don't play immediately after I call play on MPMoviePlayerController.
I have called prepareToPlay and in the notified method of MPMediaPlaybackIsPreparedToPlayDidChangeNotification, I am calling play on MPMoviePlayerController.
Could someone help in identifying the problem here?
Thanks,
Laxmilal
From my answer in a similar thread (reducing-the-initial-delay-when-playing-remote-video-content) - Note this fragment of the solution is valid for both, remote and local video content.
Use theMPMoviePlayerController.movieSourceTypeproperty when initializing your
player to cut down the media
recognition delay.
From the MPMoviePlayerController Class Reference:
The default value of this property is
MPMovieSourceTypeUnknown. This
property provides a clue to the
playback system as to how it should
download and buffer the movie content.
If you know the source type of the
movie, setting the value of this
property before playback begins can
improve the load times for the movie
content. If you do not set the source
type explicitly before playback, the
movie player controller must gather
this information, which might delay
playback.
I am working an iphone app that needs to record a vedio automatically.
I used mobile coreservices framework and using that. I made it to came into video mode and clicking on record option its start capturing a vedio. But I want it automatically that is.. I should able to record a video without clicking on record option. That is when video mode comes up its automatically start record video.
Could any one help?
You can look at UIImagePickerControllers startVideoCapture method which is used to start taking video from the camera, this is to be used when you arent using the camera standard controlors and you provide and overlay view. Here is a reference UIImagePickerCOntroller ref. If this is not enough for you, you might want to look into AVFoundation framework which gives you a lot more control over video capturing process...hope that helps
